If I could provide a 0 star feedback, I would. Like many other unfortunate people, I fell into the trap. I signed up with Yell 4 months ago, Not received 1 sale. In fact the only thing I received relating to Yell.com is 3 phone calls, 2 trying to sell me Viagra and another spam call. Paying for PPC management each month and it hasn't been managed since it was started 4 months ago so not entirely sure what that fee is for, Yell.com can't answer this either. For a 'Google Partner' the way they run the PPC is absolutely shocking. The Cost Per Click (CPC) for a 20 mile radius is approx. £1.28. I run my own PPC as well and can cover the whole of the UK for approx £0.18 CPC ... a big difference. I mentioned this to the 'PPC Expert' and he had no idea, it was me who was telling him how to run a PPC advert, what keywords are converting and which aren't. I asked for analytical data (Keywords / Search Terms etc), I was promised to be emailed these 'within 48 hours' and still waiting 30 days later... Account manager is fully aware but still no further forward. Have requested the Full Terms & Conditions twice and still no response to this request. The saga continues....

I have been with YELL for years .The website soaks up the keywords i require due to my own SEO work.My presence on YELL.com is good for the money I pay. Then a couple of years ago I started getting HIGH PRESSURE sales calls. You are about to disappear from google ,etc.Claiming to be from YELL or a GOOGLE or a trade partner of YELL,they are all just full of nonsense. Two years after the first call I am still exactly where I want to be on google and the only threat to my business is missing calls while talking to these idiots.Anyone that now mentions SEO,WEB or YELL gets cut off straight away and number blocked .

So, I had a very unpleasant experience with Yell staff, especially with their sales guys (yes Phil, it's about you). They are a pack of lying experts and no more. I signed a contract with them, they said I can cancel any time, just to find out later that there is "an 80% cancellation fee" which is not in the contract, but in their T&C. Not to mention that I had 0% website traffic from them (according to google analytics), 0 calls, and therefore 0 orders, but paid my monthly fee regularly.

Awful customer service. They didn't provide the service that they claimed they would. They leaked my home address all over the web, breaching GDPR, and then caused me numerous other issues. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

I have signed up to Yell and communication has ben horrendous. Ongoing cycle of me chasing, requesting changes and being ignored. Still waiting for items to be added or changed since the 4th of June. These are vital aspects of my website and nothing. Biggest mistake to date regarding my business

Terrible communication. Constantly ignored despite numerous requests given false misleading information- does not provide the service they promised. Shocking treatment I could not be more unhappy with them. It says over a week to reply but that’s not true even though I have an account they never reply- I have to email and telephone numerous times to get a response simple requests are not done.

Avoid Yell.com!!! I was registered on Yell.com for free, later, on June 24th, I got a call from Malaki who was offering to help me with advertising. After about an hour long conversation and professional psychological pressure I gave him my details, however he could clearly hear I did not understand everything well and that I don have any business at the moment which I repeated several times. Two hours later I filled out the form online to cancel this agreement where I stated that I do not have a business. About an hour later I called them and I was suddenly told by Abi Booth that I cannot cancel this contract because “business is business” . However, before I was not aware of these terms and was astouned by this statement. Until that point no work had been done, it was literally 2 hours later I said I do not wish to work with this company. Then Abi started pushing me to agree to 50% off for 3 months instead of cancelling. I explained I do not have business or clients therefore I won’t be able to pay at all. Abi said that I’d have to pay 80% of the annual amount in order to cancel. My request to cancel had been sent by me 4 hours earlier than I received the confirmation for setting up direct debit. Moreover, they set up 2 direct debits for unknown to me reasons! I filled out the same form again and called them again but they never reacted to my requests as they were not interested in discussing canceling. I spoke to different people after this on the phone multiple times explaining the situation and requesting to cancel. All of them were saying the same thing and also refused to provide the recorded phone conversations between me and Malaki who forced me into this contract. Plus, I requested them to send me the contract over via email multiple times which they NEVER did! It is a fraudulent company that only wants to get your money at any cost! Long story short, I wasn’t provided any details of terms and conditions of this contract before agreeing to it on the phone. It was clear to everyone I did not get how this works but nobody cared about it. To be more precise, these important details of the agreement were completely ignored and avoided in order to lure me into this deal easier and quicker. After my review I received a call from Toni Aconi who promised to call me back but, as the rest of the representatives of this company, has failed to do so. I am seriously fed up with the fact that I have to repeat the whole story to a new person over and over again that never leads to anything! I am tired of the constant lies of these people, therefore I am requesting to receive all future communication via email. I am also requesting to receive my recorded conversations with Malaki and Abi Booth from the 24th of June which I will be using when making a claim to the small claims court.

Yell contacted me 2 months ago, offering top ranking on their page as well as google. I paid £107 and have never had even an email query and im no where near the top on Google, so it hasn't benefitted me from going with them. Not once was I told that I was signing up to a 12 month contract, but was told I would be on a month to month rolling contract. I just spoke to a guy called Waqas tried to offer me a months free advertising, and to place my demographic else where outside of my local area. I explained that I had told the assistant that this was my absolute last resort as business had not been as progressive as I had hoped and that I was also travelling this September. I was never told I was signing up for a year long contract or I simply would not have. They use lies and trickery to get customers trapped and do not deliver on the things they claim they can...Just look for them on all social media platforms to see the countless compliants and they are still employing deception and bad practises to maintain their business.

Small business who agreed to sign up to a PCC contract with Yell but WITHIN THE PHONE CALL said we wanted to cancel after speaking to the supposed Google expert (ie not the actual sales guy who wouldn't let us speak to the tech guys till we signed a contract). The expert took a look at the campaign doc we sent him and said it was too complex for the budget we were wanting to spend (£120 a mth for 6 mths) because it included several landing pages and keywords (ie basic stuff for a successful Google Ad campaign). After a long conversation with me explaining why it would be ridiculous to think one keyword and landing page would work for the various services we offer, THE CHAP AGREED THIS WASN'T THE RIGHT PACKAGE FOR US but if we wanted to run a campaign like that, we would need to spend £750 plus VAT every month for 6 mths. Not being able to currently commit to that, I said we will have to cancel the contract for now. The chap said he would contact the people authorised to do that. A day later, no contact. I then contacted the Complaints department who 'weren't authorised to cancel the contract' despite NO WORK being done on it or no money taken as yet. They assured me they would respond within 48 hours which they have failed to do. I also sent a complaint via their online system. Again no response. From the high pressure sales call, the lack of knowledge of the digital rep and the shoddy customer service I am beyond disappointed in a company that's supposedly meant to be an ally to small businesses. Very bad practises and policies in place and I feel the service I was sold was misrepresented. I specifically stated I wanted increased knowledge and expertise - not LESS of it! Never made a complaint public before but what do you do if you're ignored? I posted a similar review on TrustPilot yesterday and got a response from Yell early this morning saying 'this is not the service you should be receiving from Yell' and that my account manager will be in touch. It was a great public response but no one has contacted me throughout the day. Would encourage any small business to read the reviews of the 19% of people (almost 1 in 5 of us!) who have given Yell a one star rating before considering investing.

Awful customer service, tie you into a 12 month contract, say they send you correspondence but I've never received any correspondence. They didn't ask for a postal address when signing up with them and just took the location of the business which is in a public space and have been sending correspondence to a park for 5 years. I've paid for Yell for 5 years and never once received any enquiries from them, I only received harassing phone calls from people trying to sell me things that have resulted in people trying to scam me. All my enquiries come through google business or facebook and not through yell, their service has been a complete waste of my money and my time. When trying to cancel my account, I received no helpful customer service whatsoever, they wouldn't even provide me with the electronic copy of the supposed contract I signed with them even thought they said they would email it, I haven't received it. They advised that I entered into an annual rolling contract the auto renews and initially said I would have to pay for the rest of the contract. When I tried to raise this with them, they advised I could pay an early termination fee which would be the rest of my contract. I don't remember seeing any Terms and Conditions for this let alone signing them. When I called them, they wouldn't update my classification which was listed incorrectly. They also cannot track who calls you, so in this case I find their service pretty useless. Their analytics are poor in comparison to google analytics and so I question what exactly is the point of their service in the first place.

Didn't deliver on promises and I had to shut down my business despite my please to get out of the contract I believe was mis sold. :-( If you are a new business, please don't be misled that this company will make you successful. It really won't. It isn't true. Just awful. Real rip off, hard sales where lies are said on the phone and in person then the contract doesn't mention the promises. Terrible website design and the reputation manager is just ineffective. Account managers just try to make you feel guilty to stay with them. Very underhand. Very unprofessional. No integrity. Awful company. I think their employees must be making the good reviews!

I wanted to cancel my advertising after a 12 month campaign due to poor results. Let me give this very simple warning: THIS COMPANY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE EVEN WHEN OUT OF CONTRACT AND WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU FOR ADVERTS YOU NO LONGER WANT. It took weeks of trying, promised call backs, promised emails, promised cancellations, and still nothing. They deny having taken any of these calls or cancellation requests and keep on charging. Shocking and will never ever use again.
