“I bought in early March. A week after the 30 days of purchase, my phone started, occasionally, not responding to touch and sound doesn’t always work.
I bought because the sale page says you have a year warranty. I have been looking for help. I have the option to return my phone for a refund and wait 30 days for refund. That doesn’t work. I don’t have money to buy another and time to wait for a refund.”
“I have pictures to prove what I'm about to say. $116 offer for Pixel 6 down graded to $105 (which I don't have yet). They show a picture with a scratched screen, it was not there when shipped. If it were really scratched wouldn't they downgrade more than $11. Anyway I accepted because I figured they will send it back with a scratch if I refused the offer. I wonder how many people actually get the full offer. I'm still waiting for the money to land in my bank.”
“A hit or miss..i ordered a 2019 macbook pro and paid an extra $200 for it to be in “excellent condition” I at least expected it to be lightly used with a couple scratches..some sides are chipped and the rubber lining on the screen looks like it’s been melting + it runs slow if you have 2 or more applications open which is very annoying..sometimes it is just slow with no applications open at all. they obviously don’t look at whether you ordered it “fair” or “excellent” it’s just a matter of luck.”
“So far the refurbished phone we bought has been great. The trade in program is a problem. We sent in our device and we got a counter offer. The problem came when I went to get my money. They asked for a copy of my ID front, and back, SSN, DOB and my banking account routing and account number.
Now I am not sure if you have been through any Identity theft issues but giving that info is a NO GO. I called BackMarket to get them to just credit my credit card or send me a check and they refused. The CS rep was rude, lied and said all that clearly states on the site and in the agreement when I purchased.
Finally they listed the status as “payout” done when I never even gave them my info so it makes it look like they actually paid me. The trade in company is called “The Cellular Resource”. Then we got a message saying that “payment has been sent” I will be amazed to see if they actually send us a check and I will update this if so.”
“Really bad experience with the seller on Back Market. Purchased what I thought was a 4k res ThinkPad as ADVERTISED. Received a 1920 res. Back Market was very communicative but the seller was less than professional. Offered $30 back to keep, or return laptop with no fix. Laptop seems fine; just not close to what was advertised or received. Seems like the customer got the short end and neither the seller nor Back Market really tried to make things right when given the chance. It should have been very simple to make things right. Disappointed.”
“I bought a android Kyocera brigade , I received the phone June 2 , 2022 , the phone shut completely down July 1st and would not turn back on . I called back market , I said that I tried to call but they were closed and the recorded voicemail I got said they were open Monday thru Friday 8am to 8pm. Customer service argued with me and said sorry for the misinformation but we were opened , I said no you weren't may I please speak to a supervisor. He then asked me why I explained and he put me on hold for a hour. So I hung up and called back , this time the man admitted that they were closed but still couldn't help me because it was passed the 30ty day return policy. Junk phone and terrible customer service. Never again , do not deal with back market.”
