Their communication is very bad. I do not recommend it. They say one thing then do the other. They also will email you, letting you know that your payment posted, even when it has not.

Barclays posts payments late on purpose in order to collect the late fee. This happened to me three times in the ten months I had this card. Mailed payments from Boston area to Philadelphia PO Box DAY AFTER statement arrived, twice they posted four days past due date, once they claimed they NEVER got the payment. It cost me over $64.00 in stop payment fees plus another $29.00 Barlclays charged me for a stop payment check, (even though the account was current when the stop payment was done. The account has been closed by me, and I would advise everyone NOT to open an account with Barclays, on ANY airline.

I currently have the Jetblue Barclay's Mastercard. In September during labor day weekend, someone hacked my Walmart account and placed two orders each over $300 and sent the items to my address. I was on vacation and was not even home to retrieve the items. Additionally, I was in a remote location where service was interrupted. When I noticed that my account was hacked through various text messages from Walmart, I immediately called Jetblue and claimed the orders as fraud. They took the charges off my credit card and said they would be opening an investigation. Two billing cycles later, one of the charges appeared back onto my credit card for $380. It took a week of calling Jetblue and calling Walmart to have the matter investigated. Each time I spoke with a customer rep from Barclay's, they told me something different each time- you can't call the fraud department, you can call the fraud department, you can't have it reinvestigated, we're opening a reinvestigation. It was back and forth and you can tell that the reps were reading off scripts. I had better customer service from Walmart when I opened an investigation on their end as well. Finally, after 5 separate calls to different departments, I was pushed through to a senior account representative named Richard. Richard was the first person I had spoken to who seemed genuine in helping me. He looked into the matter and verified the information I was able to provide based on the fraudulent transaction. He resolved my issue within an hour. I have now set up alerts for every transaction and a limit for the card as I do not feel Barclay's protects their customers when it comes to fraudulent use. I do not feel that Barclay's protects their consumers the way I have seen other credit card companies do. I'm only keeping the card as I have to travel home for the holidays and earning the miles towards flights is of great importance to me. The only reason I'm giving the card two stars is due to customer service I gratefully received from Richard in account services.

The AAdvantage Barclays Aviator mastercard is a scam. The contract I agreed to stated I would receive 70,000 miles after I made my first transaction. Four months later and dozens of phone calls to customer service at their 800-928-3075 number, they tell me every week that I have to wait 2 billing cycles. I have waited four billing cycles and every time I call I get the run-around. Buyer beware. This is a SCAM!

It’s awful to have a credit card that is issued in the United States but can’t talk to a customer service representative in the United States. Whenever you ask to speak with someone who speaks English it is impossible because your calls are directed to someone in philppines. You will not get anywhere especially when you are doing a dispute. This not a secure credit card either because they are instructing you to go to the place of business to start World War III

Do not get this card. I have good credit and wasn't using my card often for 1 year, well recently I started using my card more often to accumulate points and they literally decreased my limit. They suck!

There is no online way to start a dispute or to track it or to provide documentation. you have to call them daily to get the status and if they need something from you, you can only either fax or mail it to them. It's ridiculous. Chase and Discover allow you to initiate, track and update the dispute online. Customer Service is BIG FAIL! good luck getting help or someone that wants to help.

I have excellent credit, they did a deep dive hardcore inquiry on my credit and the best they can offer a 29.9 % interest rate. What a scam after the 6 month zero intro offer ill never use this card again.

I disputed a charge for Norton Anti virus on my credit card. they keep recharging it on my card. When I told the Barclay rep I had printed evidence I cancelled Norton several months ago after my computer was destroyed, the service rep said that they received evidence from Norton that we were getting the service. I asked how could they provide evidence of anti virus software when I no longer had the computer.? My computer was destroyed 6 months ago and there's no way I was getting the service and I told her I had confirmation of cancellation in writing from Norton. She more or less said there's nothing they can do. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she said one would not be available for over 48 hours. Then the rep gave me a phone number to call Norton. And it was a medical service company, not norton. I finally figured out from norton that they accidentally forgot to cancel the subscription in error. The representative on calling my barclaycard was so rude and talked over me and would do nothing to help. After 20 years I think it's time to cancel my card and maybe consider Citibank. Or chase. Over one hour on the phone with no results.

I tried to make a purchase for something online and I was scammed. I agreed to pay $39.99 for something and after I place the order I was billed $300. I contacted Barclays to tell them that I had been scammed. They closed my card as fraud and entered disputes on the two charges. I thought everything was going to be okay. Later they closed the disputes because they said they were not fraud they were scams and they don't cover you for scams. I did authorize the vendor to charge me but I did not authorize them to charge me $300. Barclays was aware the whole time that I had been scammed because I explained that to them. After 6 weeks and six phone calls and countless hours of time and stress they did nothing and I am held holding the bag for $300 because I fell victim to a scam. All along Barclays was assuring me that they were going to take care of it and I would not be charged this $300. Countless agents reassured me that it would all be taken care of. But alas I was not only scammed by the vendor I was also scammed by Barclays MasterCard who refuses to do anything about it. After 20 years of doing business with this company and tens of thousands of dollars spent each year on this card, they are refusing to help me after falling victim to a scam that is noted all over the internet. I will no longer be using Barkley's MasterCard and I suggest you don't either. They are not on your side and they do not reward your loyalty by protecting you when you fall victim of a scam. It's a $300 lesson but I will take my business elsewhere. Barclays is not a bank I can trust and if I can't trust them I'm certainly not doing business with them.

I literally placed 8 calls today JUST to update my information. The representatives are rude, disgusting, they are smart asses and DO NOT CARE to help their customers. They kept hanging up the phone and I WOULD NOT recommend this card because the customer service SUCKS!!!! I was on the phone with a manager and he was helping me out everything was good and then the call dropped randomly. This is a very very very poor experience I received. But then a women Tasha was able to help me out and she did an awesome job and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have any faith in this customer service staff.

I called to pay off my balance and I was on the phone for over an hour, got transferred 5 times and they asked me 9 security questions. I have never in my life. The supervisor (ID COEJSQ) was so rude. They then tell me I have to read them a code sent to the email they have on file to process my payment. I told them my 2 emails and they said those were not the right ones so I had to wait 24 hours or create a new email. This company is TERRIBLE. I’m so glad to close my account with them!!!!!

Barclaycard is what is given to you when you purchase a time share. Therefore I was stuck with them. I have 4 credit cards with them between myself and my husband. The credit limits we have are great until you use them. Once you start using the credit card they lower your credit limit without notice causing your credit score to drop. Why give you a $9k limit if they don't even let you charge up half of it without penelizing you. I always pay on time and always more than the minimum. We took a vacation and used the card, and they lowered the limit. Paid it off and git an increase. Used it for something else and they lowered it again. I have been a great customer for years and they still do the same thing to me. I can't close the accounts without hurting my credit. Oh and if you don't use it they say they will close it for you. No end in site. Why can't they just be fair?

Horrible credit card company and want to warn all about not using card. A balance transfer was completed from barclay credit card being sent to Citibank credit card on 10/23/2023 as of 11/22/2023 barclay credit card is refusing to help by completing a payment tracer since $6,000 was sent to the wrong account. Barclayngavr me the account it was sent to. They keep stating it is my issue to resolve and I have to contact Citibank to resolve it on my own. Citibank is telling me to contact Barclays. I just want my money back at this point before it is refunded out to a stranger

Like so many others, terrible and poorly trained customer service. I finally spoke to a rep. who's native language was English and he had more attitude then brains. He admitted they made errors and somehow that was my fault and I was being unreasonable asking questions.

I needed to raise my credit limit to pay for a medical emergency. I rang them and I was in a state, it took 15 minutes to get through as the automated bot sent me to lost and stolen cards, then I was directed again for another 5 minutes, when I got through they did not actually take my request seriously, but told me that it had all gone through and that it would work immediatley. They had raised it an 1/8th of what I had asked and because of their raising it a bit, I would have to wait a further 3 months to ask again. I obviously could not pay the bill. Someone could have died waiting 3 months! I tried ringing again for over 10 minutes but did not get through so gave up. It has taken 2 days of querying this decision on the app (no issues with credit) I said I would write a d-mning review and that I wanted to speak to a member of the management and so they blocked my helpline on my app saying there was a maintenance issue when there clearly is not (see images and times). Different operatives were replying saying how sorry they were and that they would help, but were saying the exact same thing. I have had numerous issues with the Barclaycard app, which never works well on a mobile, with their general customer care in the past and so I just need to leave and find a bank that actually does listen. Take heed they really do not care about their customers even if you have been with them for years!
