Yell representative (John) made various promised to sell our business their 'Google Ads Management' service. Prior to signing with Yell, we were contacted weekly by their representatives, who guaranteed our business would increase. We invested a lot of money with them over a six month period and experienced zero return. We were verbally promised that we could 'opt out at any time'. We are now getting solicitors letters on behalf of Yell citing notice period was required. I have made numerous phone calls and emails to the representatives who plagued me before we signed to them, and none of them will return any of my emails or phone calls. Absolutely disgraceful.

I have dealt with Yell on behalf of a number of small businesses and in every case they have mis-sold and stretched the truth to get small businesses to part with a lot of money for hardly any return. Pushy sales people who talk absolute nonsense about Google and how they can help. Yell take advantage of many small businesses lack of knowledge of digital marketing to take money they can't afford to lose. Don't touch with a bargepole.

Never never let a Yell sales rep into your home, they are sleazy liars. I agreed to meet up with a reputation rep back in November at my home. He was not helpful at all in terms of the display ad he wanted me to put up. It took him 5 minutes to build the ad, then got into the financial part of the process. This is where it gets to the scam. I told him that I was only willing to take it up for a month as I had previous experiences with Facebook ads and Google, that weren't really producing. He tried to get me to pay £300 a month, where I told told him no chance in that happening, I will try £150 a month instead on a rolling contract. He agreed and took my card details. Once getting the details he was off saying he had to get to another appointment. The ad was a complete and utter waste of time, they say the ad had produced 216 clicks, it had not whatsoever, not through the display ad anyway. Google analytics told me this. 3 months later, I get a debt collection agency letter from Moorcroft saying I owe Yell in excess of £1000. I phoned Moorcroft as to why it was so much, they said that I had entered a contract with Yell of 6 months. NO I damn didn't. I then took steps in making a complaint against the sales rep. The only thing I did was sign for the direct debit on a rolling contract, so what I thought it was. The guy I spoke with dismissed my complaint as I had phoned in January to question the validity of the ad, which in his words made the contract even more valid. I told him to send the agreement, he did, with the title headlined on the agreement “Display - Month rolling contract” then in a very fine print “minimum 6 month contract”. In my eyes this Is a misinterpretation and a massive legal mistake. Which also proves that the “lovely” salesman was a con artist, and signed me up to a 6 month contract without my consent or knowledge. See you in court

Website written in India, PPC written in India, Customer Services in India and told if I left a five star review of Trustpilot the person I talked to would get £10. Disgrace, plus can not cancel

I have given notice to terminate a contract with Yell. I have sent numerous emails but they don't reply. I have phoned them several times and they said someone would contact me but they haven't done. It just looks like a tactic to extend the contract. They are wasting my time and I'm annoyed by it.

Thank you for the message. As discussed, I accept the offer without prejudice. I reserve the right to seek legal advice with a view to obtaining additional compensation based on the issues we have discussed. These including: Failure to change campaign targeting as agreed with account manager at outset. Failure to deliver on increased enquiries as sold to me because of Yells’s partnership with Google. Failure of web site to deliver an acceptable level of enquiries (23 total, despite total budget expenditure each month. Average cost of £125.22 per). No evidence of organic search results. Web site clearly not optimised. Please escalate as requested. Please provide a copy of the associated HTML and files so I may seek an opinion on the ability of the web site to generate traffic organically. Please can you tell me the date you have on record on which I reported incorrect contact details in my campaign. Kind regards, Steve Boorman

Do Not Waste Your Money. This is what has happened to my business. Dear *** As part of the general disclosure, please can you send me all details associated with my Ad Words campaign. Please include Ad Groups, phrases, key words etc. I note your advice that Yell is not regulated by an ombudsman, and that Yell do not have a complaints escalation procedure. It is a shame that after many years of association, and that for a micro business such as mine, a great deal of expenditure, that Yell take no responsibility for the failure of my campaign. The web site failed to deliver. Cancellation was not an option owing to 12 month contract. It is a fact that cannot be disputed that my enquiry rates dried up after the launch of the Yell web site. It is my view that I have been poorly advised, left unmanaged (I have no idea who took on my account). I was not offered an annual review in December, and have wasted in excess of £4000.00 Kind regards, Steve

if there was a ZERO score, I would give that to Yell.com. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in all my life. Don't get me wrong, the sales team are excellent at what they do. Unfortunately there has been no service provided to me following taking my money. And they won't even speak to you if you're dissatisfied. I would highly recommend NOT using them and be satisfied with their free listing. Appalling!

Yell.com is actively trying to destroy my excellent reputation by letting some one that has had no dealings with my company leave a anonymous fake review . They refuse to remove it and refuse to tell me who left it . I know 100 0/0 this is a fake review by the accusations made . If there was a no star option I would have left it . Do not join yell reviews unless you want your reputation damaged . As this is a genuine review I have no problem leaving my name . Lee lgm

Cancelled Yell Services down before the contract even began. The cancellation was confirmed weeks ago and I cancelled the direct debit through my bank weeks ago. This morning an unauthorised payment was taken out of my account from Yell. When I contact them about this, the accounts team tell me that there is a back log of cancellations and they didn't get to mine on time and now I must wait a week to be refunded! What's funny is there's clearly no back log in re-instating the direct debit which they did a few days ago?! Absolutely outraged!!

Poor service from Yell regarding reviews. They’ve created a platform whereby third parties can at will destroy a business with false reviews. Yell’s policy is to write a response, they’ve created a platform that only they can Police. It’s self serving at its best.

I made an initial enquiry for their 'free' business advertising but after getting a call from their agent Donna Scott, I was conned in to a 12 month contract. Donna was very pleasant on the phone and I was promised the world including a website and lots of business for just a small fee per month. I was not told that I was signing up to a contract so believing that I could change my my mind and cancel or even try it for a couple of months, I gave this woman my card details to pay for some good advertising, which she said would be much better than the free advertising and also my own website ect. Anyway, after two days when realising we would be moving away sooner than i had expected, I called to ask them to cancel whatever we had discussed as I was now moving away so wouldn't be working in this area. I was told that it was impossible as I was now in a contract. This was in October 2018 and since I've had lots of emails and phone conversations with various figures in management who all tell me that as a business customer I have no rights to cancel early and if I do I will have to pay. Fair enough! The fact that I contacted them withing two days of speaking to the sweet talking con woman obviously has no value so I decided to just let the ad run until the end and then would leave after the twelve months. I also wrote a letter to cancel anf made sure it was sent recorded and got to then within the 14 cooking off period which most decent companies allow. The reason why I'm writing this review is to let everyone know that since October, even though I have been paying £36 per month, I still have NO WEBSITE and Iv not had a single call for business. Not one call!!! So I'm now out of pocket as any little business I do get from another small advert that I have placed elsewhere has to pay for this rip off service that I'm having to pay for. I had a lot of respect for Yell as a company as they have been around a long time but I really wish I had read all the bad reviews before being ripped off by this EVIL company! The bad reviews are real so please read them and believe them and stay away from Yell. Keep your cards details away from these evil people as once they have them, you are doomed!

Shocking. We took out an advertising plan for 12 months and have seen zero return. All we have had is phone calls from people who have found us on yell and want to sell to us. We have also have email enquiries which are all spam. When it comes to cancelling, I rang up and was in a queue for 40 minutes. Tried the line for the sales team instead and was put through instantly (shock). Now after confirming that I want the plan cancelled now my 12 months is up, I have to wait for a call back from another team member to get this to happen. Amazing how Yell can get you to sign up so quickly but when it comes to cancelling, they make it as hard as possible. Disgusting. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
