Worst customer service..! Worst customer service. Offer to cancel the booking for free, but once I did try to do this due to getting the exact same car with the same provider Alamo cheaper on holidayautos.com, they refused to cancel and said they will price match. Provided all the details and they didn't respond for 3 days. From the destination I had to call them and they said they price checked now and it's more expensive. Of course it is if they don't bother for 3 days and wouldn't have at all, if I hadn't called them. Don't trust them. Go with holidayautos.com instead.

no customer service both in the booking office , and in the local car rental. Received a car that needed service - was told to return the car within 24 hours! Because I contracted Corona, had to change my booking , shorten the reservation by 8 days. Cannot get an answer whether I will be reimbursed or not!

I will NEVER rent from rentalcars.com again, EVER!! I agree with the other reviews, they are scam artist. Rented a car via rentalcars.com. Reservation was made for 4pm. Got off the plane and went to grab our luggage. Called the rental vendor at 4:30 after grabbing our luggage and was told the vehicle was cancelled for a no show and no other rentals were available. I asked why was there no notification about the car being cancelled and why was the car cancelled after only thirty minutes. AZ Car Rental advised we needed to work with rentalcars.com. After multiple calls, I was told we needed to file a claim but had to wait until after the date the rental car we didn’t receive was due to be turned in. I filed a claim for a refund and it was denied due to the car being ready at 4pm. I was told this would have been the same if our flight was delayed. I will NEVER rent thru this vendor again. I feel we were scammed out of our money.

Thieves!! I echo all of the other reviews. Do not use this company. Arrived to pick up a vehicle, company was closed, car lot empty. When we got through to them by phone they said they did not have any vehicles or a booking! Rentalcars.com have said that the car was ready and so can not refund. Will claim back through Amex as fraudulent!!

***BEWARE*** We arrived to pick up our car and the rental car company was not at the airport location. We were told (at the location) we would have to call to have them bring us a shuttle to the other location. When we called, we were told no one was working that afternoon, so we couldn't get our car. We ended up having to scramble and get a different car with another company after much wasted time on the phone with this company to figure out what was going on.

Buyer beware!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We rented a car on rentalcars.com for pickup at an airport location. Our flight was delayed and we arrived late to pickup the car. The woman at the rental company told us that Rentalcars.com canceled our reservation within 15 minutes of our pick-up time..meaning even if our flight was on time and we were held up in baggae claim, or the rental car shuttle line, we would not be able to pick-up the car. Why would they cancel our reservation you ask? Because then they pocketed our full prepayment of 500! We ended up having to rent a car at the desk and pay in full ..again! When we finally got through to rentalcars.com- which is also very difficult when calling from overseas - we were told that since we didnt cancel our reservation 48 hours before our pick up time (who knows their flight is delayed 48 hours prior to the pick up time?!) we couldn't get any of our money back unless we made another rental agreement with them and then they would give us one day back. This is a fraudulent company!! Don't take a chance!! Just pay more!! In this case paying more will definitely cost you less!!

95 euros for cleaning the car????? I also when I went to pick up the car they gave it to me 1 hour late of my booking time Never again!

By all means please stay away from this company. For my holiday in Turkey they charged me for the car to be collected at the address that doesn’t exist. Unsuccessful attempts to get a refund, appalling customer service. Not recommended.

Reserved and paid for car with full insurance with a guaranteed shuttle service. Upon arrival at Liverpool airport at 11.00 pm, I phoned the company to get picked up only to be told I could either walk 20 minutes to the Rentalcars agency or pay £4.00!I paid the fee and was taken to the agency. As I had booked an early morning return flight I asked the agent what time the shuttle bus would take me to the airport only to be told that I could either take a taxi £15 (if one was available, or do the 20 minute walk! I was then asked for my credit card to cover costs?? As I only have a debit card I was told I would have to pay an extra £35 per day of the rental! At this point I left the agency, refusing to take the car as there was no guarantee I would make my flight back in time and the company obviously can not be trusted with any hidden charges upon returning the car. I was stranded in an industrial zone but I finally made it to my father's funeral thanks to UBER. I have since written and telephoned to no avail, their lack of customer care is disgusting. Don't use the, go with Europcar, I've never had a bad experience with them.

Stole about SEK 3,000 from me by charging for a car that I did not rent. Refused to answer when I called from the counter and delayed the refund process. Finally refused to repay the amount despite dozens of emails / calls over a five-month period. Never. Ever. Again

Worst experience.scammers. They always took money for no service. Don't believe this rentalcars.com. they are not even deserve 1 star. They took 400chf from my husband. They didn't refund for cancellation. But when booked a car it shows free cancellation. Thiefs

Rentalcars.com appears to offer an attractive deal, including insurance but when you actually go to pick up the car, the car provider they have assigned does not deliver the car demanding you purchase insurance directly from them. Effectively this amounts to forced purchase of insurance twice over and if you don't do it they don't give the car. So when you walk away from the deal rental cars.com system does not let you cancel and then you can't get your money back. This is tantamount to outright theft just that there is no recourse except credit card company that I am now struggling to reach to disallow the charge.

Hello, rental cars .com in my opinion are not up front and open about renting cars in Europe. A major important detail is for European union, if coming from outside the union, you need an international driver's license. That is not stated anywhere in their main communications with me. I arrived to pick up my car, they could not give me one because of wrong license. Ok, i try to cancel my 4 day rental. Nope, not allowed. Ok, i'll pay for first day since they hold the car for 12hrs. Nope. I called rental car.com and they said they would email me rental issue forms. Nope, never happened. Several emails later they say sorry, but it's in the policy. Basically i paid for a rental car for 4 days and got no rental car and they took 100% of my money. I am furious. Please don't use this company for your car rental needs.

Terrible service if you try to cancel, they make what they can to avoid you and make the process exausting. After all I could't do it and quit, leaving my money behind.

This company is shambolic! Terrible customer service. One agent on the phone even hung up the phone on me when I asked them if I could speak to someone else. I made a booking with them for Europcar and it said in the details that the pick-up deposit must only be made with a credit card and nothing else. I called them to ask about it and they confirmed over the phone that was the case. I had to change my booking to a more expensive rental that would accept debit cards. When picking up the car the Europcar the office manager told me that they always accept debit cards and that Rentalcars were wrong. After a truly painful experience trying to get the difference refunded as it was their mistake they eventually outright refused saying it was my fault. So it was my fault that I didn't check the incorrect information when making my booking??!!! Trying to submit a complaint about a rental is almost impossible, I think they just hope you'll give up. You'll have to pay extra for the privilege of using them as 3rd party and if you have a problem they'll conveniently disappear. Just go straight to the rental company

When I was searching for a car rental I looked at what they had to offer. I entered the info required & then decided to look at the reviews. Based on the reviews I went back to the page that I had still open & decided I did not want to use them. I closed the window out without knowingly confirming it. After I had finalized the exact day & time of the flights I did book & pay another company. When I looked at my credit transactions on my card I discovered Rental Cars had processed my inquiry and charged me $108.00 for car rental. I immediately contacted them to discuss & they stated their minimum cancelation charge would be three days rental charge. As my rental turned out to be over a 3 day period by calendar but only 2 days by hours they wouldn't refund anything stating they were losing a day. They were losing a day??? I didn't even use any car from them!!. Will attempt to work this out with my credit card company who is already aware of the dispute & recommended that I try to work it out with the company first before they close out my card & send a new one. So much for working anything out with Rental Cars...they have $108.00 for absolutely NOTHING !!!!!!!!

Had a car reserved and when I showed up at the counter, no car was available because the public bus we were on was late. The company says that is not their problem, so they will not refund the money. Do not use this company!!!

This company is a sham and a joke. My experience with Rentalcars.com was one of the single worst examples of customer service I have ever endured. I got an email the night before my car pick up that my booking was not confirmed (despite already having a different confirmation email from Rentalcars.com a month prior, and having paid), so I rang customer service. After a 15-minute wait, the person was rude and unhelpful, and couldn't answer a single question. He told me to 'call back at the end of the day', despite it already being 5.30pm. He said call at 8.30pm. When I did, the customer service line was closed, which I can only assume he knew it would be. At 12pm the next day – 30 minutes before I was supposed to pick up my car in Greece – I received an email from them saying my booking had been cancelled. Luckily, I had booked a replacement with a genuinely reputable company, anticipating this would happen. At the call centre, they have a 'policy' that they cannot elevate your complaint to a manager. I imagine this is because there either is no manager, or they get so many complaints that it's an unmanageable workload for a single person. If I could rate my experience a 0 or less, I would. If I hadn't taken the initiative, I would have been stuck at the airport with no car.

Rentalcars.com is hiring cars for companies which do not exist in real life. Just came back from holidays in Poland. Rented a car through RyanAir which is redirecting to Rentalcars.com. When arrived to airport in Poland , I have tried to contact person which suppose to meet and greet us. Call goes straight to voicemail. I have left message and had call back from different number than that I called. Guy said that he has nothing to do with car hire company.I had no choice but to hire a car from different company. I have contacted RyanAir which directed me to Rentalcars.com I have contacted Rentalcars.com. They responded and said that I cannot have refund as I didn't cancel my booking. How could I know that car hire does only exist on the web but not in real life. Rentalcars.com shouldn't even receive one star. It is the lowest of the low. They do not check even if company is existing and they keep on selling product.

I have heard so much about XAP Credit Solution on how they help people boost their credit score and remove soft/hard enquiries from their report. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try, the good news is that XAP came through for me and 5 others I referred.
