“The car park is not safe. I had a puncture in a tyre when leaving because it was so dirty. Then I over stayed waiting for someone to fix the tyre. When I received the parking notice I went to complain, Poor customer service I got mixed messages from members of staff, from one side it was possible to canceI the ticket from another side I was told is not possible I have to contact the parking company directly. Then I asked to see the manager. I was told to wait for the manager who was in a "meeting " in a lidl backroom??? For 40 mins, I waited for an hour but he never came and the body language of members of staff showed they were lying there was something fishy. "No help". Anyway just be aware what to expect when you drive to shop in ldl. Customer service 👎👎👎”
“I purchased a turkey at lidl with a sell by date of 26th dec. When i went to cook it it was rancid and slimy. No xmas dinner for my family this year . Thank you lidl. They refunded my money and customer services were apologetic and promised to send me some vouchers as my day was ruined ! A month later and they have duly arrived. 15 pounds was all my distress was worth to them. Needless to say i will not be shopping there anytime soon”
“Live lidl fruit meat & middle aisle bargains.
Today went to llanishen store cardiff.
Was busy had to go in the store for basket .
Was annoyed at area manager prancing around whilst staff as usual very busy .
Why dont they get shot of area managers that use up so much budget on big cars and even bigger wages.
They could employ more staff that are useful to the stores not the useless penpushers that cause unnecessary stress to the happy helpful workers .
JUST SAYING”
“My mother purchased a stand alone oven a few years ago. By chance on moving it we discovered that it had burnt a huge hole in the wooden work surface. It could have set the house in fire. Lidl’s response is that they do not know what happened, apparently it should not be placed on the standard wooden surfaces you buy at bbq although the instructions do not say so, and they will do nothing to compensate or warn users. Please beware of the silver crest oven. I am reporting the matter to trading standards. This is a fire waiting to happen.”
“Rancid turkey at Christmas. Returned receipt to customer service but just sent. £15 voucher. The turkey cost more. Why do I want vouches when I will not shop there again. Very poor customer service. Sent a letter with receipt but no reply for over two weeks so telephoned. Hence the vouchers! Terrible service. Can’t rate star as not working. They have enough one star most probably.u”
“Unfortunately, the plastic baskets are consistently unclean. The cashiers push your goods thru so quickly it can sometimes damage fresh goods, ie. from the bakery. However, the produce is excellent value.”
“I purchased some car seat covers for our vauxhall Mokka, they did not fit, sent back, I bought a set from lidls, so pleased fitted perfect and a 3rd of the price.”
“Past few Christmases purchased the Deluxe wiltshire ham joint with orange and bay leaf.As soon as they go on shelf they fly out the door. This is so tasty ,and good few portions easy to carve.lidl has lots of deluxe items which never dissapoints..”
“I am a regular Lidl customer, I like their meat and the fresh veggies. I shop in Uxbridge. I wanted to pass amessage to the Rowan Hill bakery, if it ain't broke don't fix it, I am referring to their Christmas Baklava Selection. The Greeks have been making baklava for hundreds of years and they never put raisins in baklava let alone cranberries, Rowan Hill's cranberry filled baklava was vile, did anyone at their plant actually taste one before they went ahead and produced them?”
“I shopped at Lidl in U.K. yesterday for the first time. It appears I was totally confused by the pricing system, although I felt that I had read the price against the item name! I estimated the shopping would cost around £85.00 , but at the check out it was £128.18. I am very disappointed, once home I checked the prices on the receipt and so many are not the cheap price I thought I would be paying. Buyer beware of their pricing system. Not a good experience for me and I personally would prefer not to shop there again. Today I will be comparing the prices at the 2 supermarkets I usually use. Also I think the store must have been very short staffed as from the minute we entered it was a complete mess of boxes everywhere and not neat and in order. This too I did not like. But I did like the contemporary glass doors on the chillers. I assume the chaos of stock not to be the norm as a lot of the shoppers seemed to be very surprised by this. It is a hurried way of shopping with no interaction from the check out staff. Not my idea of grocery shopping! Sadly dissatisfied!”
“Just picked up a copy of Lidl Weekly where a brand of 'plant-based coffee' is promoted. Don't Lidl staff known that coffee comes from pods that grown on trees!!!! Or do they think their customers are stupid enough to think other brands of coffee are derived from animals?”
“I have not had bad experiences as a customer at Lidl - have been shopping there for several years spending c £2,000 per year - but, after reading the numerous reports of poor contracts and working conditions for Lidl employees, I've decided to stop shopping there.”
“The store is a disgrace!!
Keep away by any means!!!
They not even openly don't care once so ever about the customers,
they openly spit in your face!!
They have subcontracted out the car park to a company, who have done everything in they power, to extract extortionate sums of money from customers, who are unaware of the arrangement.
On the top of that, they don't even know whats a meaning of customer service is!!
Absolutely terrible store and a company overall.
1* rating is much to high, as they deserve -5*
AWOID BY ANY MEANS!!!”
“Highly satisfied this Christmas with your
Delux 24 month matured Christmas Pudding. Superb quality with the old fashioned tastes of a home made Pudding.very good value for money to be recommended .”
“Staff always helpful, and polite and hard working. Some very kind, honest person handed in my pink spotted purse completely intact when I lost it and I was able to collect it later. Thank you very much. Even when the mistakes are mine- which they often are - I have always been treated with respect and understanding and a nice welcoming smile to boot!”
“I do like Lidl, but being on my own I don’t always want three or four lemons, large bags of carrots, onion, etc. The prices are very good value but I would like to be able to buy single items sometimes, the staff at the Staple Tye store in Harlow are very friendly and helpful which makes shopping there a nice experience. The range of products are also very good and getting more choices.sandra_c@”
“I visited the new Lidl in Witham Essex today. I emptied my small trolley and moved level with the assistant. She asked if I’d got anything else in my trolley. I looked at her quizzically as I didn’t understand what she meant. It then ‘clicked’ - she was asking if I’d got anything left in my trolley which I was hiding under my carrier bags (I actually didn’t put the bags in the trolley until it was empty!) I told the young lady that I was insulted to be accused of stealing. She was very apologetic and said she had to do it ! I felt embarrassed and humiliated. I asked to speak to a manager. He told me that some people were walking out of the shop without paying for items - I responded by telling him that I didn’t steal, and it was disgraceful! I don’t know of any other supermarket which carries out this humiliating practice.
Suffice it to say, I will never visit Lidl again! Having spoken to family, friends and work colleagues about the incident, they too will not be visiting Lidl!”
“Got to my Local Lidl in Pool Redruth Cornwall at around 9am today to purchase one of your Sirloin Joints to be told they only had 4 for sale and obviously they were already sold cannot believe that was all the stock the shop had .I am one dissatisfied customer”
