“I am a small business and have spend over £30,000 on a website which has never been completed. This was started 3 years ago. I have had to close my account as they wanted over £1000 per month advertising. They just stopped developing the site after the payment was made and kept moving me between people. I have nothing to show for my hard earned money. I have had a high level complaint in for almost 2 years which just gets passed around. Worst company I have ever worked with. Do not use Yell.com for advertising. After been shut down because of coronavirus and having zero income, i stopped my direct debit and contacted them to explain my circumstances, after a couple of calls and telling them i would not be reinstating the direct debit until i received some income they said they would give me a payment holiday but instead sent my account to a debt collection agency, after taking to the agency who agreed they went the wrong way about it i am letting everyone know: YELL.COM are a money grabbing company who don't care about their customers circumstances especially through this unprecedented time. After receiving a DEPT RECOVERY LETTER STATING I HAD TO PAY OVER £363 Because I had not paid my invoices due to COVID I was quite SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST
AND IN THE MEAN TIME THEY HAD CLOSED ALL MY WEBSITE AND EMAILS IS I DID EVERYTHING THROUGH THEM NO EXPLICATION OR EMAIL OR EVEN A LETTER SO MUCH SO I COULDN'T GET ANY EMAILS OR CUSTOMERS LOOKING AT MY WEBSITE AND ITS BEEN WEEKS NOW CAN YOU IMAGINE MY DISTRESS AT SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME IT WAS A NIGHTMARE “at such a time when we are supposed to be in this together.

“Cancelled subscription and still looking for money after cancellation date. Asked for documentation to prove additional money due. No info sent and money they claim is owed has now been put in hands of debt collectors. A worry we could do without given all the issues caused by COVID”

As well as getting zero business from display advertising & paid-for searches, they also continually ignored us, didn't do what they say they would, and are now using a petty argument about terminology to claim they never knew we wanted to cancel the contract and to keep the money we have incorrectly been charged for months. Middlemen with nothing to offer and they know it, which is why they find every excuse to hold onto your money at all costs rather than provide a fair & worthwhile service.”
“I had a problem with a business I was unfortunate enough to use from Yell. so I left a 1 star review which vanished after I presume the mere behest of the business, further if a business has reviews only the 5 stara can be viewed, reviews less than that are included in the totals but are no where to be seen. You can easily check thatby looking for CJBS building services. Yell also provides facilities for the business to turn reviews on and off at their whim. Not a very trust worthy thing if you ask me.”

“Absolutely awful company. Have lied to me for the last 6 months. I have tried everything possible to right my account and I have been lied to!! They told me that because I’ve breached my contract I’ve got to pay the amount in full but they haven’t provided me with the full contract for 6 MONTHS!! But I still have to pay the full price. They did NOTHING to help me get the account right all they said was wait for it to get to debt collection and then we can sort it with you. I’m now being told that is incorrect. I have requested all recorded calls and will be forwarding to trading standards. I have kept in contact every month and tried my hardest to sort it and the account managers are never available. Calls are never returned. The communication with this company is horrendous. Only do a free listing they will lie to you and then do you out of pocket.”

- From being excited and hopeful from an excellent sales pitch. These guys could sell ice to the Eskimos by promising you the world
- Once they have you it's soon apparent you fell for the smooth talk. The service was very slow to set up, full of errors and you quickly realise your not a valued customer, just a ticket number on a waiting list.
- I recieved no sales, no leads and if I did ... it wasnt traceable. The worst £3k ive ever been swindled for by digital marketing "experts"
- Locked into a 12 month contract for a diabolical service that doesn't only not work. But was mis-sold.
Your cost per clicks if you use Yell will be higher than your competitors not using Yell. The Audience targeting is incorrect too.

All in all, I would give Yell a 0.5/10 (Half a point for the genius way they use an old trusted name to rob you)”
