“Terrible service, had to send photos constantly with back and forth emails regarding the condition of the shed and in the end was told astonishingly to send slats of wood back that we had issues with for replacement.

“My greenhouse is beautiful but it arrived with a warped door which does not close properly and is putting a massive strain on the door fittings.i contacted you for help and you passed me over to the suppliers who in my opinion are clowns who are fobbing me off.very unhappy customer.”

“Poor design at upper levels - roof has no overhang at front and back, apex parts do not fit flush with tops of walls so lots of gaps to fill to keep it watertight, door does not fit square at top as the door is not supplied with all four corners being right angled and one long edge is not straight all the way up. The base fitted well though with the walls, no gaps. Flimsy hinges, not long enough, won’t weather well. Roof felt was in roll and squashed flat, so when unrolled it was cracked across every 10-12 centimetres and thus had to be replaced - Elbec acted quickly to contact Shire Buildings in North Cambridgeshire to send another piece of roof felt, which did arrive intact by courier. The shed looks good on the sales photos but is not of the good quality anyone would expect from the price. I was therefore disappointed. It was also disappointing that from reading the sales literature Elbec appeared to make the sheds they sell, but in the case of this tool shed it was not made by them at all. So whilst the marketing information leaves you thinking you are buying a good quality Elbec produced shed, at least in relation to this tool shed, there is a quality control issue and they used an unrelated supplier elsewhere.
After a lot of filling of gaps, changing door hinges and door furniture to weatherproof by buying better quality, and asking for new roof felt, buying new pieces of OSB board for roof and cutting to ensure overhang all round, I now have a shed which is functional and weatherproof and should last quite a few years!”

“Bought a 10 x 7 Shire shed to replace an old one. While the product appears OK, delivery was a nightmare!
First shed arrived 10 day later via Shire's delivery contractor Pallex Group stacked 10 feet high on a pallet which had fallen over in the van and was damaged. There was no way the driver could get it out of the van and I was certainly not going to accept broken components.
15 days later another contractor delivered a second shed also stacked 10 feet high but would not bring it off the road into our drive because it is gravel. The only way to get the parts off the pallet was to cut the plastic strap holding them but this would have resulted in the whole thing falling over. Had to secure it by putting rope around and anchoring it to my car before unloading the pallet!”

“This took us 3 days to put up. It was the most complicated structure to put together. The doors didn't fit correctly and we had to really work at getting them to fit. We ended up with only 1 window opening as we couldn't get the second one to fit well enough to allow it to open. A lot of the wood was splintered and was badly cut. The final finished greenhouse is ok but has gaps in the frame which allows water in. Very disappointed for the price.”

“Just don't buy it. Within two weeks of it going up the roof and window leaked and one of the windows from the shed to the greenhouse popped open, even though it is, theoretically fixed. It's shoddy. The customer service, which is MGP not Elbec, is rude and unhelpful. Even before installation it's a real battle to persuade them it should go in your garden. To be honest, I wish I hadn't bothered.”

“This product gets one star because the final shed is a decent enough shed for my bike. However, it loses multiple stars because it is almost impossible to assemble correctly, especially by yourself. I enlisted the help of a professional handyman, and it took us 3 full days to assemble. The instructions (both paper and video from the Absco website) were appalling, and incredibly difficult to follow. The components didn't match what was needed, and the panels had holes where they weren't supposed to be, and no holes where there were. The screws and rivets were of poor quality, so we had to buy some more. I would advise caution before buying this because of the intense frustration experienced when assembling.”

“Purchased a Sun Pent Shed June 2025
Made of cheap inferior wood that either shrinks or swells depending on the weather, windows that do not open and ship lap panels which are now lifting.
Please see my original comments regarding Elbec and Shire on Trust pilot.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid unless you want a shed that is not fit for the purpose, and a company that gives you the runaround and has NO intention of sorting the problems out.”

We would like to apologise for the ongoing issues you have experienced with your building, particularly given that your original order was placed in May 2025 with delivery in June 2025.
We are sorry to hear that the door became slightly warped following assembly. As timber is a natural material, it can respond to changes in temperature and moisture levels, which may result in some movement over time.
When you contacted us in late July 2027, we noted that the exterior of the building had been treated. As outlined in the aftercare guidelines provided with the instructions, we recommend that both the interior and exterior surfaces are fully treated to help protect the timber and minimise the effects of moisture.
We also advised that the paint colour applied does not act as a full wood preservative. To ensure adequate protection, a suitable preservative treatment is required in addition to decorative finishes.
Timber is a natural material, and variations in grain, knots and appearance are normal characteristics rather than defects. All of our products are manufactured using graded timber that meets industry standards, and with appropriate treatment and maintenance, they are designed to provide long-lasting performance.
