I had an extremely disappointing and stressful experience with 247 Home Rescue and I would strongly urge anyone considering them to think very carefully. We are a household with vulnerable occupants, an 8-month-old baby and a 70+ year-old so a reliable boiler and competent engineers are essential. After reporting a boiler issue, I was charged a £95 non-refundable excess fee. The attending engineer, Elsayed Abdelnaeim, diagnosed the problem as a faulty gas valve and declared the boiler Beyond Economical Repair (BER). I was then told the repair would be costly and not worth doing, with further charges suggested. This diagnosis was completely wrong. Concerned, I sought a second opinion from an independent, qualified and more competent engineer. The real issue was simply a faulty ignition electrode - a minor and inexpensive repair. Once replaced, the boiler was fully functional again. In other words: • The boiler was not beyond economical repair • The gas valve did not need replacing • The BER decision was entirely incorrect Had I not challenged this and sought a second opinion, I could have been pushed into unnecessary and expensive work, or even replacing a boiler that did not need replacing. That is deeply worrying, especially when vulnerable people are involved. What made this worse was the lengthy and exhausting complaints process. I had to repeatedly chase, provide evidence, and push back before the company finally accepted the situation. Only after sustained pressure did they agree to: • Refund the £95 excess fee • Refund the monthly policy payment • Cancel the policy immediately Still awaiting the funds to be refunded, this should never have happened in the first place. Paying customers should not need to fight this hard to correct an obvious misdiagnosis. My advice to others: Be extremely cautious if you choose 247 Home Rescue. Always question diagnoses, always get a second opinion and do not assume their engineers’ assessments are correct. The risk of being misled into unnecessary costs is very real. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in the company and I would not use them again under any circumstances.

Basically their engineer lied about my leak, saying it was an old stain. They lie about what they cover and only do boiler service to sign you up to a new boiler

Gas engineer arrived disgruntled as he had been busy driving around the country !! Then swiftly condemned my boiler. The following day I was told my all parts and labour policy didn’t cover the part required! Then within 30 mins of the call to replace the part I was contacted and being talked into purchasing a new boiler over ten years! Thankfully I had my wits about me. Cancelled everything to do with 24/7 and got second advice. Ie boiler not condemned , needs a part yes but less than they quoted and boiler will function well for good few years! 24/7 !!! I won’t recommend them to anyone

What a bunch of liars. Told by the lady when booking they would look at my central heating leak and my boiler. When the engineer came he said he couldn’t tackle the leak but said he would get some sealant that would fix it and customer service would call me to arrange. They did call me but said they don’t do sealant repairs. When I told her the engineer was adamant they can she denied it and refused to give me back my call out fee as well. Nothing was done in the call out despite their promises. Liars the lot of them. Don’t trust. Minus 5 for the review.

Had an engineer today. I would like to say how impressed I was with the engineer H. Rashid. He was very efficient, very polite and friendly. Completed the job successfully and fully tested all the water to make sure all was working before he left. Also before leaving checked I was happy with work done and showed me a video of work he had done in the loft. I was kept informed on arrival time, given a three hour slot. So though happy with the engineer and outcome, I was not so happy when I rang late Sunday night as having a leak, water pouring from upstairs to the downstairs bathroom. I thought it was 24/7 but apparently it's not, though I did speak to a person, who at one point suggested my 12 year old Grandson could help me turn the water off. I explained I could not turn the water off.He suggested I rang an emergency plumber! that's what I thought I was doing. Unbelievably at the end of the conversation he asked if I could answer a short survey! I was a bit busy emptying buckets that were rapidly filling up. Outcome I had to phone the emergency plumber, who luckily was working 24/7, he turned water off and told me what the problem was. Unfortunately he did not have the part. So eventually on Tuesday the engineer arrived. So well done to H.Rashid the engineer. I hope the company appreciates him and gets to see this review.

These guys say that they cover your boiler breakdown but the reality is they make you wait for so long for someone to repair it that you end up arranging it privately and the they refuse to reimburse you. DO NOT TAKE A POLICY OUT.

Failed to properly fix plumbing issue. Customer service unhelpful. Had a policy with this company, had an issue with leaking radiators. Engineer sent out and tightened up the connections and said any problems to call back 247 home rescue. Radiator started to leak again started to leak again and I contacted 247 home rescue to advise. I was then told I would have to pay out another callout charge as it was outside a 14 day period. In fact it was only a month later. I would expect repairs to last longer 14 days. In light of the above, I said I wanted to cancel the policy as they were not providing the service I was paying for. I cancelled my direct debit which they reinstated without my authorisation, and then stipulated that I had to pay £120 to cancel. It has now been referred to the ombudsman.

Terrible service! They advertise 24/7 support, but when my boiler broke down, they refused to send an engineer because they “didn’t have enough staff.” I have two kids at home, and they expected us to wait until weekdays—what’s the point of 24/7 service if they can’t actually provide it? Their engineers are completely unprofessional. One told me certain parts needed replacing, and when another came, he said something else and refused to fix it. They already charged me for the repair, yet the boiler stopped working again in less than six months. If they can’t hire enough engineers, they shouldn’t claim to offer 24/7 service. Avoid this company—it’s a waste of time and money!

Terrible customer service and aggressive sales including reactivating my policy without my input after cancellation. It took two phone calls of 20 minutes plus just to confirm that I did not want to renew the policy (aggressive upsell despite confirming numerous times that I had sold the property and was no longer a landlord) I have then received marketing texts, emails and calls every week for nearly 3 months and then they reactivated my policy with zero authority from myself. I have just finished a call with a customer service agent who has arranged a refund but when I asked what my options would be if I received any bank charges (the account the direct debit was taken from is no longer active and so the payments were from the overdraft) they repeated their refund script but "as I have already explained to you" and "I have already told you" then asked me if I would like to renew the policy...

Last week referred to boiler failure reoccurring after repair man left. They sent another on Friday...needed new parts which were promptly fitted. Less than 2 hours later , boiler failed again and again and again. Repirted it straight away and now waiting for another visit.

Paid for annual cover plan and then extra to book a service. Service was completed but then the radiator they used to drain the system started to leak. They refused to come back and fix and instead forced me to pay an extra £95 to get someone to come and fix something that they caused. Wouldn't recommend or continue cover at the end of the policy.

Avoid at all costs , had a leak last night water gushing from the stopcock in the wall, could not get hold of a 24/7 company! When I finally got someone on the phone they said they will contact within 24hours, my house is being flooded and I am meant to wait up to 24hours for a call back. If a flooding house is not an emergency I don’t know what is! They also suggested on the phone that a leak might not be covered , the whole policy was about covering this type of thing. Let’s see if a complaint gets anyway as I had to pay for a plumber to come out to fix straight away.

Got exactly the same as most other people. Been paying 24/7 for boiler maintenance but recently had a leak on boiler but they refused to repair because they said boiler was too old. The Engineer advised me they would not cover any repair over £100 even though they took £95 excess off me. I advised them they have not even attended my property this year to carry out the safety check and maintenance which the basically shrugged their shoulders at. I got an independent engineer out who fixed the boiler in minutes and showed me the fault was not where the 24/7 claimed to be and was just on a small valve, repair cost £120 which included call out fees. Had similar issue with 24/7 over a year ago where engineer come out took 3 visits to try and fix boiler until I highlighted to him the fault was not with the boiler but with the Thermostat. I supplied a thermostat but the company tried to bill me for one stating their Engineer supplied it from his van. They also tried to charge me over £200 to drain the radiators claiming this was needed to be done for the repairs to be carried out and was not covered under the contract. They were a bit shocked when I refused this and advised the radiators did not need to be drained. Obviously this company runs a number of Scams and I can only suggest their “Engineers” get a bonus for each one completed. Please be aware people do your research first, just remember companies like this can easily leave their own positive feedback

Old boilers aren't covered for repairs over £250. We have a boiler that's 14 y/o and basically paid £55 for cover then £95 excess for them to come out and tell us it was BER. This is 'Beyond Economic Repair', and means because the cost of fixing it was more than the boiler was worth they refused to repair it - basically like writing a car off. This is the case with any boiler over 10 years old and you don't get told about it when you sign up. So, if your boiler is old, I wouldn't bother. We've basically paid them £150 for nothing. As someone who's renovated a house from the electrics up, I've never, ever had to pay a huge fee up front for someone to come out and do absolutely nothing. Cherry on top of the cake is, because we've not been with them 12 months we also don't get a penny off them replacing it either. It feels like a scam and I'd hate someone else to go through the same thing.
