“I never received a reply to email:
Dear Sirs,
I was in Aldi Hounslow [Hospital Rd.] yesterday when your Employee, who said he was a security man, stopped a woman and asked her to open her shopping trolley to search what she had inside. I thought maybe she has done shoplifting and did not pay much attention. I was shopping with my 7 yr. old daughter. This man searched her bag and was rudely telling her that she was not allowed to bring her shopping trolley inside the shop. She said she did not know that she was not allowed to. I accept that it must be a supermarket rule and quite understandable, but his approach was totally wrong and rude against someone in her late 50's. She was Asian and he appeared Asian too. She was most upset and she told me that he was very rude to her. I felt that she was treated like a common thief. She returned after having left her bag and just with the shopping trolley. Again I saw them exchanging words, and he was with another shop attendant. I was in the same corridor. She still appeared most upset being challenged by the two of them. I felt a duty as a responsible citizen to speak on her behalf and said that I witnessed that he was very rude towards her and he should not speak to her in that wat as she is a customer. He told me that I should not interfere and asked me to leave the shop. I was shocked that he was dismissing me from the shop there and then just for having supported this unfortunate lady. My daughter and I were practically thrown out of your Aldi. My daughter was very upset as she has chosen her favourite sweets and had to leave it in the trolley. I was left shocked and dismayed and very upset. I am a pensioner and was treated so abruptly, unfairly, and felt so disgusted by the attitude of this security man, who could well have been the manager himself. When I asked who he was he refused to tell me or give me his name, saying that I don't need to know. I left my trolley there forgetting to take my £1 coin. Please can you return my £1 coin as I borrow it from my daughter who always keeps it for the shopping trolley? This man was well dressed, medium built, dressed in a black suit, too smart to be a security man, and oh yes, He also had a mustache, I think and was Asian like me.
Please send him for a course in customer care and diplomacy, because no employee of this very much-loved supermarket can have an employee who is lacking in tactful approach, and blatantly rude. He just could not have been trained that way. I did tell him he needed further training. I am sorry if I upset him too but old ladies need to be protected from abuse, I think. Please don't forget to return my daughter's £1 coin. I write to you this mail as I do not want to feel upset if I speak to you on the phone. Many thanks.

“This is a review about the hiring process at Aldi.
I applied for a role at one of the Oswestry stores in March, a very basic role might I add. Got invited for an "assessment" about a week later. I was given no more than a few days notice, and was offered a single half an hour time slot to 'choose from'. No other information was provided. That's when I should have saved my dignity.
Fair enough, that wasn't a problem because I live across the road from the particular Aldi I applied for.
So I walk in, 15 minutes early. To be told to stand by the packing bench and wait for the manager. 30 minutes later I'm still standing there like an absolute weapon. That was my second opportunity to save my dignity.
Eventually I get called in for this ever mysterious 'assessment'. Which was, what I thought at least, a lovely chat with the store manager. Who told me I would hear back by the weekend (it was a Wednesday).
Lo and behold, almost a month later, I've been told exactly nothing about where I stand. I've chased it up 3 times with their supposed customer service team, only to be told on every occasion that my message was passed onto the hiring manager.
Just silence. This is the same store that I've shopped at for years. I don't know why they haven't responded. I'm literally sat here speculating. But what I can say with certainty, is that Aldi does not respect your time. Yet, as is their business model, expect everybody else to respect their time and get in and out of their shops as quick as possible.
It's just disrespectful and a sad representation of the world we live in today. And I know this won't mean anything to them, but I won't be parting money with them again. I would urge others to take the same stance, because these lot are taking advantage of an overly saturated job market”
“Tried earls pâté dog food. My dog then developed severe diarrhoea with blood in it for three days. He was crying every time he pooped. Had to spend £84 on pro kolin to stop the diahorrea. Cheap dog food costs money in the long run.”
“walked out of store accused of being a thief of a madam on self service who should be sacked for gross missconduct and security guard who took her word him being sorted by sia never go in this shop ever again full of idiots”
“The bean and bacon wraps are a mistake. They might be okay when fresh baked, but having sat on a shelf for I have no idea how long the acidic sauce in which the beans were cooked appears to break down the bacon, soaking the pastry in uric acid which unfortunately makes the pastry and the beans taste like urine.
An alternative worth researching might be the use of vegetarian bacon substitutes, the best of which are indistinguishable from products made from real dead animals.”
“Unfortunately on Aldi Marlborough Road is a rude sale associate she doesn't know haw to talk with customers always rude and evan when i call her "plese can you come" when she come on the rude tone she said "Why don't you call me" evan if she was laike 2 steps frome me i think her name is Agneta i think”
“If you like Chilli or have eaten a proper Chilli DON'T BUY THIS.
THIS IS AS FAR REMOVED FROM A CHILLI AS THE U.K. IS IN MILES FROM THE CONTINENT OF OF IT'S CONCEPTION. Harsh, acrid taste this has been designed by someone who has no idea what a proper Chilli tastes like.

“I bought brusell sprouts for 5 p in the super 6 on the 27 December and when I got home noticed I was charged 89p I couldn’t get back to the shop until today and was rudely told I should have come back on the day by the assistant serving with a loud voice Don’t forget Lidl is on the other side of the road I could go there in future”
“Usually Aldi is excellent , so I am disappointed that there has been one product that has been inedible . The 2 village bakery cut loaves seeded had to be thrown away as they both had nasty chemical smell and taste . The smell was very strong and quite unlike food smells more like a spray paint . I tried to complete the online complaint form but it refused to process the details .”
“Just went to Aldi in Ely, good and early, to buy a turkey and there were none!! The Saturday before Christmas! They only came in yesterday and they are gone. Surely they must have some idea of demand? It's quite ridiculous and I'm quite sure I won't be the only one in a panic today.”
“The staff and management in your Aldi in Strood Kent I find very rude try to make a complaint about blocking up the isles with cages. A customer on the opposite side to the cage couldn't get round made a comment politely to her and management and staff got quite irate wasent listening to what I was complaining about thought it was funny. WOULD IT BE FUNNY IF SOMEONE HAD TRIP UP ON CAGES. Staff and management course is in need in this store. My complaint was based on health and safety to customers. Stocking shelves should be done when it's quieter in the evening. Will never shop here again. As I was laughed at and made to feel uncomfortable”
“Aldi's employees are often rude. Customers get routinely abused. The managers of my local branch in Camden Town seem to accept and encourage such kind of behaviour. I was in the line for the till when I left my trolley unattended for about one minute. When I came back I found that members of staff were emptying my trolley. I asked them to stop, and to put my shopping back in the trolley, as I wanted to pay for it. The staff refused to bring back my shopping, and answered with sarcasm that if I didn't like their policies, I could go ave gone to Tesco. I asked them to call a manager. It turned out that the employee making sarcastic comments was an assistant manager named Mandeep. When I insisted to have my shopping back, rather than issuing an apology, the assistant manager sent my out of the store. From this day I definitely will never do shopping in any Aldi store again.”
“I asked an assistant on the shopfloor of ALDI angley Park Centre, Maidstone if they sold alcohol free white wine which they had a few weeks ago - he pointed vaguely to the top shelf - I asked if he would show me exactly where as I had looked there for several minutes but been unable to find it. Again he just pointed and seemed unwilling to actually come and point it out. So I went back and scoured the shelf he had pointed to no avail.
I then went to look for him to show me exactly where it was and found him deep in conversation with another colleague. He seemed very surprised that he should actually be asked by a customer to show them where an item is and gave a sarcastic smile. After a few more sarky looks he decided to lower himself to actually come and point it out - when I got there there was no alocohol free wine - so he made some excuse and gave a few more unpleasant and sarcastic smiles. Terrible customer service.”
“Shopped at Aldi UK, Middleton, Leeds 10, recently and used my debit card at the scan and pay machine. I asked the female assistant how to get a receipt from the machine, as there was no indication on the screen on how to do so. She didn't say a word to me... she seemed to have an attitude and seemed to look down her nose at me. This happened to me on two occasions with the same staff member, and I decided not to shop there again until some staff show a little respect and less attitude!🤢😢”
“went to Aldi store in McKees Rocks 15136 .. a customer that shops 2 or more times a week since opening .. brought my 15lb puppy on a leach with me .. was told they do not allow dogs in the store .. damn near every employee knows me, so I asked who was giving me this information ? .. it was someone from Corporate Office .. well I don't like being around screaming annoying children or smelly people but they are permitted in Aldi .. soooo I guess I'll shop elsewhere .. my money spends everywhere ..”
“Good afternoon, Aldi -Aylesbury, Cambridge street
I bought a sports bra yesterday, paid by card which was on my phone.
Today I took back the bra to the shop and asked for a refund.
As I paid by card the refund was coming back onto my card. I tried to tap the machine twice with my phone but the physical card was needed.
When I told that to the cashier my card was not on me he suddenly started to acting very srtoppy. I got the Money and I started to walk out when I turned back and asked why did he behave like this?!
He raised his voice and mumbled whatever he said.
Only people with manners and good customer service skills should work on the till in my opinion.”
“Aldi is the most expensive store, when you get fined in the customer parking.
Why wouldn’t a customer enter their registration number if they knew they had to?
Why do you have to enter your registration number when the camera captures vehicles entering and leaving the car park? Why not ask customers to sing or stand on one leg in the carpark in the contract set up for your customers with a private parking company. Then you can have your customers fined for not doing other things.
There is nothing in the store to make it clear or remind customers to enter a registration number.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a food retail ombudsman in this country to raise standards of conduct by food retail firms who operate here.
Every customer you fine I bet they don’t come back for a long time and they spread the word, Avoid.”
“Recently purchased Brooklea 0% greek Yoghourt 150gm . The taste was awful, not creamy as described on the lid. When I looked at the ingredients, it is made with maize starch , which I think contributes to the slighty grainy texture and unpleasant afteertaste”
“So, I bought a salad on Sunday from Aldi store at Shipley (Yorkshire) . The package said that this salad contains (and I quote). Apollo Lettuce, Cherry Tomato, Iceberg Lettuce,Lolla Rossa, Cucumber and Red Onion!! What it actually contained was, all the leaffy salad, 2 sliced Cherry Tomato, 1 very thin slice of cucumber, and No Red Onion at all. What a sorry state of a salad..”
“Bought some fillet steak twin pack from a Doncaster branch of Aldi worse steak I had in my life mentioned it on next visit to store basically not our problem rang customer service same not our problem”
