First, let me say that I’ve always known that one can’t exercise their way out of a poor diet. I’ve tried all sorts of exercise machines, videos, gyms, etc, literally spending tens of thousands of dollars over many decades. Unbeknownst to me back then, what I was missing—or lacking—until I found MyBodyTutor was accountability outside of myself. It was painfully obvious to me that, as much as I thought or wanted to be the Lone Ranger, it wasn’t working. There’s a saying, and it goes something like this, IF you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got, oh so true… I retired at 57 in 2011, and was somewhere around 205 lbs at a tad under 6’ tall, with a BMI in the very obese range, no energy either. As with most guys, much of my weight was in my midsection, which I knew was a very bad thing. Fast forward 8 years to 65, and along came hypertension, and having to take BP meds. By early 2022, I had got my weight down to the low to mid 180’s through exercise only, so I was 20+ pounds lighter but still had the same huge midsection. My struggle by then was 100% food-related, or should I say I was a big time junk food junkie, BUT then I found MyBodyTutor… I was hoping to lose around 20 pounds and, more importantly, 3-6" off my midsection. By then I was just a little over 181 pounds, so I was shooting for 160 lbs give or take. As usual for me anyway, the big "IF" factor was: can I lose the inches off my stomach, which is more tied to diet AND exercise? I had doubts about whether I could stick with any program long enough to get the results I was hoping for. So, I called MyBodyTutor, hoping to get/find someone to talk to about the program, figuring I’d likely be talking to a customer service rep, etc. I was surprised that the person answering my phone call was none other than the founder of MyBodyTutor, Adam. After a fairly lengthy and informative conversation with him, I felt that I had found the one program out there that was suited for me. We both agreed that no one can or will stick with any program that’ll require one to eat foods that they flat out don’t like. He convinced me that I would indeed be able to eat all my favorite foods with a few tweaks here and there, and the rest is history… I graduated from MyBodyTutor after 11 months, and my hopes were not only met but exceeded well beyond my personally stated goals. Lost a bunch of weight and inches from everywhere. I still eat those foods "I LIKE," but in moderation, and I typically exercise in some form or fashion 5-6 days a week. Thanks to my Tutor/Coach, she worked tirelessly over those 11 months to make sure I had all the necessary tools to fly solo, as we both called it. I eat much better, exercise regularly, and I know that I’ll never be that totally out of shape person ever again, because and thanks to her. I started at 181+ pounds, eventually got down to 149+ pounds, but that’s too low, so as of 3/4/2023, I’m at 152+ pounds. I discovered the low 150’s work best for me. BUT my biggest success, I feel, is that after 3+ years, I’m no longer having to take any BP meds, and that’s really a great feeling/achievement in my book. Again, for me, the ONLY program that either could or would work was to be allowed to eat those few foods I really like, which I did. Also, I had the most fantastic, caring, hard-working, knowledgeable Tutor/Coach, who was so supportive. It’s rare if you can find someone who truly cares about you, the client, your goals, and your success. So, the BIG difference for me was continuing to eat the foods that "I like", and having such a wonderful coach helping me to help myself… If one is on the fence about whether this program will work for you - it will if you’re willing to put in the work, listen to your coach, and stick with it. I call it the snowball effect, the more weight and inches one loses the more it makes you want to keep on keeping on, if you will. As far as the cost, once you find success, as you will, you’ll find, as I did, that it was the best investment you'll ever make. Give it a try, and you’ll thank yourself, your coach, and MyBodyTutor for giving you your life back… I’ve referred to it as the old and new me, AND the new me will never see the old me again because I just won’t let it happen. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Working with My Body Tutor has been a great experience! With the help of my smart, kind and compassionate MBT tutor, Lenora, I was able to completely refashion my daily intake of food in terms of calories, but most especially regarding the type and quality of food I eat. MBT has set me up with good eating patterns that will be with me for the rest of my life, so thank you very much, MyBodyTutor, for your expertise and your support!! (I'm more than half way to my goal of losing 12 lbs. 😀)

I’ve struggled with my weight for 40+ years. MyBodyTutor is the first program that saw me for who I am, my lifestyle and my habits and gave me a toolkit to help me rewrite my eating operating system to lose weight. It really is the last program you’ll ever need.

I was looking for a way to have more accountability with my food intake and found so much more with MyBodyTutor. I knew that I needed a more frequent, personal touch than other programs offer. I benefited tremendously from daily personalized feedback and weekly calls with my coach. I have lost weight many times before, but this is the first time I feel like I did it the “right” way, by caring for my body well and implementing daily habits that make me feel best, physically and mentally. My coach was knowledgeable, highly responsive, invested in maximizing my personal well-being, and always struck the right balance between nudging me toward change and consistency in a very compassionate way. This is also the first time I have confidence that I will be able to maintain the changes made without regaining the weight lost (and then some). This is because I have gained both a better scientific understanding of all of the key components of weight and health, as well as the key elements of my personal well-being. MyBodyTutor is life changing, the best program on the market, and I highly recommend it!

I thought that I was doing everything right, but I had accumulated belly fat and I had a chocolate habit that was out of control. With MyBodyTutor, not only did daily accountability work, but I learned quite a few things! Lenora, my fantastic MyBodyTutor coach, got to know me and my routines. I upleveled eating and exercise in ways that were customized for me. Lenora's suggestions about foods to include or skip, what to do when having a craving, how to pay attention to fullness, and many others, were keys to my success. I lost 8 pounds of fat, gained muscle, changed the way I view food and eating, and added weight and high intensity interval training to my workouts.

I highly recommend the MyBodyTutor program. It's a well executed experience from day one and the thought they put into partnering you with a coach that is the right fit for you personally, drastically increases your odds of achieving your fitness, nutrition and physique goals. Also just the structure of the program is really designed to guard you against your own personal pitfalls in the day to day challenges you face in eating well and working out consistently. I'm in the best shape of my life a year after starting and it was exactly what I needed to get to a level I was never able to on my own.

I've lost and put on about 210 pounds, 30 pounds at a time, in my adult lifetime. I've used Weight Watchers 2-3 times and self-control the other times. But it was mostly about depriving myself, which wasn't sustainable. Before I started MyBodyTutor, I was pre-diabetic and terrified that I would cross over into full diabetes. I also worried that my liver would develop cirrhosis, even though I don't drink alcohol. Yeah, that's how poorly I ate. Also, despite being very athletic and physically fit in college (2.5% body fat), before MyBodyTutor, I'd watch TV commercials showing people working out, and I couldn't relate to the desire to physically exert my body like they did in the commercials. I couldn't even remember what that desire felt like. Movement was difficult, and I often found myself out of breath just climbing a flight of stairs. And when people joke about not being able to tie your own shoes, that's a real thing. I actually took a video selfie trying to tie my shoes so I'd never forget that pain. I couldn't bear the thought of going back to 'clean' eating. I'd developed terrible eating habits of shoveling food into my mouth every night. I enjoyed gorging and didn't think I could turn that desire/addiction off. I called it eating "to the pain," which I borrowed from The Princess Bride. In other words, I wouldn't stop at full. I'd eat until I was uncomfortable. Then, after the discomfort subsided, I would eat again even though I was still full. But I hoped to get to a place where I could freely move, tie my shoes, not constantly fear for my health, and look good in clothes (short and fat is hard to shop for). Today, I have a healthy relationship with food and, more importantly, with my body. I'm able to coach myself throughout the day with reminders about skills I've learned, reasons I'm doing what I'm doing, and goals I've still yet to meet. I still have days when I eat for fun (but no longer "to the pain"), but those days are planned now. Sunday is my day for fun eating, but I find that when it's part of a plan, I don't feel bad about it anymore. And that makes returning to my plan on Monday morning not only easy but also something I look forward to. My total weight loss has been 26 pounds. I still have 20 more pounds to lose, but my coach has equipped me with the skills and tools I need to lose the weight on my own and to keep it off. In the past, I celebrated my first day off a diet by indulging in foods I had missed out on. But my first days on my own after MyBodyTutor were more like the feeling a teen has after receiving his/her license - I couldn't wait to use my new skills out there on my own. Haley showed me how to change my relationship with food, but in an acceptable way (i.e., if I didn't accept it, it wouldn't last). So instead of eating pizza until I was in pain, I would slowly savor two slices, which turned out to be even more satisfying. If I desired a cookie, I would eat one slowly and savor it over a 10-15 minute window, feeling satisfied afterward. Instead of replacing pizza and burgers with kale and water (note the sarcasm), I simply ADDED vegetables to my plate and made a point of eating them before moving on to the less healthy options. That usually changed my mindset by the time I reached the "junk" food. She also taught me to have a plan - to look ahead at the week and prepare for the things that would be out of the ordinary (a business dinner, baseball game, long road trips, etc.). By having a plan, I didn't throw in the towel when those moments arrived. On that note, fitness became a habit thanks to Haley's unique strategy - Just Show Up. During our initial discovery call, she asked what I thought a reasonable starting point for exercise would be. Knowing that I was completely sedentary, I suggested that I start with walking 30-minutes per day for 6 days per week. Her response? "Okay, how about 15 minutes per day with 3 days on and 1 day off?" That gave me a very realistic daily goal. There were days when going outside wasn't realistic, so I would walk in my house for 15 minutes. Her response was, "You showed up." Now, there are days when I push myself, and there are others when I "Just Show Up." Either way, I'm moving a lot more now, I don't dread it, and I continue to push myself more and more, but at my pace. She also taught me to accept reality - there will be days when I don't follow my plan... days when I eat to the pain again - and to give myself grace when those days come, recognizing how quickly and easily I can get back on track. This was huge because it taught me to stop sabotaging my eating strategy just because of a slip-up.

I highly recommend MyBodyTutor! I haven't been this weight in 2 - 3 years. I'm also shocked each time I look at my face in the mirror. Sometimes I feel like the weight loss isn't real, but then I see that it is and it makes me smile. The one thing I didn't think would happen...sticking to this program and keeping my promise to myself. I'm a fixer of everyone else's problems, but I don't devote a lot of effort to fixing my own things. Now I'm working on that and keeping those promises. Thank you so very much for your great company, resources, and most of all, my coach Heather. She rocks! She isn't just a diet or workout coach, she's a life coach. She helps me turn the ups and downs into positive movements forward. She reminds me to give myself grace, as well. That's a hard thing to do but that reminder is very helpful. She's the BEST!

I started my year at 18% body-fat :( I needed accountability. I needed someone to call me out on all the “little things” I was doing that was keeping me from making progress. I needed more consistency than I was giving myself and MyBodyTutor has really given me that. Plus, I was able to lose 11 pounds reduce my body fat by more than 4%, but more importantly change my mindset, psychology and habits. I highly recommend MyBodyTutor!

I highly recommend MyBodyTutor! Thank you for helping me regain discipline in my approach to everything from food, water, sleep and exercise- to really help me focus on what matters most. And also to help me understand this is a journey and it’s ok to err sometimes, but the bounce back is more important. You should be really proud of the work you do and the positive impact it has on people’s lives- specifically mine!

MyBodyTutor helped me fill in the missing pieces that were stopping me from being successful. I had a gym membership for decades, I knew how to make salads and I knew what was healthy. I made no progress for years even with a ton of knowledge. I needed feedback to help me define what was entertainment vs. what was fuel, what were the right and wrong quantities of food and what were the right combinations to be successful. The most important feedback I received highlighted the small mistakes that were stopping me from making the type of progress I was looking for. I wasn't even conscious of the mistakes. My tutor showed me what I was missing or what I needed to stop doing and I course-corrected. I've lost more than 60 pounds. I fit into smaller clothes, and I’m doing better in my career and life. I have more energy, and I feel a lot better. I have better tools now to manage my diet, and I don’t need a restrictive diet program to get results. There isn't a one size fits all program, but this worked for me because I was receptive to the feedback and focused on progress vs. excuses. The feedback from a real person makes a difference. Other programs, in my opinion, focus on exercise or food plans that don’t work for every individual. Everybody is different and needs a different solution. After the program, my momentum is continuing because I understand what my model for success looks like and what works for my specific lifestyle. I have a successful blueprint that I'll keep forever. If you're thinking about joining, but aren't sure, frame the cost as an investment. How much would you give someone to be X pounds lighter? I also thought the investment and risk of a few months were minimal compared to the amount I would normally spend eating out.

Joining MyBodyTutor was one of the best decisions I have made. I knew I wanted to change my eating habits. In fact, I had no eating habits! There was no consistency in what I ate on a daily basis. I struggled with emotional eating or eating just out of boredom. After a year and a half, I now have consistent eating habits. I know what portions I need and what foods work for me and how to stick to that. I couldn’t have done this without my coach at MyBodyTutor working closely with me, helping me figure out what works and what doesn’t. There are different kinds of coaches at MyBodyTutor to help you with your specific goals. It took trial and error to find the right coach for me. Finding the right coach was very important for me and was a game changer for my health and goals. My coach familiarized herself with my eating patterns and triggers and got to know me very closely as a person, which was all tied to what I was eating and how I was eating. I have successfully re-learnt how to eat and how to navigate some triggers such as emotional eating. I now eat food for fuel instead of “using” food as a stress buster or feeling better. Slowly building consistent food habits with my coach was key for me. Thank you for providing thIs service.

I've tried dieting on my own, Weight Watchers, working out constantly...I was just so disappointed in myself. I knew I could do better. I felt like in all other areas of my life I was strong and successful, but when it came to food, I always let myself down. What I was missing were the daily check-ins, the accountability, and the encouragement. When I found MyBodyTutor, I was hopeful but had some doubts, too. My fear was that this would not work and I'd be in the same position. I struggled with consistency over time. I hoped I would lose 10-15 lbs, but I ended up losing 23 lbs and was at a weight I could not ever remember being at. I lost about 9 lbs more than I expected to...some people told me I looked too thin...for over a year. When I felt I was backsliding over the holidays, I re-joined for 2 months just to get back to my good habits. I am back where I want to be and will continue to call on MyBodyTutor if I need more support. What I loved about the program was the daily check-in and the positive feedback. Even when I messed up or didn't stick to my plan, the tutors were supportive and encouraged me to keep going. I loved the saying - "you have the discomfort of skipping the cookie now or the discomfort of your jeans not fitting...but you're going to have some discomfort, so pick which one is more important." Being overweight is not good for us...physically, mentally, emotionally. If you're like me, it bleeds over into other areas of your life and makes us doubt ourselves and our self-worth. It's not rocket science to figure out what to do; it is challenging to do it consistently. MyBodyTutor sticks with you and gives you the support to keep going. Invest in yourself...commit to however long it takes and keep reaching out when you need the support. You are worth it!!!

Can't say enough about MyBodyTutor, Adam, and Abby, my coach. They showed up in my life at just the right time, spoke directly to my needs and issues, and were non-judgmental and encouraging. I had a hard time succeeding at first, because who doesn't? But they stuck with me and eventually I found my motivation and succeeded in losing weight. I feel I have the right motivation and tools to succeed moving forward and feel comfortable navigating this on my own.

I was nervous about joining Body Tutor, but it changed my life. I lost 10 lbs. and gained tools that will last me a lifetime. I learned how to decipher whether I'm hungry or want to use food to self-soothe. Jessica was an amazing coach. She offered actionable solutions when I was struggling and would even look at restaurant menus to help me pick healthier choices when I knew I was going out to eat. I recommend Body Tutor to anyone trying to lose weight or who wants a better relationship with food.

I have always done a fair amount of exercise, so I wasn't really looking to change much about that. I was needing guidance on portion control, mindless eating, and tweaking my nutrition. I was struggling with a lack of tone in my body. I was doing strength training 5 days a week for 10 months but not seeing much of a difference in how my clothes fit or how my body looked. I felt a lot stronger, so I knew the strength training was making a difference, but my body didn't look different to me. I searched on the web for a nutrition and fitness coach, and that's when I found MyBodyTutor. After I talked to Adam, I signed right up! Right now, I am in a really good place mentally and physically. I worked with a MyBodyTutor coach for 6 months. I have gone down two sizes in jeans/ pants, and I have lost close to 15 lbs. My biggest challenge has always been that I have a pear-shaped body. My lower half is very disproportionate to my upper half. I have always been a size small up top (for most things) and a large on the bottom. I have a small waist but thick thighs. I finally feel like my lower and upper body are more proportionate. I have bought several new pairs of pants/ jeans, and I haven't had to get the waist taken in. All of this hasn't been great for my wallet since I have had to shop for new clothes...but is it ever fun trying on sizes I never thought I'd ever wear! I learned so much from joining MyBodyTutor. First, let me start with my coach. Sandra was amazing! We connected on so many levels. She was the perfect coach for me. I would say that if you join and don't connect with your coach reach out and ask for a change. The right coach makes all the difference! The first big takeaway for me was the hunger scale. 1 being starving and 5 being Christmas dinner full. She told me I should eat when I am a 2 and stop when I am a 3. A 3 is when you are satisfied and no longer hungry but not at all full. This has been huge!! Now I try to pay more attention to when I am hungry and when I want food for other reasons. I also eat more slowly and more mindfully. This allows me to notice when I am satisfied and I don't suddenly become full and uncomfortable (and mad at myself!). Sandra also really had me focus on how much sugar and sodium I was eating. Now I look at all labels for added sugar and sodium content. Wow! This is fascinating! The less sugar and sodium that I ate, the less I felt like I needed it. That's not to say that I don't eat sugar anymore, but I am actually quite satisfied with a small bite of something sweet, and I have found better alternatives that satisfy my sweet cravings. I also follow the "bread or booze rule": one or the other at dinner but not both. And with every glass of wine, I have a glass of water in between. These are all small things, but they have had a big impact. Another huge component of my success was tweaking how I was working out. When I signed up I had been doing a strength training program for 10 months, 5 days a week. I felt like I was getting stronger but wasn't seeing the body transformation I was hoping for. Sandra had me focus on training to "failure". I was working out and feeling quite satisfied with just completing the workout. I had the consistency piece in place, but I wasn't really challenging myself. She encouraged me to up my weights, and this has made a big difference. As Adam says, "discomfort is growth," and this has been so true with transforming my body and tweaking my workouts to be more effective. Another change I have made since joining MyBodyTutor is that I drink more water...a lot more water! I think I might have been a dehydrated camel before. I have less headaches now, and my digestion is much better. I'm sure there are loads of other benefits going on inside my body as well. With changing my strength training focus on building more muscle, I have also become more aware of getting enough protein. Tracking this for a short period of time was really eye opening. Now I have some go-to high-protein foods that I make sure are in my diet. I really like how MyBodyTutor has you take pictures of your food and not count calories or macros. This is so much more simple. I tried using a calorie and macro counting app, but that lasted about 2 weeks. I feel like I am equipped with excellent tools for moving forward in my life as a more healthy version of me. I didn't need to lose a ton of weight, but I was unhappy with where I was. MyBodyTutor can work for everyone needing support with being healthier, better versions of themselves. I am so glad I took the plunge. Thank you, Adam and Sandra, for all your support!!

I had tried WW, Metabolic Research, and Keto, just to name a few, but what was missing was addressing the emotional side of my eating and drinking habits. I never thought I could make it to my goal weight. It was just too hard, too stressful, too everything. But when I saw a flyer for MyBodyTutor, I was hopeful that I could lose at least 10 pounds. Through MyBodyTutor, I was introduced to intermittent fasting. Not only have I lost 10+ pounds, but I also feel better than ever. I'll likely keep doing IF from here on out. What makes this program different is that it's not a band-aid; it gets to the root cause of overeating. Also, my coach, Amy, was the best. She balanced using encouragement, accountability, and tough love to get me to my goal.
