I had a car booked in Costa Rica and 24 hours before arriving they cancelled the booking. They offered a replacement that was 2x more expensive without any kind of compensation from the unilateral cancelation

Had a car booked and paid for at the airport. Provided all the documentation required and had the booking cancelled at the counter because I didn't have the start date on my licence. All Australian licences don't have start dates. No refunded was provided so paid for a car I didn't receive. The customer service process is horrible as they won't protect the customer. Better off booking direct with the rental car company or a more reputable website. Had the worst experience ever. Nothing like coming off an international flight with family to find your rental car cancelled with no refund. All this in the midst of the worst earthquakes in turkey.

Do not use this company. They lack integrity, I ended up paying double what their system was showing as "total price". Their contracts include hidden charges, which you will find out about at the rental counter at collection point. Customer service is awful, unhelpful and rude. Avoid like the plague, use another company!

Had an operator tell me I would get a refund, followed their advice, yet when I emailed them about the status of the refund afterwards, they then used some loophole to withdraw full responsibility and refused to pay me back...Instead of being able to support my very ill grandfather in the hospital, I was having to sent documents back and forth to no avail and then believe it or not, despite their dishonest and injust practices, they had the guts to wish me a 'good day' after saying they were gonna keep/steal my 91 euros.

After a long flight there was no at the airport to meet us. After many phones calls a courier turned up in a van about 45 mins after we were waiting to take us somewhere else. When we got to the office of sixt that were provding the car they told us we had no insurance and had to 360euros on insurance. Tired after a long flight and 2 small children we tried to argue the point but we ended up paying it too argue the point on the return of the car. When we returned the car they shrugged and said that the broker rentalcars.com do not give them information and to take it up as a complaint. I have done this both to rental cars and with sixt and enither are willing to accept blame and issue a refund for either the insurance we had taken out at £110 or the one paid at the airport. In either case we will never use SIXT or rentalcars.com. we left completely ripped off.

Winter Tyres!!! Booked online, it said winter tyres included. At the airport in Geneva, no winter tyres. Instead they charged me 80 Euros to rent some snow socks which are about as useful as a chocolate fire guard. It is a requirement by law in France to have winter tyres fitted, why are they sending their customers in to the mountains with summer tyres. Tried to get a refund and a answer from them, they don't care one bit, complete scammers. Do not trust this company, they are substandard and fraudulent.

Rentalcars.com is a complete scam! Do not give them your money as you will receive nothing in return except lies. Booked a car rental ahead of time for a trip to CO. When we landed there was no company to go to called "rentalcars.com" so I called. Was then informed that my booking "unfortunately was not available". Asked for a refund and was told to take it up with my bank as, "they must have put a hold for the amount on my account." As if my bank decided to send over $200 to this company all on its own. On the phone now with the 3rd person that reached through calling them and being told that since my "reservation" time has passed that they did their part and am not eligible for a refund. This company is 100% a scam and will give you nothing but expensive headaches!!!

Easy to book but rental companies will add hidden cost that will charge you after the booking. I don't really recommend but there is no better option for quick & easy booking. Problem is that RentalCars is just a booking platform and they have no idea what is happening at the actual renter,.. so much potential but for me it was a dissapointing experience: got charged for no reason after returning the car (no explanation).

Do not ever used this company. They are scam artists. They have charged me twice for a rental car. I ended up paying almost $750 to rent a car for three days. They took their money from MEX car rental and also charged me the same amount of money. Then when you try to contact them they keep sending you the same email with a different agent name. Every time you respond they ask for more information. They refused to help me and I will dispute this with my credit card.

Be aware of rentalcars. Make sure 100% that you choose right car, place etc. There was no refund option in majority cases.

Rental cars.com is a SCAM. Forces you to pay for car insurance. My agreement was for $420 to rent a car for 14 days. It ended up costing me an extra $740.

I wish I had read this sooner. After booking a rental on the weekend I could understand that there may need to be some changes. However, the first part was straight forward after booking and being charged and rental cars cancelling and refunding. All was smooth. Then rental cars sent an offer for another vehicle which I booked and thought all would be fine. But upon checking my account they had taken 2 payments. Within hours cancelled the offer and refunded 1 of the payments back. So by the end of the weekend I have spent 2.5hrs trying to book and I am now missing $400. Nearly a week later and I am still getting excuse after excuse and still no money returned. I have had to ask bank to investigate to try and get back. Book directly with rental companies, I have learnt you are wasting your time and energy with these 2nd 3rd party booking agencies.

I have booked a car from "panek" over "ryanair" iOS Application which delegate it to "rentalcars.com". It was for 3 days only but cost was over 100Euros so It is not so cheap... Everywhere was information that I will be able to cancel it free. When I have arrived in the airport and visit "panek" they rejected me because I am Ukrainian. I have tried explain that I have residence of Spain and show them my Spanish driver license with my plaster card of Spain residence but they have rejected... They explain me that I will get all my money since rejection was by only their pedantic to absence of special international driving license, and explained that another car rent companies there is NOT the same rule. So I counted on ability to return my money. But after a while I have gotten a lot of rejections from all of them(from ryanair and from panek so all of them point on rentalcars.com...) BUT!!!! There is not information nowhere that in case something will went wrong they will not return money and will resist to do that. SO FOR ME IT IS SOME INCIDENT WHICH I WILL CHARACTERISE AS RASISM. I have arrived to celebrate happy birthday of my God children(my relatives who are refugee from Ukraine), that money I could spend on them but I could not.

I have rented a car through rentalcars.com Booking reference is 719003605 Greenmotion Dubai. Because my creditcard did not work for the deposit - the car was not handed out to me and the booking got cancelled. Greenmotion said I should go to rentalcars.com to get my money back (about 700 US$). Lee Ann Fyrus works for rentalcars in the helpdesk and said that I will not get my money back. She informed me I have to go to the claim department. So finally it looks like the money 700$ is gone and rentalcars has it. And I did not collect a car (which was booked for 17 days !! ) I cannot recommend neither rentalcars.com nor Greenmobile Dubai for car-rentals. Looks like cheating customers in a way

Today is 1/11/23. Booked a car for pickup date 1/18/23(one week from now). Carretals.com cancelling policy is 48 hrs before pickup date the there will be no charge. But after I gave them the credit card for reservation and clicked "reserve car", received an email confirmation from them but THEY changed the pickup date to 1/13/23 from my 1/18/23. I went in and did an "edit" to correct the pickup date. Then they want to charge me another $100 for changing back to "MY" original date. So I cancelled the reservation but they will not refund my charge according to the agreement citing that it is now "within the 48 hrs agreement" so no refund. So the scam is they changed my reservation pickup date to one within the 48 hrs so I can't cancel and get a refund. very shady and most definitely criminal.

We had booked a car through Rentalcars.com for our trip to Aruba. The vehicle was booked through Avis. Unfortunately due to weather and delays, we did not arrive until 2 days later. I called the Avis agency on the morning day we would arrive and they told me they could not hold my vehicle for that length of time, and that there was no vehicle available to us. We booked with a different agency when we arrived. I reached out to Rentalcars.com for a refund since we did not receive the vehicle. They replied that they would not provide a refund since according to them, Avis said there was a vehicle available to us, despite the agent telling me otherwise. I feel that I should be entitled to the refund of my money since I did not receive any vehicle. I would discourage anyone from using Rentalcars.com in the future.

It’s with regret I write a negative review – but my situation is unique. I booked a 53-day car rental from RentalCars.com. Due to personal circumstance my plans changed and I needed to cancel my booking. I requested a cancelation accepting that there would be a penalty as the booking had already started. Their policy allows bookings to be cancelled within 24 hours of the start but unfortunately, I contacted them 39 hours after the start. They said this meant I would have to pay for the full 53-day rental without using the car. I felt this was both inflexible and mean spirited given they would rent the car to another person. They were capitalising on an innocent mistake I made. They could have been fair but they chose not be to. This policy makes sense for a booking of 7 day booking but not for a 52-day booking. I was prepared to pay for a week’s rental given I had made the error but their response was ‘policy says no’. If I had a 120-day booking and cancelled one hour after the policy deadline I have a feeling the policy would still be the same. When writing to customer service I got a different service agent each time I wrote back. It felt like no-one was really listening to make a judgement call for this situation vs looking in the customer service manual to say ‘policy says no’. It’s a real shame as this has put me off the company.

I had to cancel my reservation due to an act of God (weather) cancelling my flight to the destination to pick up the car. They still charged me $99.84 cancellation fee. Do not use this company. they do not believe in customer service and once they have your credit card number they stick it to you.
