“Lidl cambridge, us the worst lidl i have ever visited. So far 3 times i have been and had to unload my shopping on a belt&leave as the queues are so long, the young inexperienced till operator a young girl that all she could say is that i can't hear you to every customer. This time i stood in the queue n complained to a member of staff about a long queues in this covid time. I will never visit cambridge lidl again i rather go to Huntington or st neots despite the fact that i live in cambridge, i kniw at least another 6 house holds who are doing the same. I have been to lidl in Spain, germany all over uk, Brighton & Eastbourne, never seen a lidl managed so badly n till staff so rude, i mean one of the girls. If could rate it 0 i would.”
“Been waiting nearly 4 months now for a some one to get back to me on my compliant ,about my 4in 1 petrol tool . All they say is one of our time is looking into it.Service is rubbish,”
“Bought black pudding 4 slices from Lidl in Monmouth, they are the best flavoured black pudding I’ve tried, well worth checking out if you like black pudding”
“Went to Lidl Briton Ferry rd yesterday bought some green beans. when I got home I opened them to find them full Of mould and fur. No sell by date on packet anywhere. Had fruit there before and gone off following day. It’s true what they say, but cheap by twice! Won’t be buying my fruit and veg there again.”
“I'm a regular customer of lidl , However, I can not understand why they put out spay, and sanitizer for customers to use. And do not appear to arrange for the shopping trolleys to be cleaned . Used Lidl at Pelaw Gateshead to day, all shopping trolleys were filthy. How can you exspect people to put food in to such grime.
At the same time when there were only one casher working, trying to deal with a large queue, I had to fetch someone to help out. Please have a word with your staff.”
“My Husband and myself went to the Lidl store in Leamington Spa yesterday. As we approached the checkout there were 4 operators on, but 2 were closing. There were 2 ladies at the checkout with large trollies full and at the other checkout it was the same-we had 6 items. My husband asked the chap on checkout 2 if he could put ours through as we only had a few things. He pointed out the open checkouts, which he said he knew, but thought the idea was to get in a shop be served and leave asap (this is only the 4th time we have been in a shop since lockdown). He wasn't having any of it and walked off.
We were waiting in a queue having a private conversation about the availability of staff and our checkout operator, Becci, piped up he had to get tills ready for other people to come on at 2pm and that he finished at 4-don't know why we needed to know that. She had no right to comment, but she did. My husband told her he was not concerned about this, was concerned about getting served and getting out of the shop.
Her colleague then came to take over the till and she told her as plain as day 'there's an a******* at the end of the queue'. We obviously made it known we were unhappy with being called that and asked for the manager-Jasper-who had been on the till that wouldn't put our shopping through. When we told him a member of staff called my husband an a******* he said had we of talked to him in a friendly manner previously he would have gone out of his way to deal with it. Nothing to do with it, someone working in a shop should keep that kind of opinion to themselves and not say it in front of the customer. Neither one of them said sorry and Jasper was going out of his way to be obstructive. Manager-really? I have reported this to head office in fairness only yesterday after the incident so we will see what happens!”
“The state of the freezers was unbelievable, looked like someone had thrown a hand grenade in them, boxes and packets in total disarray. Large empty cages in the aisles, forcing customers to squeeze past, no social distancing possible. A very long wait at the checkout, lengthy queues and only two tills open. What's gone wrong Lidl? It used to be a pleasure shopping there but sadly no longer the case.”
“Lidl is a good store but your experience all depends on what cashier you get before leaving. There is and old woman you need to try and avoid in the greenwood s.c. store.if you have to buy over three items in this store you better take a calculator with you.cause you will be overcharged for sale items.i would highly recommend not filling a buggey in this store.i get home to much surprise got charged $8.50 for a 1.50 item.actually in this store the cashier can override a price and put in what they choose without the manager.for some ungodly reason this old woman does not like me.i have felt it since they hired her.”
“We live in Bristol and all stores pretty good. On holiday in Cromer and can’t believe this store. No limit on numbers of customers it was packed. Only 3 checkouts open any queue was horrendous in each ours had 20 in it which meant customers were having to lean over us to get items on shelves it was horrendous”
“Overcrowded, no customer service.
Won't be using store again , moulding bread after 2 days ,and veg unbeatable if not eaten within couple of day also.
Checkout is so fast , you feel rushed.”

“1st time out with husband after being isolated for 4 months ,New Lidl store in Fulwell lovely bright clean store ,to many customers in store one customer even touched me to ask me to move out the way to get to shelf,as a deaf customer wearing a mask as well I got really stressed out husband calmed me down in the end .Then when we got to the till we were not even acknowledged by the cashier he just threw the food to the other end .When it came to payment he just threw that at me as well 😡 so I just stood their trying to make eye contact ,I’m not usually not one to complain but I work for another well known supermarket and if I did this I would be sacked on the spot.”
“Whilst I appreciate this is a stressful time for Supermarket Workers (& The Customer too!) I do not appreciate being yelled at on till no 2 Braintree Store Sat 25th July around half past eleven to bring the basket with me! No PLEASE was added on to the end of that. For a first time visitor since before lockdown I did not know the procedure. I did have to mention to the cashier her manners she said she did say please. I DO NOT think so! We are all in this together at these uncertain times. Just please remember manners go a long way, when you are serving the general public! Thank you.”
“Had a visit to Lidl Baljaffrey tonight. The moment I walked in I noticed a member of staff sweeping the floor at the fruit section.
I headed straight for the margarine section at the diagonal rear of the store. As I was ready to choose which margarine to get I became aware of the same member of staff bumping my feet with her brush. At this I stood back and let her get by.
The next thing she was hitting my feet with the brush from the other side. I told her “the word is usually excuse me”.
At this point she takes umbrage to my comment and threatens to bar me for my attitude.
I asked what her issue was and she admitted she was suffering from anxiety and the store was closing. Effectively this woman was harassing me so she could shut the shop and go home.
I ask for the store Manager only to be told “it’s me”.
I was asked to remove my mask so she could identify me and she shouted at me that I was now barred. She demanded the return of the tub of margarine I had in my hand which I duly did.
She escorted me toward the door but before we got there I was able to ask a young male member of staff if there was someone in a more senior position in the store to which he replied “no, it’s her”.
As I headed to the door I attempted to get a photo of her as she had refused to give her name so I could attach it to my complaint. Unfortunately the camera failed.
She shouted to me that there was CCTV evidence to back up her claim that I was abusive to her.
Honestly I have never seen such a display from a store member of staff in my 53 years.
I have the name of the Area Manager and as soon as I can identify this person I will put in my complaint.
I have no wish for anyone to lose their job but seriously this woman needs educated in customer service.
If this is how a Lidl Manager speaks to a customer I can only feel sorry for any staff who have to share a shift with her.
This person is a bully and is putting the great reputation of Lidl in Bearsden at risk.”
“What's the point in posting big on lidl pamphlet through the door on the 22st july only to look through it to see £5 of £25 spent to further read that the offer runs out on the 20th of july the above date for getting pamphlet through my door should be 21st”
“Fruit bad staff not trained to talk to people after reading reviews on line I see I'm not alone no refund the power of Facebook and the Web will be the fall of the chain group”
“I went into the greyhound estate Southend-on-Sea branch this evening at just after 9 pm. There were no wipes in the dispenser bucket Outside the store to take in with me to clean a basket. I immediately told a member of staff expecting her to deal with it and get the empty container replaced. Her answer was that she would get someone to do it in a minute. I left the store at around 9.30 and looked to see if it had been done. Surprise surprise NO, the empty container was still there. NICE TO SEE LIDL ARE TAKING THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS SERIOUSLY, NOT!!!
Given the current situation I find this absolutely APPALLING.
I won’t be shopping there again anytime in the near future.”
“I've visited lidl in Chester twice in the last two weeks, there was nobody on the door limiting how many people go in store, no hand sanitiser. They should definitely have hand sanitiser for people to use.i love the shop and the staff are very nice but needs to be run a little better.”
