Lucky if you get deals that are offered and ask staff who are really rude and unhelpful and store is a complete mess compared to Scotland that is clean and well stocked

Lidl is my “to go” shop every week. Never been experiencing “big” issues , usual gaps in availability , long queues- I understand all that in the current times. But what happened to being kind? Recently the staff has changed in my local Lidl In Ockendon and two members are particularly arrogant. I wish I’d know they names cause going there every week I see that it’s not an occasional accidental rudeness they show it’s the way the are. Indian guy always restocking shelves, so so rude and arrogant. He’ll push you , your trolley without a single word. Once thought it was and accident , second time I ignored him, but now again this is just out of order? I work in retail myself and this person clearly shouldn’t be there as clearly he is just hating it and takes it on people. Another “dream worker” is the slim girl on the till with the messy pony tail- she normally restocks meat and then she’s on till most of the time. You can tell her hello as much as you want , I go extra mile to try and make a small talk as it is just awkward, common, girl you gotta provide a basic hello and goodbye to people. I understand Lidl is affordable but does this now mean we can be treated like rubbish? Those two really making me not want to come back to my local store. Everyone else are lovely especially the security and tall gentleman on till (i think his name is Steven) Dear Lidl please provide some basic training on customer service to your team. 👍

My valentines lilies never opened up. They have died before they have bloomed and the buds have just dropped off! Very disappointed.

This is nothing to do with the staff or store, it's too do with the with your vegetable lasagna, it's like the monster from the black lagoon and you would need to have covid 19 too eat it. Please excuse the sarcasm

Ihave shopped at lidls for a number of years, but I will be moving ,not only their indifference to senior citizens without a smart phone who therefore cannot take advantage of any money off offers, but also because Icannot understand why they have to stock the shelves when the shop is open making very difficult to social distance. This should be done out of opening hours

Lidl Plus is Useless. Had a two pound voucher on my Lidl Plus which disappeared after about 24 hrs. Emailed them and had to send a load more details, eventually £2 voucher was reinstated, but no word or explanation from Lidl. Then I got another £2 voucher and a £1 Scratchcard, took them all into store did about £50 of shopping and tried to redeem them....didn't work - I was told it was my network provider! As there was only a few days left on the vouchers I was passing lidl the next day, so went in to spend my £5 voucher, picked up 4 x bottles of beer at £1.25, and thought that would do nicely, queued at the till and was told "for a start you can't spend vouchers on alcohol" (regardless of the fact that I had purchased £50 of groceries the previous day and still had the receipt). Determined to spend my £5 I then went and bought just over £5 of dog treats, but alas when I got them to the till and tried to "activate" my vouchers I was told that each voucher had to be spent on an individual shop! "Ahah!" says I, "I will split my shop and make 3 purchases"..."Well yes, that's ok, but it might be complicated so I'll get someone else to deal with you" Finally got sorted but from start to finish the whole process has been a nightmare, luckily for me Aldi is only a couple of hundred yards from Lidl, think I will be shopping there more in future, and judging by the pre-christmas shoppers in each store I think I'm am not the only one feeling that way. Note to Lidl...if you are going to run some kind of customer loyalty scheme you won't get customer loyalty by making the scheme so difficult to use that it puts customers off...and certainly don't put customers in a position where they are embarrassed by your shop staff when trying to use the scheme!

The Lidl Plus App is a good idea in theory, but there are too many restrictions, making it very frustrating to use.

The shop prices are very good, however don’t try and contact them about a complaint or wrong pricing. Twice the check out machine that adds up your shopping for the month was not working, the first reply was, You have to receipt put against your account, you can use a old receipt, what a muppet! Do they have school kids doing they replies. 🤡

Lidl is a good store but your experience all depends on what cashier you get before leaving. There is and old woman you need to try and avoid in the greenwood s.c. store.if you have to buy over three items in this store you better take a calculator with you.cause you will be overcharged for sale items.i would highly recommend not filling a buggey in this store.i get home to much surprise got charged $8.50 for a 1.50 item.actually in this store the cashier can override a price and put in what they choose without the manager.for some ungodly reason this old woman does not like me.i have felt it since they hired her.

I visited Lidl in Chepstow on 16th June 2020 during the Pandemic. I was very disappointed that there was no staff member disinfecting trolleys or baskets. Also there was no arrows marking on the floor to guide customers to social distancing, no staff members controlling social distancing, Customers were mingling together in a very unsafe way. Very few customers and staff had masks on (I did have a mask). I felt very vulnerable and uncomfortable. The Corona virus has not gone and people are still being infected and dying. I will not be shopping in Lidl again.

5 weeks ago I was in the Malton North Yorkshire store. My turn at the till and the female assistant paused to blow the snotiest longer nose blow into a small tissue it was on her hands. Before she touched my shopping I said are you going to wash your hands! Or use a sanitizer? She was very rude and said no I don't have any and it's people coming in here that have given me this! In order to try to preserve the Lidle reputation i emailed customer services. I have not had a reply which has surprised me. If I had been working with the Environmental health department they would have been in trouble. Sort your customer service communication and staff hygiene and attitude out. Just been informed that a Male customer managed to buy 23 whole chickens at LIDL Ryhope, what the heck is going on...surely this cannot be right as just the other day a woman was refused all of her dairy products as she had trays full in her trolley and ended up with being allowed to purchase about a 1/5th. Get a grip LIDL, be seen to be fair across the board.

I shopped at Lidl in U.K. yesterday for the first time. It appears I was totally confused by the pricing system, although I felt that I had read the price against the item name! I estimated the shopping would cost around £85.00 , but at the check out it was £128.18. I am very disappointed, once home I checked the prices on the receipt and so many are not the cheap price I thought I would be paying. Buyer beware of their pricing system. Not a good experience for me and I personally would prefer not to shop there again. Today I will be comparing the prices at the 2 supermarkets I usually use. Also I think the store must have been very short staffed as from the minute we entered it was a complete mess of boxes everywhere and not neat and in order. This too I did not like. But I did like the contemporary glass doors on the chillers. I assume the chaos of stock not to be the norm as a lot of the shoppers seemed to be very surprised by this. It is a hurried way of shopping with no interaction from the check out staff. Not my idea of grocery shopping! Sadly dissatisfied!

Expect to be charged full price at the till for reduced items, happens constantly, always check your receipt! Staff are generally disinterested.

Tried the wine and fruit and veg for the first time this week at the new store at Hersham, Surrey. Barolo at £9.95 was almost undrinkable. Tipped away after one glass. The staff are friendly and well trained and the prices are low, but the quality definitely suffers. Bottom end of the market in value. I will not be back.

Disappointed, went to Lidl to try and save some shopping charges. I tell, you Tesco is no worse and offer a more comprehensive choice. Most of Lidl foods are Ok but nothing special, in fact the reason I am writing this review is due to a purchase of “chef select Nasi Goreng rice”...absolutely awful, the bits of egg, ham and leek had no flavour, had to add sweet chilli sauce to give it a bit of a zing, it still needed up in the bin.! Having been to Indonesia several times and eaten rijstaffel in Holland (where it came from)I can tell you any Indonesian chef would be ashamed..my advice is don’t waste your money.
