A NEGATIVE,UNINTELLIGIBLE EXPERIENCE I have been a seller on catawiki for many years and had positive experience but lately i guess probably something changed, today i have got a message that my auction was not admitted:for an Audi R8 V10 2013 with following reason: After careful consideration, due to the relatively young age ..... they have right now one on sale year 2015. ,Now my question is ... Are you kidding? This shows that there are no doubt that there are certain kind of customer preference? Auctions open only for SPECIAL clients?I am truly dismayed and speechless This is really A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE

Poor help when a buyer didn't deliver what was ordered. They say that our money is safe until delivery but in fact they don't refund when something goes wrong. They don't help you at all and the only thing they care is to take their commission.... Stay away!!!

After winning a bid, I tried contacting Catawiki to get assistance in shipping my winning item. After serval help desk submissions requesting help, Catawiki never replied! The only response I got from them was a bill and daily demands of payment. I wasn’t even able to contact the seller because it’s against company policy. So he/she doesn’t even understand why their product isn’t being paid for other then Catawiki making up some lame excuse I imagine. During this period of time I contacted a company called Marlog Car Handling which Catawiki recommended in their support documents if you read enough of them. Marlog Car Handling Quoted delivery service of over 3600€ within the EU. And that was without VAT! Which they emphasized for some reason. I checked prices in the USA on an auction purchase and transporting it to Europe was quoted at just over $1200! How can a company halfway across the world ship an identical product for 1/3 the price it cost Marlog Car Handling to ship a couple countries over within Europe? Any hoot, Catawiki auction prices seem really high when you compare it to eBay or even Autoscout24. I was surprised to find a surcharge of 9% for winning the bid. That’s on addition to the 12% Catawiki charges the seller making their commission at 21% for each sale which is really ridiculous compared to other auction companies. How Catawiki has stayed in business is beyond me with crappy customer service if any and ridiculously high commission rates. I would advise everyone to use another auction company that has customer service over Catawiki

I mirror what everyone else has been saying below re customer relations.....or rather the lack of them! They do not respond directly to your question, and I am in awe of anyone who has actually spoken to them. Have you got a number? They cancelled my bid for rum as the supplier couldn't/can't currently ship into the UK. They refunded my 120 Euros LESS their admin and charges! Why? It's not my fault that their customer cannot fulfil his/her end of the transaction! Grrrrrrhhhhh!

They function fine when everything's work as it should. When a problem occur you will see they do not care at all. They sell fakes quite often. The experts set a random price estimate several ties much higer then the retail prices. And then I talk about items not rising in value due to its limited or old. If you call them for support they operate as machines and do not give you answers. I have been a frequent user and I have got bad experiences. I had hoped i was just unfortunate but this is how they operate.

I have been buying on Catawiki for over a year, and here is what I have discovered: 1) The experts are a joke. They have absolutely no idea what they are selling, and they 2) elevate the "estimates" liberally. 3) You have to be VERY savvy to know if the auction item is authentic. The vast majority of the ancient items are FORGERIES. This is true with everything from Egyptian to so-called "Viking" pieces. They claim that 19th century excavated bronze rings are "medieval." Any novice would be fooled. I have a long experience in early pieces, and there are finds to be had, mainly because the "experts" had no idea what they were looking at. (I have acquired several pieces which pre-date the so-called "expert's opinion.) That said, CAVEAT EMPTOR. Research the sellers. Their largest ones are known in the trade for selling fakes. Use common sense, because bidding with Catawiki is a game that can cost you! Moreover, Catawiki customer service is non-existent, and EVERYTHING ships late. Sometimes months late. Honestly I cannot recommend this auction house; they can be as bad as eBay.

Thieves! They allow fraudsters to steal your luxury goods! Thieves! They allow fraudsters to order your designer goods then claim false issues and keep your goods for free! Without paying a penny! I lost a set of designer porcelain this way. To hell with fraudsters like Catawiki! Never sell anything there. It will just be stolen!

CATAWIKI DOES NOT ALLOW BUYERS TO CONTACT SELLERS UNTIL AFTER THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.BAD POLICY. IN MANY OCASSIONS ITEMS ARE FAKE COPIES SOLD FOR A HIGH PRICE THEY MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTACT COSTUMER SERVICE AND SAY THEY WILL CALL YOU BACK IN 2 OR 3 BUISNESS DAYS AND THEY DONT. THEY REALLY DONT HAVE ANY EXPERTS THERE THEY HAVE SCAMMERS. I BID AND WON MY LAST ITEM THERE AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE SELLER RE; SHIPPING COST THEY EMAILED ME BACK AND SAID THE SELLER DOES NOT SHIP TO US. SO I DID NOT PAY. THEY ARE NO LONGER ALLOWING ME TO BID ON ANYTHING ELSE. CATAWIKI WILL BE CLOSING DOWN AS THEY CONTINUE LIKE THIS

Worst of the worst. Avoid at all cost. I bought an item that (to make a very long story very short) couldn't be shipped. Catawiki never informed me of this until after - on their advice - I had paid import tolls. Now 2.5 months later I'm still waiting for a refund for the object I purchased. And Catawiki are saying that they won't refund the import duties (which again, they told me to pay). Companies at these should honestly not be allowed to operate.

You win, you pay but you never receive the item for which you have paid. You then begin complaining to Catawiki and to the seller. Catawiki never responds and the seller blames the post. You will end up realizing how stupid you are to trust a gang of internet scampers. STAY AWAY!

They are absolutely bad company !!!! I won a few things from the same seller and they proposed me to send everything together so that I can spare money for post but they were not able to adjust the lots price and they told me to pay full cost because they are not able to do that and then hope that the seller will send me back to much paid cost !!!!! This is absolutely not normal and realistic!!!! This is cheating!!!!!! Please avoid them !!!!!

Fortunately, i read all the reviews before I bid. Most of the items were precious and rather good value for money. But probably worth more if the items were real and genuine. However, i sense something is not right and could be scamming. AFter all these reviews below, my suspicions are confimed. Too good to be true! stop buying.

Terrible customer service. Had a good experience initially. Eventually I didn't get a lot I had paid, and instead of trying to help the customer representative referred to the terms and conditions. Stay away.
