“Bought several pairs of shoes to try on at home. All were large fitting. Returned and took almost 2 months for a refund! Had to return a few pairs by one method, and another by a different service because they’d been shipped from different places - annoying.
I received far less when the refund finally arrived because they’d been reduced in the sale several times. Felt scammed that they took so long to process a refund - don’t know any company that takes so long? Thought this was a good company, but returns process really frustrating. Had to phone & email & didn’t receive a call back when I was told I would - just never heard anything.”
“I used to only wear Ecco shoes as they were the only shoes that lasted and were comfortable. Not any more.
Now the factories seem to be mainly in Asia, the shoes are not the quality they once were. Price hasn't gone down either .
Shoes also seem a skimpier and narrower fit. And I can't wear Ecco all day like I used to.
I have now had 3 pairs where the sole split and/or crumbled into a sticky black mess.
Another pair, Mary Jane style shoe, the black sole is turning white at the bottom of the sole and I'm not game to wear them out in case they fall apart.
One other pair I wore out and the soles came away and completely fell off as I was walking. Awkward and embarrassing.
I put up a review and got a reply saying the shoes were an older design. Sure, they might have been an older design, but they should still be able to be worn without the soles completely coming away when I'm walking. What if I had been an older person out walking and my shoes fall apart ?
Ecco management doesn't seem to care about the deterioration of a once quality product, customer care is poor and the price remains high. As long as the money comes in, eh ..
Money should be refunded, even in the absence of a receipt and no questions ask when the soles deteriorate/crumble away, no matter the age of the shoes.
No more Ecco for me. Buyer beware.”
“Terrible quality shoes and a total lack of response from customer service. Bought a pair from the Lisbon store and they came apart after one week (see photos). Store did not respond to a single email or phone call. Head office said it's not their problem, and contact the store. Shocking.”

“Very pathetic quality without warranty for wear & tear. The shoes of worth 20k got torn in 4 months and ECCO isn't bothered to repair it under warranty. Firstly if you are making such expensive shoes, the basic requirement is good quality. And if you can't offer good quality, better consider the wear & tear under warranty for approximately 12 months.”
“The shoes ordered online were defective. I returned them and the customer service was terrible. I asked for a replacement. After more than a month the sneakers arrived yesterday. The laces were dirty with spots and the shoes were recycled. In the past I purchased from Nordstrom and Stan’s never online. I have never had a worst experience and to think the shoes were recycled is maddening.”
“I have used Ecco golf shoes and trainers for many years. Problem with the golf shoes, which I have had before, namely that after a few wears, they stink of cats urine. I had one pair changed which I had bought from an Ecco dealer, who admitted that it was a chemical reaction Ecco were aware of. This latest pair, I bought direct from Ecco and despite several emails I can get no reaction from them other than the auto generated email receipt.

“I ordered a pair of Ecco shoes from Ecco. I got a used pair of shoes. The left shoe had a large and pronounced walking crease and the white shoe strings were filthy. Ecco will not even address my problem. No more Ecco's for me.”
“It is sad to see what has happened to ECCO Shoes. The quality is non existent. The customer service is even worse as I have had ZERO response from them. I am recovering from cancer and walking is essential to my health. I have a pair ecco track 25 that literally had the sidewalls fail. It is nothing more than a thin wall of foam rubber. The tops and soles look brand new but the sides have completely come apart. NO response from ECCO! Never again will I buy or recommend like I have many times in the past!”
“Ecco offered a 20 percent reduction on my next pair of shoes. I will never buy another pair of Ecco shoes again.
The sole if these sandals literally disintegrated this weekend. The shoes have had little wear. On checking online it appears that they have had this problem for years all over the world but have not taken steps the fix it.”
“I hadn't worn my shoes for over a year (courtesy of COVID) and then when I put them and began walking the soles began to break apart and created a huge sticky black mess. So I took photos of the shoes and threw the shoes out. When I called the company to arrange a replacement, they were well aware of the problem (they called it hydrolysis, almost proudly), but were unwilling to make any concessions towards a replacement or discount for the purchase of a new shoe with the photos alone. They insisted on receiving the shoes.
This is by far the worst customer service that I have encountered ever.”
“I latterly walked out of my shoes with my Ecco Timberland shoes. I turned around and the sole of my shoes was all over the floor in some tar like mess. I will never buy another pair of Ecco shoes and will tell everyone I know buyer beware. The problem is Ecco will not do anything for its poor quality.”
