Yell contacted me 2 months ago, offering top ranking on their page as well as google. I paid £107 and have never had even an email query and im no where near the top on Google, so it hasn't benefitted me from going with them. Not once was I told that I was signing up to a 12 month contract, but was told I would be on a month to month rolling contract. I just spoke to a guy called Waqas tried to offer me a months free advertising, and to place my demographic else where outside of my local area. I explained that I had told the assistant that this was my absolute last resort as business had not been as progressive as I had hoped and that I was also travelling this September. I was never told I was signing up for a year long contract or I simply would not have. They use lies and trickery to get customers trapped and do not deliver on the things they claim they can...Just look for them on all social media platforms to see the countless compliants and they are still employing deception and bad practises to maintain their business.

Small business who agreed to sign up to a PCC contract with Yell but WITHIN THE PHONE CALL said we wanted to cancel after speaking to the supposed Google expert (ie not the actual sales guy who wouldn't let us speak to the tech guys till we signed a contract). The expert took a look at the campaign doc we sent him and said it was too complex for the budget we were wanting to spend (£120 a mth for 6 mths) because it included several landing pages and keywords (ie basic stuff for a successful Google Ad campaign). After a long conversation with me explaining why it would be ridiculous to think one keyword and landing page would work for the various services we offer, THE CHAP AGREED THIS WASN'T THE RIGHT PACKAGE FOR US but if we wanted to run a campaign like that, we would need to spend £750 plus VAT every month for 6 mths. Not being able to currently commit to that, I said we will have to cancel the contract for now. The chap said he would contact the people authorised to do that. A day later, no contact. I then contacted the Complaints department who 'weren't authorised to cancel the contract' despite NO WORK being done on it or no money taken as yet. They assured me they would respond within 48 hours which they have failed to do. I also sent a complaint via their online system. Again no response. From the high pressure sales call, the lack of knowledge of the digital rep and the shoddy customer service I am beyond disappointed in a company that's supposedly meant to be an ally to small businesses. Very bad practises and policies in place and I feel the service I was sold was misrepresented. I specifically stated I wanted increased knowledge and expertise - not LESS of it! Never made a complaint public before but what do you do if you're ignored? I posted a similar review on TrustPilot yesterday and got a response from Yell early this morning saying 'this is not the service you should be receiving from Yell' and that my account manager will be in touch. It was a great public response but no one has contacted me throughout the day. Would encourage any small business to read the reviews of the 19% of people (almost 1 in 5 of us!) who have given Yell a one star rating before considering investing.

Awful customer service, tie you into a 12 month contract, say they send you correspondence but I've never received any correspondence. They didn't ask for a postal address when signing up with them and just took the location of the business which is in a public space and have been sending correspondence to a park for 5 years. I've paid for Yell for 5 years and never once received any enquiries from them, I only received harassing phone calls from people trying to sell me things that have resulted in people trying to scam me. All my enquiries come through google business or facebook and not through yell, their service has been a complete waste of my money and my time. When trying to cancel my account, I received no helpful customer service whatsoever, they wouldn't even provide me with the electronic copy of the supposed contract I signed with them even thought they said they would email it, I haven't received it. They advised that I entered into an annual rolling contract the auto renews and initially said I would have to pay for the rest of the contract. When I tried to raise this with them, they advised I could pay an early termination fee which would be the rest of my contract. I don't remember seeing any Terms and Conditions for this let alone signing them. When I called them, they wouldn't update my classification which was listed incorrectly. They also cannot track who calls you, so in this case I find their service pretty useless. Their analytics are poor in comparison to google analytics and so I question what exactly is the point of their service in the first place.

Didn't deliver on promises and I had to shut down my business despite my please to get out of the contract I believe was mis sold. :-( If you are a new business, please don't be misled that this company will make you successful. It really won't. It isn't true. Just awful. Real rip off, hard sales where lies are said on the phone and in person then the contract doesn't mention the promises. Terrible website design and the reputation manager is just ineffective. Account managers just try to make you feel guilty to stay with them. Very underhand. Very unprofessional. No integrity. Awful company. I think their employees must be making the good reviews!

I wanted to cancel my advertising after a 12 month campaign due to poor results. Let me give this very simple warning: THIS COMPANY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE EVEN WHEN OUT OF CONTRACT AND WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU FOR ADVERTS YOU NO LONGER WANT. It took weeks of trying, promised call backs, promised emails, promised cancellations, and still nothing. They deny having taken any of these calls or cancellation requests and keep on charging. Shocking and will never ever use again.

Poor customer service, tell you to contact them by email and get ignored. Rip you off and dont listen to what you want. Overall just an absolute shambles. Ripping people off is not going to make your business work!

literally the worst advertising company you could ever use. Bought a website that they sold to me as a site that was equal to my original but with better features and customer service, only to find out it was not to the same spec i had with another provider. They have since sorted it after 3 months and double charged me for 3 months since. No one ever rings you back.. 3 account manager in 6 months and one call from the account manager in that time. Social advertising is working ok, PPC advertising had keywords i hadn't sent to them, over £700+ wasted money and next zero leads. cancelled with the treat of persecution after 1 month of me hounding it finally got cancelled and another month for them to do a credit.. i have since found a company that don't tie you into a contract and work hard on ppc to drive traffic through My advice would be avoid them at all costs and take your business to local firms that you can go have a meet with. terrible experience for a small growing company.

What went wrong? Absolutely everything from non delivery of new website, to banner going live before website built. Refunded website but still waiting nearly a year later for the banner refund. Constantly chasing refund and empty promises. Don't even deserve 1 star. Zero service.

Regarding: Your ('Trust' Pilot) review of www.YELL.com: Can you help? - Ticket #2568816 YELL(ow bellies) repeatedly removed my postings from their Business Reviews site pertaining 2 Munro & Noble, Solicitots & Estate Agents (M&N); ditto Chartered Surveyors, Allied, Souter, Jaffrey (ASJ) and/or Allied Scotland (AS). Both of whom were reported to the Scottish Law Society & Institute of Surveyors. {This whilst Product.Review.com, AU(stralia) & Rankers, N(ew) Z(ealand) also wouldn't post my review of Wicked Campers}... This is why Googles Reviews sites are best by far. No questions asked as they are not compromised by their Corporate Sponsors and/or Advertisers...'He who pays the piper calls the tune'?  Given this, how can any1 have any 'Trust' (in these clueless, far worse than useless, disingenuous) Pilot(s)?  As deplorable as is Trip Advisor...nothing short of criminal. But then they are as thick as thieves or may be I should say police officers, unCivil Servants & their ventriloquists. The politicians & their puppeteers, the corporatocracy & banksters. Muppets, 1 & all. Truly appalling & deplorable. Lamentably, whilst I could be seriously miskaken, how I wish.  All but Googles Reviews would appear to be predominently disingenuous. The others, notably those listed herein. NB: Should you, reviews io, wish I'd be only 2 pleased 2 forward a scan of the belated documentary proof I had both YELL.com & Trust Pilot from M&N. ABSOLUTELY AVOID, WILL DECEIVE YOU, NOT FOLLOW CORRECT TRADING STANDARDS AND CONSUMER LAWS, DO ANYTHING TO DECEIVE YOU, PURPOSELY IGNORE YOUR CANCELLATION REQUEST AND WHO WOULD NOT CANCEL AFTER BEING PROMISED THE EARTH AND THEN BEING DECEIVED, THIS COMPANY IS TANTAMOUNT TO SCAM. READ ALL THE REVIEWS AND TAKE NOTE THAT THE POSITIVE ONES ARE COAXED OUT OF CUSTOMERS AFTER THE LOVELY SALES SPEECHES ABD BEFORE THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS SO REALLY ARE NOT VALID. I WILL HOPEFULLY BE SEEING THIS COMPANY IN COURT AND IT WILL BE A VERY LONG CASE AS THEY ASSURE YOU THAT ALL VERBAL ASSURANCES AND PROMISES ARE RECORDED SO YOU ARE TOTALLY COVERED AND CAN WALK AWAY AT ANY TIME SHOULD YOU NOT RECEIVE WHAT IS DELIVERED, I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU READ ALL THE NEGATIVE RATINGS AND YOU WILL PICK UP POSITIVES BUT THEY MAINLY REFER TO THE LIES AND DECEIPT AND THEN THE SHOCK WILL HIT WHEN THEIR SERVICE AND CONS ARE UNCOVERED. A DISGRACE TO A HOUSEHOLD NAME AND WILL BE TAKING THIS TO DIRECTOR LEVEL AT HEAD OFFICE.

AVOID...Was sceptical about yell to begin with wss given a good sales pitch how it would benefit me and the conversions that would result in work comming my way,all my calls were recorded via an app which i would also suggest anybody to do so,2 month in and not a single call, website poorley designed by drag and drop somthing you could do yourself on a DIY Building site, their is no seo and the reputation package is a bad,its basically put you on facebook which anybody can do,dont belive the hype of anything else which is included as it all counts for nothing...you may see alot of good reviews here however this is achieved by yell asking you to review them the moment your site is built they get you so you like the look and are please then email constantly for you to review them bearing in mind this is before your service as been delivered which is to bring in telephone conversions/calls if anybody was to review after 3 months it would be a diffrent story so please dont give a review untill you see value for money in my case it never came the only calls i got was from my number being passed onto companies to get me to sign up to them for gas/elec i no this to be yell as it was the only address i put my buisness to with new number as other have also said, please please do your homework on Yell and see for yourself, you will get assigned a manager which are also useless as you cant get through,so far ive been waiting 4 weeks and nothing.

after a few times of being cold called I agreed to meet up with one of the sales reps. at this time I was using mybuilder to gain leads for jobs and it is vey good I was paying around £400 a month for them I know it sounds a lots but there was a lot of work coming from it. the sales rep said to me 'what if I can get you the same amount of leads for half the price, how does that sound' . so obviously I think that's great. then he feeds me a load of rubbish saying if I pick this, this and this to appear at the top of the lists it will be better for me. so with this and there 'rubbish' website they provided me it was nearly £250 a month on a 12 month contract. this was nearly 3 months ago when I signed up ive had 2 enquiries in that 3 month and nothing has come of it so now I have to pay out £650 a month for something I already had. I tried to cancel in the first few days of the contract after hearing bad things about them only be told that I cant its a business to business contract. im working for nothing the majority of the time now having to pay for this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

To start off, Yell got my details from a site I was registered into and they gave me a call to persuade me into buying the service they are providing. They were extremely pushy on the phone and would not let me go without sending a "marketing specialist" to personally convince me to buy their service. Eventually, I agreed to meet this "specialist". HE WAS 40 MINUTES LATE FOR THE FIRST MEETING, and he was also late for any other meeting that we had. At the time I was still doing my A-levels and I was young and naive, but I did sign their contract. This contract gives Yell's team NO INCENTIVE TO WORK. They give you no guarantee in the contract but the "marketing specialist" will promise you miracles just to make you sign the contract. ONCE YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOUR BUSINESS but only call you each month for your payments. Just to let you know how bad their service was I will give you the following comparison- when we were running the business that yell was supposed to advertise to Facebook and Google they (verbally) promised us 50 sales per day but nothing was mentioned in the contract, as a result, they made us 6-8 sales per month, whereas before signing the contract when I was managing the Facebook adds personally I was making 12-20 sales per day. Not to mention, that they were promising 100% of their ads- that was a complete lie. To manage their ads you have to email them or call them and even if you fo they won't do any work because you signed a contract that gives them right to do whatever they want and they don't want to do anything. If despite my review you decide to work with them, read the contract really really carefully, show it to a lawyer and then negotiate about it but whatever you do DO NOT SIGN IT WITHOUT GIVING IT A GOOD 2 DAYS TO READ IT THOROUGHLY. Also, keep in mind that they will try to make you sign the contract electronically and god knows how they can manipulate your signature and put it everywhere, so MAKE SURE YOU ARE SIGNING EVERYTHING ON PAPER, that way they cannot fake it.
