This is the worse service I have ever recieved. Do not go with yell website. They will charge you £120 per month for doing absolutely nothing.the website wasn't bringing any work. What a waste of one year time. I was told that I would keep the website and access it when ever I want. Also a frequent pushy sales from their sales team to try and make me spend more money on ad words.what a load of Rubbish I now cancelled my website with yell and i have to start all over again with a diferent website provider. Stay well away from these guys as they are just a bunch of Hustler's. Once you are tucked in there game, you wont be able to come out until you pay for the whole year without any result. Do not accept the monthly payment. There is a lot website companies that are willing to give up to one year domain and seo websites building for less and work effective then yell. I don't recommend yell to anyone that needs to start a new website. Baaaad experience.

Can you please explain to me why you insist on being an absolute shambles of a company?! Not once since I was a customer did I receive any sort of adequate service from you, being over the phone or your so called reps. So obviously cancelled my advertising, which I had to do twice!! And now over 2 months later your sending me threatening emails out of the blue demanding money, threatening debt recovery services and cancelling a product that is cancelled!! Sort this out as well as your company!

I am drafting this email tonight absolutely flabbergasted at the way I have been treated by your company tell.com. My story started over 3 years ago when I came on board with yell for advertising and the hosting of a website. I had a previous website with wix.com with domain name www.jmctelecom.com, I was advised by the yell web designer on what to do to transfer that domain to yell which I done. Les that a year later I was contacted by yell to say there was a problem with my website as the domain name had expired! I was surprised as was told at the beginning of my yell journey that yell would take care of everything. I was told it would be a short term problem and would just have to wait a week or 2 to reapply for the domain name and a short term solution was to keep the website going with a new domain name of www.jmctelecom.co.uk. The weeks went by and it turned out that we couldn’t get my original domain name as it was now too expensive! Bang went all my advertising, van signage ect, you can imagine the cost of lost business ect! More recently I continually complained about lack of business coming via yell.com, so much so I found myself cancelling direct debit and asking for my account to to cancelled down. I was persuaded by your customer service representatives to stay with yell, she set up calls with your website people who found problems with my site and I was assured it would be sorted out, Sher also arranged some free local advertising as a gesture of good will, I was continually bombarded with calls looking for payment for the 3 months were a held back payment as I have been paying for a service that I have not been receiving for over 3 years! I then received letter from your debt collection partners! I called yell to ask what it was about I was totally gobsmacked to be told that all my advertising and website was now cancelled! I’m now sitting here with no website whatsoever and thinking that I have been treated most unfairly. I’m contemplating seeking legal advice regarding my loss of business. I

I've been disappointed with Yell Business so far... Everyone has been very friendly, but after setting up an account it has been very difficult to confirm exactly what I have signed up to. I have spoken to a number of representatives, as well as multiple account managers over the past 6 months and keep being told different things as to what service i am paying for and what that service is supposed to do. They told me they were going to investigate it and get back to me but never did, which my most recent account manager was unaware of. And I have just found out that my business details have not been updated across all the directories they add you too, despite the fact that that was the whole reason for me buying this service in the first place. This means it has been having a huge impact on my internet presence and SEO, and i was completely unaware. Who knows what business that has lost me...

Extortion comes to mind. I cancelled my contract in September and continued to make payments to fulfil the year's contract, which ended in January. I then cancelled the direct debit because I knew they were going to try and take money. They never cancelled the contract as agreed and continued to bill me. Each time they sent an email telling me that I owe money, I answered that email saying that I cancelled and paid in full. They did not stop and still continued to bill me for 3 months after. I finally called them and they threatened me with debt collection agencies and further steps. Now here's the kicker, this all might have been overlooked, but the fact is that these adverts do not work. Yell ranks keywords that nobody ever really search for. In that 1 year and paying over £200 for an advert, which was a premium listing and in page 1 and 2nd or 3rd from the top, I received 2 phone calls and that was it. You'll be a fool to waste your money on these extortionists.

Extremely unprofessional, unorganized, poor communication, just hand over money and lose visibility, control and results. Avoid like the plague as they'll lock you into a long term contract with no way out no matter how much they fail you. Appalling. Would give them zero stars if I could.

Just got scammed by Yell.com after spending 420 GBP per month on PPC advertising campaign. I was enticed into spending my hard earned cash with them to promote our website at 3signs.co.uk - a niche site selling health and safety signs & stickers, after month 1 I raised my concerns - they did not listen to what we were selling then created wasteful ads on the wrong keywords that were irrelevant to what we sold. After my initial complaint, they rebuilt the campaign - taking a further 2 more weeks. They enabled call logging using a special number - but yet to receive my first call. Their stats are reporting 11k impressions and 160 clicks to my site over two months, but no sales conversions yet :( Very disappointing as my own Google PPC campaign with a 100GBP monthly spend generated more sales and clicks. Requested a full refund and cancelled the direct debit, if this is not received so I'll be invoicing them for this shocking ordeal. AVOID them at all cost if you have a niche website, they suggested a retargeting campaign after the third or fourth complaint, still waiting to see the results on this. They are very slow to respond to my enquiries, the sales rep Nicky Morgan pulled out of my scheduled meetings. In fact, we've never met again since I first signed up three months ago now. Thing again before wasting your money with Yell.com!

I had a positive experience with Yell's reputation manager last year with my listing as a therapist. As a result I decided to use the service for another aspect of my work which is a clinic from which myself (as owner and manager) a number of independent therapists work. From the outset the process went wrong, with ownership of our listing attributed to first one of our therapists and then to another, with their details being used on our reputation dashboard and therefore being distributed across the web via the listing affiliates Yell engage with. To my surprise as well the system was powerful enough to change our Google My Business listing, changing our business name and even the photograph it contained to that of one of our therapists. That was a huge shock to be given how carefully I'd managed it. I brought this to Yell's attention immediately and expected the issue was easily resolved, unfortunately for reasons its hard to fathom it was impossible to put right. Responsibility for the issue was handed to different people in Yell over a period of a few weeks with the promise each time that the issue was understood and that within a few days would be resolved. Each time it was impossible to get the information correct and so a as a result a very powerful system that is meant to ensure that information across the web for your business is cohesive, was in fact misrepresenting our business information. It appeared that as a result of therapists having their own Yell listings citing our business address, that this was enough to have them attributed as owners of our business listing, despite it being made clear on taking on the service that sole ownership of the clinic business is ours alone. After several months of dead ends and broken promises to resolve the issue I had not choice but to cancel the Yell reputation manager service. Unfortunately this has not been the end of the issue. I wanted to keep the simple Yell online directory listing. I asked that the telephone number be corrected to reflect our correct landline number, and not the mobile number that was being used, a number that I had never provided Yell despite them insisting I must have, but which they had taken from one of our therapists and allocated to our business by mistake. I have a email trail dating back to November 2018 in which I have repeatedly asked for this to be put right, and repeatedly I've been told it will be resolved shortly. It never was and I got to the point several weeks ago that I asked that Yell to simply cancel and remove the listing altogether. as after several months of trying the telephone number remained incorrect and I could see no other solution. I thought this would be easy enough. To my amazement despite several calls and emails the listing is still live and it appears that whatever I do, whoever I speak to by phone or via email, Yell seem unable to put this right. I have chased this on numerous occasions over the last few weeks. Given that the whole premise of their service is to enhance a businesses visibility and ensure cohesion of information across the web, an essential way to ensure Google see your business favourably, then I find it extraordinary that when they've so obviously failed in this service that they should not be able to put it right in a matter of days. If it were not for the fact that I saw measurable falls in our website traffic coinciding with the errors I saw being made, then it would have felt that I was involved in some bizarre comedy sketch in which I was the focus of the prank. Sadly its been far more stressful than that. i would urge you to think very carefully before engaging Yell. Although I can state that each person I've spoken to has been lovely, which is why it took me so long before finally cancelling the reputation manager service as I trusted their statements that it was just about to be resolved, unfortunately the sum of the parts, at least for me, has been wholly dysfunctional. I've recently got to a point whereby the last representative I've been communicating with is virtually impossible to reach, and I simply feel that my issue is being ignored. It will be interesting to see if this review will prompt any meaningful action, or simply further apologies and empty promises.

Beware Yell reviews. Because subscribers/retailers pay fees to advertise, Yell protects them against unfavourable reviews. If the subscriber/retailer objects to any unfavourable review, Yell will remove such review to protect the retailer and so secure their account. In short, if a retailer has nothing but rave reviews then you know something is not quite what it seems. Don’t always believe what you read.

My advice DO NOT sign up with Yell! They do NOT deliver on their promises! I was sold a Premium Package with personalised website build ... instead was given to browse through their mock up list - which are as plain as it can get! There was NO expert input - even the logo they created does not imply any effort was spent! AND the fact that they commit you immediately to annual package with NO cancellation policy already indicates lack of reputation! I was promised my site would be live within 2 weeks - 7 weeks later it went live WITH ERRORS!! Seriously spare yourself time and resources and do make sure you do research before signing up ...especially with yell!

Bad experience doesn't cover it, this company are incompetent, money grabbing and rude. I listed my business address as I had no choice for the bank and it has been a nightmare 3 weeks ever since. Made 4 phonecalls, sent 2 emails and even tried Twitter contact and the address is still incorrect. You get completely ignored. I did look into advertising with Yell before I had all of these issues, when the sales guy spoke to me (after hounding me for a week) and I said I needed help changing the address before I would advertise he put the phone down on me, that pretty much sums up Yell.com from what I hear elsewhere aswell. Avoid like the plague.

Yell representative (John) made various promised to sell our business their 'Google Ads Management' service. Prior to signing with Yell, we were contacted weekly by their representatives, who guaranteed our business would increase. We invested a lot of money with them over a six month period and experienced zero return. We were verbally promised that we could 'opt out at any time'. We are now getting solicitors letters on behalf of Yell citing notice period was required. I have made numerous phone calls and emails to the representatives who plagued me before we signed to them, and none of them will return any of my emails or phone calls. Absolutely disgraceful.
