“Once again I have had an issue at the Kidbrooke Aldi Uk store over staff wishing to rummage through my empty shopping bags before processing my shopping. This time I was called a ‘stupid woman’ by this young man called Luke when I told him I’d had this before more than once and with Aldi Customer Services online. I have just left £100 worth of shopping at the till and I do £200 shopping per week mostly in the Kidbrooke store because the staff are rude. Aldi has no right to rummage through my shopping bags. They are mine. If I walked out of the store with a trolley load of shopping unpaid for they would not stop me yet they think it’s ok to rummage through my empty bags when I’m trying to pay for my shopping.”
“I’ve just spent £114.21 at Aldi (Wragby Road Lincoln store) and the beans were labelled at 28pence, however at the checkout they wanted to charge me 42pence. I questioned this so the cashier called for the manager who said it was a mistake because of an overflow of 42pence stock which had been placed on the top shelf, labelled at 28pence. I suggested they remove that label as it was confusing and could I replace them with the 28pence beans? He told me they were out of stock but he refused to sell the 4 tins on the checkout at the advertised price or even at a reduction. I therefore asked them if I should go to Tesco instead to which he politely replied we don’t want you to go to Tesco but he still wasn’t willing to offer at least some kind of reduction as a gesture. So for the sake of 56pence this customer, on principle will not return to Aldi and they have lost my average weekly spend of £150. Tesco and Asda’s gain!! I have tried to add photos but it won’t upload from my iPhone”
“They have just put in self-service checkouts in my local Gainsborough Aldi store.
When I went in all the tills were closed except the self-service.
I asked which till was open and they said these pointing to the self-service.
I said I had cash and looked at me as if I did not have a choice, they did open a till up
But if I wanted cashback or some carrier bags, you cannot get from these from the self-service machines so why push them onto the people who don't want to use them?”
“Stafford Aldi, queensville….what has happened to this store? No cottage cheese for the past 3 weeks, no squash, went today, Saturday at lunchtime…no milk???!!! No brown rolls….I’m going back to tescos.”
“If I could give you a 0 I would!
Shopped at Aldi in Wallsend for years. Been today and worker had absolutely shocking attitude!
She has no customer service skills. Someone needs to send her back to training. Only problem is I never got her name.
Won't ever step foot in Aldi again. Shocking experience.”
“This Aldi‘s was the dirtiest store I’ve ever seen. I had my little dachshund with me which I take everywhere and the store was so dirty that I had to hold him in my arms because he kept trying to lick the floor.there was food on the floor. He’s usually very good about that in a clean store. Then some person named Libby walked up to me who I had passed when I first walked into the store with my dog and told me that I would have to leave because the store doesn’t allow dogs. Why she didn’t tell me that when we first walked into the store I don’t know. I told her that we had been in the store for 30 minutes and we were almost done and we would not bring the dog back again . She said no you have to leave now or I’m gong to call the police. Never been treated so rudely in my life. She was loud and did this in front of other people in the store. It was so embarrassing. I will never be going back to that dirty disgusting store ever again.”
“Shocking customer service, the till assistant told me that I should have gone to the checkout instead of coming to her till after she let someone push infront of me, continued smirking. I asked for the manager the manager took her side I started recording the incident and he snatched the phone off me and pushed me to which I then pushed him back and banned me from his store. I asked for both their names but they wouldn’t provide me with it even though the customer service team said they need to be wearing their badge and provide the first name. I shop at aldi many times, so they’ve just lost a customer . The staff need serious training. The situation could have been handled completely differently if the manager just deescalated the situation instead of escalating it. I’ve worked in customer service before and I’ve never experienced anything like it. Aldi need to have a serious word with them because they’re bad for business! Awful customer service and I’ll never shop at aldi again. I’ve posted the interaction on TikTok and I hope people can avoid the Leeds road Thornbury store in Bradford”
“Hello team,
I have always been a big fan of your Belmont fig roll biscuits, until the last box I bought when I was hugely disappointed that you seem to have changed the recipe, they were not even good,it wasn't an out of date box, in fact the usual ones I liked even if i had left them out to get hard!
I went to pick one up today to try again, but sadly really they are not even palatble enough.
I don't eat many biscuits but they were my go to, and only Aldi fig rolls! So sad about that.Otherwise Aldi is still a great store!”
“I bought 1kg of top rump from Aldi last weekend and I had to throw out most of it as it was full of gristle and so tough despite following cooking instructions Had visitors .Soo embarrassing”
“Aldi Queensville Stafford
i have done part of our monthly shop by myself since I retired but my wife has come with me on the last 2 occasions. After last weeks experience in Aldi Queensville Stafford my wife said she wouldn't shop there again on principle! I have put up with bad behaviour because of keen prices but having been nearly hit by a pallet truck coming out of the rubber doors from the warehouse at a rate of knots with no apology and a male cashier talking non stop to someone else while serving us!! enough is enough. i wont wait around to have my bags checked. I have been associated with customer service for most of my working life and know good and bad when I see it. This store has much to learn.”
“Aldi -little Venice store
The staff are rude and arrogant and racially profile
Lots of Arabs stealing and pushing in the (very long) queue
The place and staff need a radical overhaul”
“I went to Aldis in Newbury Park. I had a basket paid for my things. The Assistant said can I see in your bag it was a small Mn S bag with a bra in it I had been to hospital as I have breast Cancer. I said no there was a man behind me she said she had too look in it . I was so Embarrassed coustomer service do not care they said they will surch people. They done the same to my sister a few weeks ago wanting to see what was in her shopping trolley and she is ill. Apparent I was told they are loosing customers doing the same to them. I will shop at Lidls now more fresh. At Christmas Aldis had two doors of the fridge all the food was warm. Rude staff .,yet there ment to support cancer”
“Cullompton Aldi has the worst customer service out of all the supermarkets they constantly talk to each other on their headsets,if we used our mobile phones we would be classed as rude”
“Being asked to place my flat bags on the checkout (to which i complied) to then have a cashier who may pick her nose and scratch her dirty privates rifle through my bags which are bought and paid for looking for goods i am presumed to have stolen is an insult, not a quick glance, a proper rummage through When i am told this is because others ruin it for everyone else and everyone is now treated the same, i am obviously going to say so you treat everyone as thieves then, i then told her its not theft until someone has left the store and that some customers will feel embarrassed and insulted at this new rule, she said she was told to do this, i felt sorry for her because she is a cashier. BUT next time I'm asked to place my personal bag on the till it may contain a pair of my dirty underwear which she can then rummage with all she wants as i can carry what i want in my own bags that i bought, you see i treat others as they treat me, so if im treated liked scum i will let that person handle my scum”
“I ordered a $50 order online. When delivery time came, I received a text telling me the driver was having a hard time finding my address. About two minutes later after I text more directions, I received another text saying the order was delivered. I did not receive the order at all, so I called customer service, which is a terrible experience. I was put on hold many times, and the when I finally was given a refund it was only for the groceries. I needed another $14 for delivery charges. So I was transferred to a Specialist! She put me on hold more than once and finally said I would be given a gift card to spend at Aldis because of the inconvenience I had endured. But it turns out the gift card was only for the delivery charges they owed me ($14). As I only shop on line and this card has to be spent in store I have had to give it away. It is no use to me. I spent more than an hour on the phone, and it has left me very unhappy with Aldi, and will not shop there again.”
“No one to check us out so went to self check out and finally a lady showed up and was the rudest person i have ever incountered. She stated we have other things to do than check u out and if you don’t like it don’t come back. Well we never will. Aweful person very rude in Missouri”
“I popped into my local Winchester branch of Aldi's this evening after a long drive home.
At the checkout I was TOLD to put my flat folded bag on the conveyer belt. This was examined by the assistant and proved to be empty.
I was fuming, but too tired after my journey to speak to the manager as I new I would be fobbed off.
I know shops have a problem with shop lifting, but that's not my fault. Treating honest customers as thieves is not the way to go. I have looked on various websites this evening and found that many of your customers have experienced the same treatment, and feel as I do.
Needless to say I won't be coming back to your store until you have stopped treating me and the many, many honest customers as thieves. I don't like being treated as one.”
