your prices were not the cheapest but I was made to believe that you would do your best for me ,which you probably did., when I took both home and car insurance with you. I could have saved myself over £30 on the deal but I stayed with you, I was also promised free legal insurance to combat the difference, I never received it but I never pushed for it so I must take part blame ,but when your promised something you expect not to have to fight for it as you could say it was never promised. very disappointed as I believed your company was ok . looking forward to your reply

I took my van insurance out with a plan in January 2015 when it was due for reanuall I was due to take it out again in January 2016 I was due to change my van at the same time to a electric one I was given a initial quote before I bought it and when i said I bought it a plan suddenly put the price up by £200 pound I was very upset and I will not be using your insurance again I feel I have been robbed.

Recently moved policy from Epsom to Exeter office (our new home). New Policy was deemed ness: but Due to the protracted information, was tired of the time spent on the phone as I feel that an inter-office transfer would have been more user friendly. If this was a financial gain move, then am not impressed! DG McManus

The experience obtaining the quotation was fine, and although not the cheapest I decided to sign up as you had been recommended by my wife. After a week I received a standard letter saying the policy would be stopped as I hadn't provided my proof of no claims. The letter was blunt and not customer friendly. I had not previously been asked to provide the no claims proof! I sent the information immediately. I then received another letter stating that you had been trying to contact me. I had one voice mail message which I returned within 10 minutes at 4.57pm. The phone wasn't answered. I had to phone 3 times the next day before I could talk to somebody, and I never got to talk to the person who sent the letter, she was apparently too busy! Although not too busy to send a poorly worded standard letter after one attempt at contacting me!! The vouchers promised have not arrived!! Based on the service received so far I will not be renewing my policy with you next year. Overall it's been a poor experience. I am very disappointed, I expected a friendly local personal service, it's been far from that regrettably. Michael Salter

When I rang regarding a quote for wedding cover, I was told a flat price of £26 per wedding. When I rang back two months later to book one, I was told there was an extra £10 administration fee on top. I'll be going elsewhere for my next policy thank you.

Quote was good and cover, But this is the only good thing I have experienced with this motor insurance! I was not happy with constant phone calls / Letters / emails Felt pressured and bothered.. And I also sent an email saying this.

Not impressed by some of the staff at the Alton Office. Have the feeling I have been scammed! Will not be using that office next year.

After taking out a policy with A-plan and reading through the proposal that I was sent I rang to query a few points. I was then informed that the policy didn't actually cover half the things I'd originally requested. After a reasonably lengthy telephone conversation I was told that I would then be sent an amended proposal, a covering letter detailing what had been agreed with the underwritter and a copy of our telephone conversations . This was over a fortnight ago and I have still received nothing to date. Not a very confidence inspiring experience so far.

I was very disappointed that I came back after a year away from APLAN, to be given a quote which INCREASED by £40 when the insurance took effect. I had queried a point BEFORE the insurance began, which influenced the cost, but they didn't get back to me until almost a week after the nsurance had begun, telling me it would cost £40 more. The salesman concerned tried to pressurise me to pay the extra £40, saying he just wanted to make sure I was insured correctly, but saying it in a pressuring, almost aggressive way, repeating it a couple of times. I asked if he was saying I wasn't correctly insured if I didn't pay it, and he said no. A different APLAN employee (one I have dealt with regularly and who is courteous and helpful) dealt with me later and apologised. He reduced the amount to £20, but I should never have had to pay for some employee's slackness. I am very unhappy about the matter and, needless to say, it has changed my view for future renewals. I am sad about the current situation now and regret having come back and paid more than ALL quotes given by other companies. Margaret Jennings

Sometimes that information subsequently changes and to ensure the right cover is in place we need to generate a new quote based on the updated information – which can have an effect price, as it did in this case. I requested a quotation for both caravan insurance and house insurance. The caravan was very expensive which was not surprising. The house insurance was more expensive than the price I had been quoted ( which I had informed you) for a policy which was not as good. I then had another price which I refused because I believe this price should have been made in the first place.

Having taken out Motor and Home insurance with A Plan in the space of two week, I subsequently received two phone calls (on one of the occasions the day after purchase) asking me if I'd like to buy motor and home insurance as my contracts were up for renewal! I hope that if I need to claim, they know what's going on between the different departments. Poor on the credibility stakes...

Your rep in the Horsham office copied my home address incorrectly from my driving licence, and also failed to register that we have a second car. As a result, my car insurance documents were sent to the wrong address and had to be reissued with corrections. Your employees should be trained to check that they have recorded basic information correctly.

Find it frustrating that each branch are unable to quote for all different insurance and give you a telephone number of a different branch .....

firstly when deciding to take up a plan they didnt phone me back for payment as promissed I had to phone them the next day and secondly they promissed to send the estate agents by email the documents that day but didnt only sent when I phoned and complained I hadnt received my documents, I still didnt receive the documents and had to phone again the following week then eventually got them by that time the cooling off period had expired so not too good need to kick a few butts I think!!!
