“Fake display, phone lied about the specs (paid for an iPhone 12 mini 164 gb)
And I got an iPhone 12 mini in a sort of green color and a 64gb. Scuffed everywhere even though I paid 379 dollars for excellent.”
“Back Market sold me a phone without Bluetooth. When I sent it back to get a repair, they said that they won't repair it, since there was a scratch that hadn't been there before, never addressing the phone's Bluetooth issue in the first place. Never ever trust them... They are just a Marketplace and out for profit.”
“I ordered an Apple Watch and a pair of AirPods from back market. But I noticed there was an error on the postcode I notified them BEFORE the item was shipped and they promised to have it sorted out, only for them to still ship it to that same wrong location and are asking me to travel all the way across the country for an item that's probably worth the price of travel”
“Horrible merchant. Sends broken products and has no support to help. You have to send it back to the seller and wait 10 days for a response....why can't they just send the product that the customer purchased? AKA a working (perfect condition labeled) product.”
“They offer trade ins but they hide the fact that they only pay you if you provide your full bank account and last four of your social. I refused to provide this info and now they won't pay me or return my phone”
“Back Market sells electronics of dubious quality and does not honor their warranty. My first phone arrived with a broken antenna but the company would not fix it. Bad decision to make a second purchase -- this one stopped working after a month, and was rejected from warranty work.”
“Send them an iPhone 14 Pro. They said it was not cleared of the “find my iPhone” which it was. This went back and forth for weeks with no success. I told them to send me the phone back. It’s been two weeks with no tracking and no reply of substance. Who can I contact to escalate things??”
“If there were a no star option, I would take that.
I bought an iphone 11 because that's what I had before and I didnt want to buy all the cases and accessories.
I bought extra insurance warranty/protection as I dont have much luck with phones so I thought I would be covered. I was very wrong.
While trying to use the phone, apple pay didnt work, blue tooth didnt work, and the camera wouldnt focus. It was worse than my previous phone.
As I tired to focus images, the image would shake, the phone would heat up and start crackling. The photos looked like I was sprinting and videos didnt even work.
I had taken the phone out of the case to put it in a box to return it and dropped it and a small crack in the corner appeared. When I returned it, Back Market wouldnt take it back as it was damaged.
I tried to contact the insurers to advise that I didnt want the phone any more and that I wanted a refund.
They refunded me my £50 extra insurance cover and called it a day.
Terrible service, waste of money, now I have a useless phone that doesnt work that I paid £250 for. Do not use this company”
“I placed an order this item 4 week ago and I’m still without a laptop or a refund.
The item did arrive on the specified day, which was good news. Was packaged well and look as expected. However that was the end of the positive experience.
The laptop was still in the previous owners name. I called apple and they confirmed the same. Meaning the owner could see the location of the laptop and my name and home address and had the power to remotely wipe the laptop. A complete data breach.
BackMarket said the only way to rectify it would be for it to be returned to the seller or previous owner. I’m quite baffled how it manages to get to me like this given that back market charge a fee to check all devices. The laptop should never have got to me like this. I was told it would take another 5 working days for this to be rectified. Then I get a text message from a personal number to ask for the passcode. Felt this was very unprofessional and I felt very uneasy about this and the fact they now have access to all my personal details. So I asked for a refund. After multiple attempts to request a refund I had no reply so I felt I had no choice but to contact PayPal.
After contacting PayPal I finally get a reply from BackMarkwt who say they will only refund me if I close the case with PayPal.
PayPal asvised strongly against this as they said I would no longer be protected and there is no reason why they can’t process a refund with the case open. PayPal said if they were to refund me, then this would mark the case as resolved and would close it.
BackMarket claimed they were refunding but there was zero evidence of the same. No successful or unsuccessful refund. They claim they can’t process a refund with a claim open and I have to close the claim to get my money back.
So all in all, this negative experience has been drawn out for a month. Not happy at all. I’ve purchased refurbished products from other companies and never ever experienced such poor service”
“Terrible company to be avoided - not worth it, really avoid!
I bought a laptop with an English keyboard. They sent me a Spanish keyboard with French stickers on top of it. The screen has several bad stains on it, showing all white.. which makes watching it a pain! The sound does not work at all! They sent me a dodgy charger also which weirdly weighs so much, it doesnt stay in the laptop and bends the C port. The battery also only lasts 1 hour.. I tried to return it and they offered me a discount and to send stickers for a new keyboard.. they then took two weeks to say that they were not able to send me keyboard stickers, by which time the month return policy had finished and i became stuck with the laptop. The customer service team also changed language a couple of times - which I couldnt understand.. Avoid at all costs, i tried to save some money but have ended up losing a lot of money. Shame on you Backmarket!”
“A hit or miss..i ordered a 2019 macbook pro and paid an extra $200 for it to be in “excellent condition” I at least expected it to be lightly used with a couple scratches..some sides are chipped and the rubber lining on the screen looks like it’s been melting + it runs slow if you have 2 or more applications open which is very annoying..sometimes it is just slow with no applications open at all. they obviously don’t look at whether you ordered it “fair” or “excellent” it’s just a matter of luck.”
Mensen koop hier NIETS!!!!
“The stopped working after 4 months and they declined to repair or replace due to the seller not warranting.
See the response:
After checking our system, I see that with the previous return, the seller declared warranty exclusion for your device due to physical damage and returned without performing any repair. They informed me on the warranty exclusion upon arrival of your device. They'll return the device shortly and I will be sharing with you the tracking information. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to provide a repair/replacement or refund for this order. You can explore our trade-in option from here: https://www.backmarket.com/en-us/buyback
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!”
“If the device is fine, you’ll have no problems. If there is an issue with your device, expect terrible customer service and a battle for them to uphold your basic consumer rights. I had an issue with my MacBook and I returned it for a refund. I was told it wasn’t covered by their warranty due to water damage. I did not cause the damage so it was sent to me with water damage (you’re not allowed to fully inspect the device upon arrival). The reviews make it sounds like this is a common scam.
I have spent 4 months contacting them daily for them to issue a refund. They have finally done so because the device was ‘lost in transport’. The customer service is a chat bot that won’t answer your questions and they are based in France. There is no contact number to speak to anyone.
I’d give 0 stars if I could.”
“Their guarantee ain't worth diddly!! I bought a refurbished pixel 6. Suddenly (about 6 months later), I noticed the bottom corner of the screen had popped up. I *thought* it was because I'd dropped it (from a height of about 2 1/2 feet onto a wood floor -- a drop that my other phones have survived no problemo) a couple of days prior. The damage was so subtle. Admitting I'd dropped the phone was my first mistake. That *IMMEDIATELY* invalidates the warranty. So...unless you're an amazing person who never drops their phone, don't rely on the warranty. Well, I couldn't push the corner back down *into the case*. So I had a guy at a cell phone repair shop look at it. -- Invalidation number 2, because you're not supposed to let 3rd parties look at the damage! But he concluded that the corner had been pushed apart because the battery is getting ready to explode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, *THAT* is *NOT* my fault!!! But all of a sudden, customer service is very quiet.”
“Do NOT order from this company.
They are stealing our money!!
I order an iPhone and never received it, and they will not give me refund!!
They say they need to do an investigation, the order I place was not a big box they sent someone else order to a different address they are saying it was my order! It was not. They treat there customers very bad by not responding and by not giving back refunds. I do not recommend this company to NO one.
No refund has been giving to me and I paid over 350. dollars!”
“Sold me a defective MacBook Pro that won’t charge. I returned it under warranty. They had five days to repair the device or send a replacement. More than a month later, I still have no working laptop. They refuse to refund me my money. They claimed that the laptop was damaged during shipping. Made me send over photos including my IDs. I filed a complaint with the BBB. They sent me back the laptop but it still won’t turn on or charge. The laptop was also never damaged. They have been lying and stone walling me for the longest.”
