I had some really bad eating habits. I was super sick during both my pregnancies, so I had to learn how to eat when I was nauseous or not hungry. Those habits continued, and I completely forgot how to tell when I was actually physically hungry. I was emotional and stress eating, especially in the late evenings. My other problem was my heart condition causes low blood pressure, so not only did I need medication to raise my blood pressure but I also needed to constantly drink lots of water and eat loads of salt. Most foods with lots of salt are not very good for you, and I gravitated to everything processed and salty like chips and crackers to meet my salt needs. I was doubtful that it was possible for someone like me with all of these health problems to be able to lose weight or feel good and confident. I thought because I can't full out run, jump up and down, or lift crazy weights without passing out, it was probably impossible for me to feel fit and healthy, let alone look like it. Before having children, I never had to do anything to stay fit. I gained a ton of weight with my first pregnancy but lost it all after pretty quickly with breastfeeding. I gained half as much in my second pregnancy and felt great, but I had an emergency c-section and a sick preemie baby in the NICU. Recovery was difficult for me, and the weight did not melt off like before. With two pregnancies back to back, I had built up a lot of bad habits about eating that were necessary to survive nausea, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, but not what my body needed anymore. Before I had a chance to try and lose weight and get healthy, I was diagnosed with neurally mediated syncope and, later on, asthma and Irlen's Syndrome. I spent several years learning how to navigate my low blood pressure and get the right medications and dosage on board for all my different things. Throughout all of this, I was increasingly discouraged with my weight gain and, at times, panicked. My cardiologist's answer to my concern was using the as seen on TV seated bicycle pedals you get for your 90-year-old grandma to exercise with. I became extremely discouraged and genuinely believed there was nothing more I could do; this was my life now. My health complications kept me from being able to do any diet or fasting. Because of my low blood pressure, I had to be very careful about what types of exercise movements I could do without passing out. Nothing I ever came across seemed like a safe option for me. After continuous discouragement every time I stepped on the scale and saw the number had grown, I decided to google accountability for weight loss. MyBodyTutor was the first thing to pop up and the first and only thing I clicked on. As I explored the website, I found myself laughing out loud because it was so crazy to me what I was seeing. I later told my husband if I had sat down and written out what I thought the ideal program would be for weight loss for me, this would have matched perfectly. It seemed too perfect. For example, Adam's phone number is right on the website for all to see, and you could call him up and reach him. After a few days, I mustered up the courage to call the number and see what happened. Adam answered right away, and I started my weight loss journey. I wanted to learn how to thrive despite my past experiences and health complications. I wanted to learn how to be the best version of myself, so I could be proud and confident in myself and love and serve my family better. I deeply desired to find a way to be at peace with my health. I wanted to feel strong and confident and not like a hopeless victim of a heart condition anymore. I wanted to love myself because I know I lead by example as a mother. I can't ask anything of my children that I am unwilling to do myself. I was tired of feeling defeated. The more I read and learned about the program I knew it was for me. I saw it could be catered to me and my specific limitations or needs based on my health history. My only hesitation was the cost. I had a real battle going on in my head because I was desperate for help and I felt like I had finally found it and that gave me immense hope. If I am being completely truthful here I also felt ashamed and frustrated with myself. I was mad that I couldn't figure out how to do this on my own. I felt weak because I needed help. It seemed unfair to my family that they were going to have to give up things to make room in the budget for me and this new expense. After visiting with my husband and some soul searching I realized that it was okay to need help. It was okay that I wanted and needed encouragement! My desire to be the best version of myself and find a way to thrive despite my health problems was good. I could not love and serve my family to the best of my abilities until I loved myself. I decided it was time to learn how to love and respect me and I knew that my family was going to support me because they wanted me to see and love myself the same way they did and who can put a price on that? It is different in so many ways!!! MyBodyTutor teaches a lifestyle, not something to do for a period of time, and then stop. Because of the intentional personalization and thought put into each step, from choosing a coach to the personal plans made just for you I think it is pretty impossible to fail. This part was extremely important for me because I needed someone who could cater to my low blood pressure when it came to exercise and my need for salt when it came to the food I ate. I was given tools and taught to use them to recognize and properly address emotions, stress, and real hunger. Those tools are now with me for the rest of my life, which is why MyBodyTutor's success rate is so high. My goal was to get back to my pre-babies weight, which I did, losing close to 30 pounds in total. All of my hopes were met, and so much more. I feel like I am thriving again! I am happy and confident. I feel great about my body. Yes, I still have scars and stretch marks, but they now feel like a beautiful map reminding me of where I have been and my body's strength and resilience. When I was at my heaviest, I had to stop picking up my children because I wasn't strong enough to carry them. I can now carry them around, and I never cease to be amazed at the visual when I lift my little one, thinking about how I lost as much as he weighs. I feel such confidence and peace in regard to my health. I have learned to respect my limits while still being proud of my accomplishments. I now look to food for fuel more than a band-aid or an experience, and because of that, I am enjoying different food that is much better for me. Most of all, I am proud of myself and happy to be thriving now along with my family.

Before I came to MyBodyTutor, I was always yo-yo dieting and didn't know how to stay in shape. I'd diet, lose weight, and then lose momentum and put it back on (or more). I signed up for MBT after seeing the progress made by a friend of mine. I asked for his secret, and he introduced me to MBT. I signed up for the highest level and began having daily accountability calls. The calls were extremely helpful because they kept me in check and gave me the motivation to make better food choices knowing I'd have to talk about why I ate what I ate the next day. A year and a half later, I have reduced body fat, put on a significant amount of muscle, look better, feel better, and have more energy, and more confidence. The biggest win is that I've managed to keep this up for a year and a half, which I'd never done in the past. MBT helped me form new habits that will last for life, which will be much longer now that I live a healthier lifestyle.

I tried everything. Years of yoyo dieting. Noom. Eat Right Now. What was missing was never being able to keep the weight off. I was operating from a place of scarcity and fear. "I can't eat this, and that food is bad." It was like dieting was a punishment, and there was always the knowledge that I could be "good" for a while, but it was not anything I could maintain long-term. When I heard about MyBodyTutor on the Cal Newport Podcast, my first hope was to lose the weight I wanted to lose. And then secondly, maintain that weight. There really was no doubt once I learned about the program and viewed the information on the website. I am always willing to try something new. My hope became a reality. I lost the weight I wanted to lose and have kept it off for 3 months. It has become very clear that I ate too much and too often. I now have clear tactics to manage nutrition in a way that makes me feel confident and in a manner that isn't overly restrictive. There is much more balance in my nutrition, and I am not obsessing over calories or macros. MyBodyTutor is more about the mental game. Learning to listen to your body and understanding more about why you eat than what you eat. Of course, the what is important, and I learned to fuel my body to feel good and energized by really tapping into how I felt when I ate certain foods. Having a one-on-one relationship with my coach was the best part of the experience. Krisann was an excellent guide to help me reconnect with my body and let it be my ultimate guide to better health and nutrition. Also, a shout-out to the food journaling app! It is simple and effective, and it gave me the insights I needed to take control of my choices.

My experience here with Shannon has been different than any other I have had. She has helped change how I feel about food, exercise, and weight. I am now a more intuitive, thoughtful eater. I drink water and get some exercise. She has made losing weight SO much more manageable than all of the extreme tactics that I have tried over the year. She is a positive influence not only in how I eat, but how to manage stress levels and find some more calm in my life. I have recommended this service to many people. I am sure the experience varies between tutors, but Shannon has been incredible.

MBT freed me from so much weight shame! I was raised in a family with generations of challenges in eating and body image, in this culture so many of us were raised in that values thinness. I was a naturally slim child who knew I had body image issues by the time I was seven. By puberty, I had what I would call disordered eating – I turned to food and often binged to soothe many other problems in my life. I spent the next 30 years with my weight yo-yo-ing in about a 20 pound range, so from the outside I often just looked a little overweight, but inside I felt tremendous shame and spent a large percent of my mental energy focused on my eating and weight. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 41, and the chemo put me into immediate menopause. My doctors told me that the two things I could do to maximize my odds of survival were to exercise every day and keep my weight down. I decided to focus first on building a daily exercise habit, since I had been unsuccessful for so long focusing on weight. I learned pretty quickly to exercise daily, but I struggled for several more years addressing the weight. Then I found MyBodyTutor. Going into MBT, I was really nervous that I was not going to be able to be honest about what I had eaten and why, and it was hard to imagine telling another human being my weight. I had so much shame. But my tutor met with me daily and showed so much patience and so much KINDNESS. He never made me feel badly, and he taught me many new skills and mindsets. What he said made so much sense, and it slowly dismantled my destructive mental chatter. The daily accountability was super helpful to me, and sometimes I would find myself asking “what would my coach say to me in this moment?” and that would often help me make a different choice. I think of my coach as having rewired a large percent of my brain. I wish I could say that I lost all 20 pounds and am now at the bottom end of my weight range. For a while I did reach the bottom of my weight range with a lot of guidance from my tutor, but I found that what’s required for me to maintain that weight was not worth it emotionally after so many years of spending so much brain space on my weight and eating. I decided that what was most important to me was to find a healthy weight I could comfortably maintain with my new habits. I stabilized my weight in a place I have been able to maintain for 5+ years now, and now I understand why I weigh what I do and I don’t argue with it or waste much brain space any more. I understand that I eat what I eat, and then my body decides how that translates to what I weigh. My overlays of shame and hate and obsession are largely gone, and I feel so much more peace in my life. If I indulge more than I had planned, or if I make a few choices that are not my “best self” choices, I have the confidence and knowledge to get right back on track. I could never have gotten here without the accountability, consistency, guidance, deep knowledge, and kindness I found with my tutor. I truly believe that Adam founded MyBodyTutor because he saw how many of us “out here” struggle with our weight, and you can feel that desire to help as soon as you sign up. If you’re struggling with fear and shame surrounding your weight, I hope you give MBT a try. It’s not a gimmick, and it’s not a short term band aid. It’s a long term fix, and one of the greatest things I’ve ever done for myself. I hope you do the same for yourself!

MyBodyTutor is the first program I've tried (and I've tried MANY) that actually helped me create lasting habits to improve my health and lifestyle. Working with my coach, I was able to become more mindful about what I'm eating, why I'm eating, and somehow naturally train my brain to identify why I'm eating and whether it's for hunger or for another reason. Beyond just eating habits, I was able to develop and maintain habits such as drinking more water, regularly taking my pills and supplements, and exercising regularly. This program showed me what I am capable of and has carried through to other parts of my life. I can't recommend MyBodyTutor enough if you want to develop lasting habits that improve your health and lifestyle for the long run!

I have always been someone that people considered "in shape." I was someone who played on sports teams, trained for marathons, and generally liked to move my body. But what had always been a challenge for me was feeling calm about food and confident in myself and my eating choices. My coworker, Adam, told me about MyBodyTutor, but I was worried about someone having such a clear and unfiltered look at how I eat. I didn't want to feel judged or shamed. Before MyBodyTutor, I felt anxious about food. I would cycle between really strict, no-wiggle-room, perfectionist-thinking habits, coupled with big swings of eating-everything-in-sight. My hope was that somehow I would be able to stop the cycling and come to a happy medium. I lost my goal of 7 pounds. But that's not the most important part for me. The key for me was helping to shift my mindset away from "all or nothing" thinking and towards a consistent and progressive mindset. The key was learning not to be afraid of indulgences, but to plan for them and enjoy them. MyBodyTutor was different from everything I had tried before because it was about me as an individual. My coach, Lenora (who I cannot thank enough), knew about ME. My life, my workplace, my relationships. She knew what pitfalls to watch out for and how to help me plan for specific events coming up. Other programs say they are personalized, but nothing is the same as 1 on 1 coaching. I just want to say thank you to Lenora. She was kind, genuine, encouraging, helpful, and specific. She helped me feel safe. Her feedback was actionable. And I came away with great coping mechanisms to help me long term!

This program was surprisingly effective for me. I had some doubts and fears when I began in August. But now, 9 kg lighter, all the health indicators from my Oura ring pointing north-east, and FEELING confident, I'd say it's been money and effort well spent. At the same time, I know I don't want to end up the same way as I was back when starting this program, so there's a motivation to keep this up. And it doesn’t feel like a burden! One of the coolest things about MyBodyTutor is the way you have made me feel like I've done it myself. It gives me confidence in being able to maintain good health also in the future.

I felt very frustrated that my incessant snacking ruined all my meals. I felt embarrassed that I was setting a bad example for my children by snacking all day. And I felt concerned for my intestinal health since I wasn't allowing my digestive system to rest between meals. When I found MyBodyTutor, I hoped it would change my approach to eating forever and that I'd finally be a "normal" eater. Now, I feel elated and thrilled with how I've changed. Perhaps unlike many people in this program, I wasn't looking to lose weight. My problem was that I maintained my physique in unhealthy ways (skipping meals and snacking all day). For the pure sake of vanity, I ate like my ideal self the first week because I was too embarrassed for my coach to see how I normally eat. And that week showed me that I did indeed have the ability to eat 3 normal meals per day without grazing. It was so encouraging! I essentially spent the next few months training my body and mind to expect three square meals. I no longer feel tempted by my kids' leftovers—it's a miracle! I feel so free. I don't feel like a hypocrite now in front of my kids. The pleasure of enjoying a meal when hungry was the greatest motivator for me to stop snacking. It is now so wonderfully satisfying to eat meals with hunger that snacks have lost their appeal. And if I do slip up, I am confident that I can get back to my normal meals. I suppose I've established a new normal, and it was my exact dream. Even after I finished the program, I still feel I've undergone a permanent transformation. If you are willing to change, there is no reason you can't! This is the way to do it.

I remember putting on a dress shirt while on vacation this summer and not being able to button all of the buttons. It was embarrassing. I was in fairly good shape about 4–6 years ago. I had run several races, like a 10 KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. However, during the dark days of the pandemic (2020–2021), I developed some unhealthy eating habits that I wasn't sure I could break. I have successfully lost weight before—about 20 pounds. More recently, I tried methods that worked but proved too disruptive to my lifestyle (16-8 intermittent fasting, for example). I heard about MyBodyTutor from Noah Kagan, and I hoped to lose weight. My specific goal was to reduce my body weight to the healthy range for my body mass index (BMI). I also wanted to improve my energy, increase my satisfaction with my appearance, and improve my habits around eating and exercising. I have never paid for a service like this before (or a personal trainer, etc.), and I was concerned that it was difficult to find out how long it would take to achieve my goals—would I be in this program for a year or more? But with the help of MyBodyTutor, I achieved my weight loss goal. Specifically, I lost 20.7 pounds in 112 days (from August 12 to December 2). Before I started, I expected to receive highly prescriptive diet directions, like "eat X and don't eat Y," but the MyBodyTutor approach doesn't suggest a specific diet. Instead, it's about making incremental changes. The biggest difference is receiving daily responses to my diet/movement journal entries. Every morning, I looked forward to reading the comments from my coach. It was a wonderful blend of food for thought, encouragement, and tips to improve. Imagine you had an encouraging, health-oriented friend who wanted to hear about your health journey every day. That's part of what you receive. Even better, you get subtle, effective coaching on gradually shifting your habits. During the program, I still had wine and chocolate on occasion, and that's because it's not about eliminating indulgences (though you can do that if you wish); it's about shifting your mindset and habits.

I was always hungry and wanting to eat, and I always felt like figuring out what to eat took so much time and effort. I often binge-ate snacks and my lifestyle was very sedentary (I could go for several days without leaving the house!). Due to these poor habits, I was having frequent health issues. I previously had a coach who recommended calorie and macro counting and food prep, but this was too much work for my lifestyle. I was also struggling with GI health issues that were not considered under this previous program. I didn't try much for fitness. I've tried step-count challenges and doing yoga, but neither of these really stuck. I did, however, take dance classes once a week. I heard about MyBodyTutor on Cal Newport's Deep Questions podcast. When I signed up, I hoped to have more energy and lose 20 pounds. However, my main goal was to establish a better relationship with food and exercise so that I could enjoy eating healthfully and exercising (if that's even possible). I was struggling with a rigid, fixed mindset, but I shifted from the mentality of "I can't change" to "it could be possible for me to change." However, I didn't fully believe that I CAN change. In my intake form, I wrote, "I'm not sure I fully understand how much I need to change my lifestyle to actually get the results I want (and I'm not 100% sure I actually want to change my lifestyle, but this is also improving)." In 1 year and 5 months, I dropped from 140 to 120 pounds, and this was due to changing my relationship with both eating and exercise. I have a much healthier and happier relationship with food. I don't restrict foods. I eat what I like and what makes my body feel good, and I still enjoy eating out and having ice cream and chocolate. I have also set up habits that work for me to make my meals stress-free. I tend to buy a lot of vegetables and fruits that can be quick meals or snacks, and I am happy to eat these foods instead of feeling like it is a chore. Also, I hardly ever feel the need to binge eat. When work or something in life is very stressful, I have new coping mechanisms and some self-care practices that allow me to de-stress without using food. Most importantly, MyBodyTutor helped me work with the GI issues I'd been having, and I now know how to eat to better manage and minimize these problems. I am also so much happier with my new relationship with exercise. Now, my main form of commuting is walking or biking, which I really look forward to every day. I've slowly worked in other forms of exercise, such as volleyball, and I've recently started bodyweight exercises. What used to feel like a huge chore are enjoyable activities that enrich my life and help my body feel good. I was originally afraid that it would be really hard work to lose the weight that I wanted to lose, but it wasn't! It was easy to make huge changes in my mindset and habits because MyBodyTutor helped me do it slowly and at a pace that worked for me. I am really excited because I thought it was wishful thinking to lose 20 pounds, but now that I've gotten there, I actually see I can have much bigger goals for my health and fitness. My experience with MyBodyTutor was highly individualized. I felt like every aspect of my lifestyle and personality were taken into account when my coach would give me feedback and suggestions. This highly tailored coaching is what made MyBodyTutor stand out for me. I've not only learned practical tips about eating and exercising, but I have also learned so much about myself. This program improved my overall happiness, confidence, and agency to make changes in many aspects of my life. Thank you, MyBodyTutor! I could not have done it without you.

I am so appreciative of the MyBodyTutor program, its structure, and its high accountability. I am also so very thankful to have such an amazing coach who diligently monitors my meals and movement and gives amazing feedback. By monitoring everything so closely she figured out how my body was processing certain foods and helped make needed weekly changes to maximize results. She also has helped me put together an amazing physical training plan that got me to that half marathon and the ability to max some personal fitness challenges I wanted to achieve. But most importantly, she challenged my mindset on what I needed to do if I wanted to finally be successful on this journey. I am on a 24-week streak of working out at 5:30 a.m., 6 days a week (this would not have been possible without MyBodyTutor!) Those 15-minute calls have helped get me up each day to work out, and kept me consistent through illness, injury, emotional eating, and work craziness. Thank you so much to my coach Sandra for helping me stay consistent, motivated, and challenged! I am always energized and encouraged after our talks. In this time of reflection on who and what we are thankful for, you are top of my list!! Adam's emails are so weirdly timely for what I have going on LOL not sure how you do that, but super enjoy reading them and your Adam's food for thought. I also enjoy the gratitude section, some days it is a challenge to think of three things LOL.
