“DO NOT USE VIAGOGO
I purchased 2 tickets to a concert at £80 each - they then charged £21 per ticket booking fee and £5 per ticket delivery even though both coming to the same address so only actually one fee necessary. When the tickets arrived the FACE VALUE WAS £35 !!! that means they have charged more than double the price and £26 on top of that - absolute daylight robbery.”
“We were charged over a 100% mark up on the face value of the tickets, the fees are extortionate, what a rip off. There is no customer service only contact available is via email which is hardly surprising as they must get a high volume of complaints regarding over charging for fees. This is ironic as one of the reasons given for the booking fee is to provide customer service. My advice "Don't buy tickets from Vigogo" This is just a legalised ticket tout site.”
“I recently bought tickets for Roger Waters concert in 2018. Viagogo is offering the tickets even before the official date for sale. I mistakenly assumed I was late for buying them and I used this website. I ended up paying 100 £ extra on the top of the price advertised on the website. Also the webpage is misleading and tells you that less than 3% of tickets are available adding extra pressure (and a lie) when buying tickets. In this case, the tickets are not even on public sale yet and I am sure if I will get mine since the Viagogo is not an official ticket agent for the event.”
“If I could give it 0 I would. Complete scum. Money grabbers and liars. £400 on tickets that didn't come in time. Low life's and thieves. Scammers I'm absolutely disgusted. Rip people off from your crap website.”
“ViaGoGo is a complete rip-off and scam. Purchased 2 x tickets to full day (1200-1800) at Oktoberfest for Sunday Sept.17th. I received tickets less than a week before departure. I found out when arriving in Munich that the entry bracelets we received were actually only good from 1500-1800 (AFTER arriving at our tent with my wife!!). ViaGogo offered apologies and refund of €100 on a €490.00 purchase and I rejected demanding a full refund or ½ at minimum.
Gets worse and more insulting though. We did get into our tent at 1500 and met 2 other Americans who has also bought on ViaGoGo. We ended up being the only four people at a table set for 10 people and the tent organizers said all dinners had been pre-made based on 10 people per table and we were asked to pay for 3 additional dinners and desserts each!!!!!!
After fighting back and forth (easily a dozen email and web exchanges), ViaGoGo made final offer of €175 which I have no choice but to accept and as we were forced to pay by cash for the extra dinners they would not refund this additional money either.
STAY AWAY, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!”
“ABOLUTE RIP OFF!!! They added £80 worth of booking fees and vat after paying for my tickets and seeing my confirmation! It was put in my confirmation emails an popped up after paying!!!!!! Ridiculous, and the customer service is awful, have not replied to any of my emails or concerns. DO NOT USE THEM!”
“I purchased tickets for Glorious Goodwood, not only was I charged way over the normal price but when I arrived at the event I was refused admission as the tickets were illegal, only Goodwood sell tickets for this event. I then had to purchase two more tickets, absolutely disgusting! When I contacted Viagogo they said I was out of time for a refund.”
“Absolute rip off, charged way over the price on the tickets when arrived, then a huge booking fee, totally misleading website , stay away, but once bitten twice shy, will never use again”
“massively overcharged booking fee, only realised after booking tickets, I complained and told I wouldn't be getting any refund at all. Will never use viagogo again for anything and strongly advise others to avoid , it's a rip off.”
“AVOID AT ALL COSTS! These people are fraudsters. When you are just about to click to purchase your ticket, they whack about £50 extra on per ticket. Then when you decide not to make the final purchase, they take your money anyway. They cannot be contacted as they make themselves invisible, there is no phone number and the only way you can reach them is to leave a message on their website. They then say sorry, we do not give refunds but we will buy the ticket back from you for another £50. Absolute scam. My bank is now dealing with them. No idea how they're still in business.”
“Avoid at all costs! They hit you with enormous booking fees at the end of your purchase, then when you opt out, they still put your sale through. The make themselves totally invisible so that you cannot contact them. When you finally get an email reply, they say "too bad, we don't give refunds, you can sell your ticket back to us and lose another £50 into the bargain". Disgusting people.”
“WARNING - Do not deal with Viagogo in any way.
I purchased a ticket for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, to see my 13 year old daughter play; two weeks later having still not received the ticket or a row and seat number, I was in receipt of a string of excuses as to why the ticket was not sent when they took my money - including that the seller didn't even yet have a ticket to send to me. Despite this, they still refused to refund the money I paid for my ticket.
Viagogo said that event organisers only released tickets close to the event (Not True) and said I would receive the ticket to my home address (courier delivery) no later than three days before the event. Then, without any consultation whatsoever, they told me I would have to collect my ticket from a Hotel in Grassmarket on the evening of the event. Viagogo have provided me with a tiny time slot for me to collect my ticket, only 45 minutes before the doors to the event opens and 75 minutes before guests have to be seated for the start of the Tattoo! I was told the ticket would not be available any earlier for security reasons - what utter rubbish.
I expressed my concern and my request for a refund was refused. However, they suggested I resell the ticket on their site - the ticket which I have not received, because the seller does not have it to send to me. I am absolutely speechless. I will be taking my complaint much, much further and would urge others to escalate their complaints also.
Two work colleagues recently received Tattoo tickets, not ordered via Viagogo, and they received them within three days of ordering. Viagogo are not being very truthful.
I would not recommend Viagogo to anyone, the very fact that Viagogo knew the seller did not have the ticket to send to me, should have been enough for them to refund me forthwith and I am utterly horrified that they suggested that I relist the ticket on their site, despite the fact they knew I did not have the ticket to sell, and despite the fact they knew the seller did not have it to give to me. An utter disgrace. Avoid at all costs.”

“Viagogo is a reliable website to buy and sell tickets. The process is very simple and they provide clear instructions every step of the way. My only slight issue was it is impossible to call someone if you need help. Every link in the website just takes you to other on-line forms. Bit frustrating, however my ticket purchase and sale went through fine.”
“Sold fake weekend camping tickets for Boardmasters 2017 to my son who was refused entry at the gate. Although they refunded tickets cost that's not good enough when you've spent good money and 9 hours on a bus to get to the event. Being left with no where to stay overnight and the event sold out, they've landed my son right in the proverbial, out of pocket and no option but to get the bus back home. Caution: Don't buy tickets from VIAGOGO unless you're happy to take the risk of buying fake tickets and all the extra hassle and cost that might entail...”
“So annoyed with myself for not checking reviews before I booked with this rip off company. As with others I have paid double for face value tickets and then they have the audacity to add on booking fees on top AFTER you have submitted all your card details. I will NEVER use this company again.”
“A family member bought 3 tickets for us to see the Open golf practice day 16th July 2017.
She payed £113.35 for the three tickets with a face value of £10 each back in October 2016.
Keep away from these RIP OFF MERCHANTS!!!!”
“Warning to all potential users of the viagogo website. I purchased 2 tickets to the U2 London Joshua Tree a2017 tour concert in February. I paid 430 pounds for the two tickets, only to find out that the face value of the tickets upon arriving was 40 pounds each. I thus strongly advise everybody to avoid the viagogo website at all costs, as the prices there are a scam on the buyers. Viagogo intentionally tries to deceive you into buying tickets far above their face value, making it seem that they are no longer available elsewhere. Make sure to check the prices elsewhere.”
“If I could give less than 1 star I would. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had:
1. purchased premium tickets, and Viagogo accidentally reserved standard tickets
2. we were offered 2 options, either a refund or replacement premium tickets and promised to be called so we could confirm out decision. We weren't called.
3. we tried calling them and were in the queue for 50 minutes
4. when we called the next day we were told that there was no issue with the tickets and there was no record we were offered a refund
5. I go to collect me tickets from the allotted time and was told I had to return 3 hours later because the tickets had in fact been REISSUED so they were being delivered in the second batch (bear in mind I was at work so couldn't take 2 hours out to travel back and forth, and resolve it)
6. they told us that instead of refunding our tickets they would list them on their site at which point there was only 4 hours to go until the event
7. unsurprisingly the tickets didn't sell at such short a notice and it was too late to pick them up even if I could get out of work again
8. I contacted the customer services AGAIN and was told it couldn't be offered because we listed the tickets and it wasn't their fault my tickets didn't sell so they couldn't offer a refund, and they couldn't see how they had messed up at any point during the transaction. I made it very clear that they told us to list the tickets and we wanted the refund to begin with!
Working for an Ad Agency for art and live performance, working alongside ticketing agencies such as this, I would NEVER affiliate myself with them!
I am beyond livid, and am not going to accept losing out £250. NEVER USING THEM AGAIN and will make sure to let everyone know!”
