We had a very frustrating and negative experience with the company. They charged us a £95 call out charge having said we are covered by our service agreement, and then asked for over £250 for additional costs. Wenhave refused to pay, and it would have cost us just £150-180 to get it fixed by a local plumber. Now the issue remains unresolved, we paid £95 for nothing. Very bad service, we shall cancel our contract and not use them again.

This company is a joke and take the customers for a ride. This is my third bad experience with this company and first two incidents I got fed up explaining to the complaint department and got it fixed by hiring someone and recovered the cost with an standard apology from this company. This time it is a joke of the year! When I report a fault about the leak between the toilet pan and the drainage pipe, I got a call from this company that I have to remove the toilet pan to make access to the engineer and send them a picture as a proof and then they will send and engineer within 24 to 48 hours according to their time guidelines and once the engineer fixed the leak I have to hire someone to fix the toilet back. Because according to the policy conditions customer has to make access to the engineer to carry out the repair. Is anyone with little common sense will understand that this policy can’t be applied in this nature of the repair. Because the leak is to do with the toilet pan and the connecting pipe. When I asked how the engineer will repair the leak when these two items are separated and the blunt answer is it is up to the engineer! Do this company has a moral responsibility towards the customer put the family without a working toilet more than 12 hours? I am trying to make sense from 4th October 22 until now but today I got a call from this company that they can’t send the engineer out from tomorrow because my policy will expire tomorrow and I refuse to renew the policy. Can anyone reading this review can justify how this company treating this issue? My request to other customers is can we form a Forum and make and stop this company not to mistreat customers in this way?

I was called to cancel a Thursday morning appointment to service my tenant’s boiler at 6:15pm the night before. The appointment had been made ONE MONTH before. Given some story about the engineer having to deal with multiple ‘emergency appointments’ and would only be able to attend in another seven days. This, btw, is a property in Manchester City centre. Robotic agent with zero empathy, faux care and no desire to remedy. Said manager had ‘gone home’ and no escalation possible. Promised call back didn’t happen. Oh, and they love to close a complaint like it’s a win! So, if you’re looking for a dishonest, time-wasting outfit, you’ve struck gold.

I have been attempting to get someone to repair my boiler for 3 weeks (ongoing fault for months now). Each time I contact them they say they will contact me. I have been contacting them up and down the whole time while the boiler still remains the same. They keep blaming the boiler manufacturer. You get what you pay for. Cheap and un-cheerful. Once my contract runs out so do I.

What a joke of a company. Boiler broke down so no hot water, informed that they couldn’t get anyone out for 3 to 4 days. 24/7 cover doesn’t live up to its name. Policy cancelled and I’ve gone with a more reputable company.

Don't bother with their policies, absolutely worthless when it comes to making claims. ,Misleading terms and conditions that make it impossible to put a claim forward. Avoid.

Its horrible to deal with its a very very very bad service every single time you had an issue either they dont want to deal or your claim is not accepted or if they come to fix the issue then they need money out of you after you paying full service ,they had there own rules and regulation it does not matter if you pay for every thing they still want you pay , There engineers are always right and others engineers are not .......terrible service they say what they want to say you dont feel you are a customer and what ever service you had it does not matter to them as I am paying for everything as i have highest level of service and they will say you got this fault and for that you have to pay we wont repair you are not covered the issue and will ask awful money to fix so what i am paying for ? very bad and poor , i used to have contract with other company and i thought if this company is given same level of service for little bit less money so i join them but the law they show you after sale service is horrible , i never had this type of issue with my previous supplier

Boiler service carried out as expected however, make sure you ask them to explain their poorly worded terms & conditions in detail. A fault was found on the boiler during a service (I knew the boiler has a fault before the engineer arrived as my radiators have been on full for the past week during the hottest week in the UK. The company refused to fix the boiler as the fault was discovered on a service. I urge anyone who takes out a policy with Home Rescue have another company carry out a boiler service and if there are any faults you then report it to them (I am sure there is something in the terms that they also state that if there is a fault they won't fix it). I am not sure the purpose of getting boiler cover if they do not fix a fault when it shows it self. I am sure the customer service agent will send a reply that spins what actually happened with what did happen just know if you get a service and they discover something wrong with it they will refuse to fix the problem. I am taking this matter further with the FCA and recommend anyone who has this same issue do the same. They will claim that the boiler service is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service as the boiler service is a non-regulated product but I don't see how this is possible and even if it is I do not have an issue with the boiler service I have an issue with the fact that my boiler has a fault and they are not fixing it without a fee. Shameful company with poor business practice. I took out a boiler contract with them but they refuse to repair a boiler breakdown as they wouldn't cover work if a fault is found during an annual boiler service. I see no differences when the fault was found. A fault is a fault. I was misled and misinformed. Please avoid it at all costs.

Terrible service. Boiler service completed and ever since water running hot and cold. Raised this with them only to be told it’s thermostat and not included in my policy. Was working fine before the service. They refuse to admit fault, charged me for an engineer to call and they customer service is awful. Call center clerks aren’t helpful nor do they pretend to be. I would not recommend this company, far better ones out there. They may be cheap but they are cheap with awful customer service. You get what you pay for.

Avoid this Company been with them 2.5 yrs first time I called them out they said it was beyond economical repair, based on its age which they had increased by 3yrs & included damaged flue is cosmetic only pre existed start of cover also included repair cost of damage incurred by their Engineer. They then have pushy sales people trying to sell you a new boiler. Their business practices are shameful

Foolishly spent 2 years with them, simply AVOID them specially if your boiler is a bit old; their only intention is to sell you a new boiler at very high prices and long term (up to 10 years) contracts that if you scrutinize they are daylight robberies. their trick is to offer you parts and labour on new contacts for old boilers but they don't tell you the details and cost ceilings etc so for any breakdown they take the £75 visit fee and then refuse to repair on cost issues to force you buy a new boiler from them. So do not touch them with a BARGE POLE. Period

TERRIBLE SERVICE- AVOID TERRIBLE SERVICE- AVOID Having spoken to several people at 247 home rescue today and was assured I would get a call from a manager. Which has not happened. The engineer was in my property for less than 10 minutes. All he wanted to do was sell me a new boiler. I was not told or given a report from him. After speaking to 6 members of the company most could not understand and ending up in a call centre abroad we’re unhelpful. It is very obvious all they wanted to do was push me into getting a new boiler. They charged me £75 call out fee for less that 10 minutes work. The engineer was not professional at all, he did not leave a report and quickly left the property. I will not recommend this company at all. How unprofessional 247 home rescue is not worth the paper it’s written on totally disgusting rip of company do not take a policy out with them. They deemed my boiler unsafe expected me to buy a new boiler. I have been left without hot water too. I have had a 2nd opinion and will be fixed at less than £200. Please be aware!!! Rip off company!! Bad customer service!! AVOID at all cost!! Terrible customer service, poor engineer. Only offered £30 as a customer service apology when this company has caused me a great deal of stress. Water dripping from the boiler, no water upstairs to have a shower. I asked for my £75 call out fee to be reimburse as I now need to get a private plumber to rectify the problem they have caused & they will only give me £30. What a bad bad company Your policy will be worthless do not use 247 home rescue.

I had a breakdown policy in my rented flat and when the CP12 was due, 247 sent someone in to carry this out. On arrival the boiler was switched of by the tenant and the 247 employee, could not start the boiler and found that the PCB was faulty. No problem, I stupidly thought, as I had breakdown cover, but was told that it was void, as 247 found the boiler fault. I looked through their T&C's and could not find anything that related to this. I was then asked to pay £248.00 on 22.11.21 to get the boiler manufacturer in to repair the boiler. As we were in the winter months and the property was tenanted, I had no choice but to pay to get the boiler fixed. When the Ideal boiler repairer turned up, he changed the pcb and found that the insulation retainer/ionisation kit product no 171845 had not been changed according to the manufacturers recommendation, so he did this as well. This should have been done when the boiler was previously serviced by 247. The failure of this part could have caused a boiler meltdown and probably in extreme cases a fire. One of the clips had already broken that was holding the insulation, so it was only held by the other clip. I have asked 247 for the section in the T&C's that states "if 247 find a fault on the boiler, the breakdown cover is void" and have not received anything from 247. They have said that there is nothing that can be done as the breakdown was found by their repairer. I have also stated Ideal's comments here "I have however spoken with the engineer who attended and he confirmed that as an engineer working for the manufacturer’s he has a responsibility to check that the ionisation retaining pins are in place; he confirmed that they needed upgrading and would have expected this to have been picked up by the service engineer" This is unacceptable, as I am being charged for a service and it is probably not getting it done or the service staff do not know what they are doing. I have also paid for a breakdown cover, which is a waste of money, as 247 manages to wriggle out of carrying out repairs.

I have unfortunately been a customer with 247 for some time as a landlord, during which they have changed the price without warning and introduced excesses without warnng. I tried to change to another provider but it turned out 247 provided the service ! I have now got to the point of trying to cancel my policy because I have sold the property. I am now 25 minuites into the call to cancel the policy. It started calmly and culminated in the agent refusing to cancel the policy. They kept offering me 2,then 3,then 4 months free for a flat I don't own ,the conversation went round in circles and ended with me fuming and swaring at him(which I hate myself for) but I was not leaving that call till I had confirmation of cancellation and an email. I do not trust this company- you have to give them 30 days notice ,in the end I have still paid for next month that I dont want. They are unbelievably difficult to extract yourself from, have a none transparent pricing policy and the the service they offer is at best average.BTW you can't cancel by any other means than by telephone.

I had cover for boiler and radiator cover but had a problem with my bleed valve, they said due to it been a single radiator and not more than one radiator then I would have to pay a£75 surcharge , which was reduced down to £35 when I complained, A engineers came out and said he can’t fix this problem and will need another radiator to be installed, this would be sorted by another engineer as he only does boilers! I said while you are here can you service my boiler , which he replied no, as radiator would have to be fixed first, still waiting for a call about my Radiator from another team member, but no one has been in touch as if yet, going to cancel my contract and get a local gas Eng instead, I’ve gonna put this down a poor company which doesn’t deliver on what they say.😡
