“Shed arrived with a ‘shed load’ of damage. Doors were smashed, pieces of cladding were broken, dead knot holes everywhere, felt damaged and very poor hardware. When I tried to get this sorted it was clear they wanted to just push the problem down the road and hope it went away. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unfortunately it wouldn’t let me add photos to show the extent of how poor this was.”
“I have only rated as poor because shire garden buildings that elbec use were useless and lied to me continuously about the delivery and then admitted late in the afternoon the delivery driver wasn't even in work the day of delivery. They had to re arrange delivery for the following week when I had to take a second day off work. Elbec was ok to deal with and there customer services dealt with my complaint.”
“Very poor service, your sending me a review form for something I don't yet have and you have cancelled delivery of twice now. You refuse to acknowledge any blame stating its manufacturing or its machinery braking down. I have organised men twice to be onsite to take delivery and erect sunhouse and twice you have failed to deliver.Customer is obviously extremely unhappy as well.
You cover yourself by saying until it's delivered customer should not make any move with respect to organising any works towards erection etc of structure.
You also refuse to accept any blame for your lack of customer service. I was given a have it or don't have it feeling from staff showing no respect to the fact you have had my money for a long time now, some kind of acknowledgment of blame must eventually be layed at your door but you blame the other person all the time.
I have lost over £400 in hotel bookings for staff as we are away from base for this installation, I was tolled I should have waited how can you wait to organise hotels and staff without booking things.
In short I am expecting some kind of compensation because I have to explain this to customer and lose money on hotels, your policy of no blame doesn't cover your commitment to customer service etc.
I hope you have decency to reply to this if only to show some sort of customer service,”

“As an ex mechanical/electrical engineer ,the instructions weren’t very explicit and negatively the holding down kits were wrong-even when your subcontractor sent 2 replacements they were the same,so l gave up complaining and bought real rawlplugs industrial types—on the other hand it was reasonably priced so 3 out of 5 stars.

“Very thin and more holes than a sieve !!! Roof felt like paper , doors don’t meet in middle , gust of wind will blow it over. Floor very poor , feels like you’re going to go through it. Would not recommend”
“Your service was good, the Shires building was extremely poor. I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase a similar Shires buiding.
Knot holes in in timber, wall panels were not square, timber was rough finished.
Had to rebuild window panel as tongue and groove timbers did not match up adjacent wall panel. Support timbers in roof too weak as roof sags and a further support bracket is needed which I shall make.”
“Well made easy to assemble and good delivery service and the delivery chap was friendly rang to let us know when arriving spoke to grandson about the play house very friendly and polite easy to assemble”
“Overall the shed is quite good value for money, considering how much the prices have risen.
Good points-
All hardware included, screws, fixings, brackets, locks etc.
Nice pieces of wood to trim the corners.
Easy to put together.
Bad points-
Frame is made of cheap batons which easily warp if you leave the shed about a week or two before putting together.
Roof panels are only 9mm osb, not very strong as you need to get on top to fix the felt etc. Also roof panels barely big enough, virtually zero overlap front and back of walls.
Roof strut in middle not same angle as ends meaning roof drops in the middle, so the felt wrinkles.
Doors shrunk or not wide enough to start with, 15-20mm gap.”
“The greenhouse wasn't equipped with the correct sized doors so we had to plane them. We also saw on the website that the marketing showed the greenhouse was painted already, so it was misleading. We like the greenhouse now it is done, but the doors are stiff and the hinges were not right for the doors. I wouldn't buy from this company again.”
“We ordered a metal shed. No response for a couple for weeks and then I rang to see what was going on. The lady on the phone sorted it out so that was great and the shed turned up a few days later. Shed was fine and is up and looking great. However, the metal "base" which I ordered with it turned out to be just a few lengths of flimsy bent metal with no instructions, no fittings to put them together and no discernible purpose, given that as the shed is floorless you have to put it on a concrete base. Bit of a waste of money that. So all in all, a bit mixed.”
“Ordered large wooden planter and trellis but delivery arrived without the trellis. Had to wait a few weeks for the delivery as it was and not happy after waiting that time that delivery not complete. Are currently still waiting the remaining trellis delivery and hoping will be received as advised. Do not want to cancel and return what we have already received as very good quality . Not sure if supplier or DX delivery issue.”
