This is the worst company ever. I recently purchased a fridge freezer for £320 and I paid an extra £20 for my old old to be recycled. I mentioned on the website that I have stairs in the building. The delivery drivers came and refused to take the new fridge freezer upstairs and refused to take the old one with them even though I paid for that service. They said we don't think it's safe to take the fridge freezer upstairs even though curry's, argos and other major companies take all my orders up and down without any problems. So I phoned customer service team and was disconnected twice. 3rd time I called the customer service guy was saying his going to do me a favour by refunding my money for the recycling service.... HOW IS THAT DOING ME A FAVOUR BY REFUNDING MY OWN MONEY BACK... The then locked off after saying I'll receive my money back in a few days. I had call my friends over to help me carry the fridge freezer upstairs and had to pay another company to come and collect the old fridge freezer. This company is the worst company I have ever used.

Had an integrated dishwasher installed. The fitter left the warranty card and operating instructions stuck to the back of the machine. Told me go online to find out how to work the machine. Left a loose part and the child proof lock inside the machine and then set the dishwasher to run and left. I have no idea where the part goes - I only found it when the cycle had finished. Very poor service

We had a hob delivered and installed but the installation was very poorly done - I could get my fingers underneath the hob top and the counter and glue from the existing hob had not been removed so the new hob did not sit flush on the counter. Our counter top was damaged too. The end result was AO not taking any responsibility for ensuring that it got installed properly. We had to fix their bad workmanship ourselves or pay a different company to do so. We got the installation fee refunded but that is all. Numerous emails and phone calls with AO regarding when an engineer was going to come out to fix it but they never did and the booking never seemed to make it into their system. The company is irresponsible, badly run and not working according to the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act at all.

We had a fridge freezer delivered a week ago. It was wrongly installed and we had to wait for another installation team to come out. The fridge was still making a very loud noise so we asked for a replacement but were told that an engineer needed to confirm that it was faulty. We waited in for a third day for the engineer to indeed confirm that the fridge was faulty and we arranged for a replacement fridge freezer to be delivered a week after the original one had been delivered. Today the new fridge freezer was planned to be delivered to the same address with the same access as before but this team tell me they don't carry fridges down stairs. We were very clear in our instructions that there are steps and the width of doorways etc. We are currently waiting for a new delivery date over a week later than the original. We still have no fridge freezer, four days off work and at least another until we finally receive our fridge. When we call AO we are either sent to the delivery company or the manufacturer rather than AO dealing with the problem. We have a kitchen table covered in rotting food and AO are taking no responsibility to solve this problem. Never again!

Ripped my floor in multiple places upon installing the dishwasher and are now refusing compensation despite the face the delivery men admitted to it and apologized, ie accepting blame. Implied that customer had made it up. Fortunately I have the photographic evidence to prove otherwise. Investigating with lawyers now - will give it one more shot for what will be a measly amount of compensation for them in the bigger picture, but if no luck will be suing for the principle here as I am outraged.

I made an order online at 8.30pm at night for next day delivery which was an option when I made the order. Instead it processed through as the day after which was when my daughter was having an operation so I would not have chosen that day. As soon as I became aware on the Tuesday morning when I thought it was being delivered. I was offered no apology but told that was when I had ordered it for which was not true. First time I had used AO and will not be using them again.

The selling point for this company is their delivery convenience. What you need to be aware of though is if something goes wrong, is it reasonable to expect a washing machine to only last 12 months, apparently so according to AO, and the quote I received from one of their customer relations staff was so predictable, "things don't last as long as they used to do" They requested I got an engineers report, which I did that identified a common fault, they then stated they contacted BEKO and didn't receive a response so nothing they could do. My contract was with AO not BEKO, the consumer credit act, law, states so. But apparently AO are above the law.. This is an ongoing issue, they have offered at every opportunity to sell me a maintenance package, that does not deal with the issue. I have always spoken highly of AO not anymore, please avoid until they step up and take responsibility, as required by law.

Was tempted by their TV adverts saying possible next day delivery. Went on website to buy a dual fuel cooker. First possible date for delivery and installation was 11 days away. Wasn't happy but price was good so went ahead and ordered. Item delivered but when installed didn't work. The installers tried at first to blame my electrical connection until they tested the wire to find it was live and it was the cooker that was faulty. AO could only offer a replacement after another 10 day wait! Not prepared to wait three weeks from ordering to getting a cooker that worked so cancelled order. Had to phone again to chase refund but from the second phone call was processed quickly.

I had a delivery of a washing machine. The 2 delivery men were just about civil. They dumped it in my front room and left - not a good start. After unpacking and connecting it up I thought I would register the Candy washing machine for its free parts for 10 years - thats when it really went down hill. I had a really aggressive salesman from Domestic & General trying to flog me a 2 year extended warranty. In the end I got it through his brain I did not want the extended warranty all I wanted to do was register the machine. I have tried to contact AO.com but they do not want to speak to me. They just send me emails. I have spoken to Trading Standards over this matter.

I agree with all previous comments regarding problems with appliances ordered on ao.com. We've purchased a Zanussi cooker last year that was producing too much smoke and wanted to return it within the first month but ao.com didn't want to take it back or refund us trying to avoid taking any responsibility and referring us constantly to the manufacturer who seemed useless as they couldn't find any problem with it. Ao.com doesn't have active e-mail or online form for complaints, the one they have on their website is merely façade - it doesn't actually work and most people have to ring their call line and hang on for quite a while to be able to speak to them while they are being charged for calling. This is likely to be well planed as most people cannot get formal proof of the phone calls (as they are not in written) unless you record them .We've gone through lots of trouble for 6 months trying to return that cooker and we could clearly see that this company is not customer orientated but it is corporation style retailer focused on making profit and not dealing with consumer's problems adequately even when they present a life hazard. It is easy to leave a 5 star review for a fast delivery and first impressions but if anything goes wrong with your purchase, ao.com might not be there to fix the problem or compensate you for a faulty appliance. We wouldn't recommend this company, customers with less than a great experience are somehow restricted of leaving independent review online as ao.com's reviews are strictly controlled and possibly manipulated. We would also recommend customers to avoid Zanussi appliances for their extremely poor customer service!

Never use this company.....they hard sell useless insurance They take your money and claim they haven't...check other user reviews ...funny how its always the same pathetic excuses ....computer says no...well bank says yes so ao.com is either incompetent or fraudulent...probably both. If you need expensive electrical goods my advice would be to give your money to a reputable retailer and get what you pay for If you still have a need to lose your money on false promises and a company with shocking business practices just send it to me instead....at least I won't lie to your face

Paid for hisense fridge freezer , then told they wouldn't be able to deliver on the arranged date , then told the model we requested was no longer made , then they tried to sell us alternatives which were not to our specifications! Now we've got to wait 5days for a refund !!!!

Purchased a Hotpoint Tumble Dryer on 6 October 2015 and delivered on 10 October 2015. Press announcement in November 2015 just a matter of weeks after delivery that the dryer may be unsafe and some have burst into flames. I missed this press announcement. So we have continued using the dryer until Saturday 18 May 2016 when I see a press announcement. AO.com and Hotpoint have failed to contact us to let us know that these appliances may be dangerous and therefore put our lives at risk. Surely, these two companies have an obligation to contact us. AO.com refusing to get involved and passing the buck to Hotpoint, albeit that my contract is with AO.com. They have my address as they delivered to us. They have suggested that we can continue using the dryer as long as we stay in the house while in use? Will that stop the dryer bursting into flames? Don't think so. This is against the advice of a Chief Fire Officer, Which and Electrical Safety First. AO.com has our money, probably delivered the dryer knowing that it had a fault (as it was only a matter of weeks after delivery that it hit the press) and is simply not interested - great customer service???? Hotpoint have announced that dates to have the dryer repaired are now in 2017 (next year) so we are left with a Dryer that we can't use until it is fixed.

Tried to order a cooker from them yesterday. Nightmare. When you register you are told that you will receive a discount code for £20. I am still waiting for the code as apparently that gets emailed out to you. That was last night. So this morning I decided to phone them and find out where my discount code was. £20 isnt gonna break the bank, but if its a £20 saving that I want it. So discussed with a nice enough guy about the situation and he couldnt explain to me why I have received my code, so he will put my order through the system and give me the discount himself, OK, problem sorted. When it came to the delivery, they told me to deliver and install it will be the 1st of July. Today is the 8th of june so your talking nearly 4 weeks time. The guy then said, we can deliver tomorrow but we cant install, so why dont you get your own electrician to do that for you. That is poor customer service. He then goes onto explain that they are very busy at the moment. Its pretty simple, if your busy, get more staff. I have bought the same item from Currys, its costing me just over £10 more and its being delivered and installed next tuesday. I thought I was onto something good with this company and I had plans of buying a new washing machine next month. But they can forget it. ao.com what a load of rubbish.

It's partly my own fault. I've had a few bad experiences now but kept using them for some reason. Final straw now though. The first fridge freezer and washing machine I bought from them broke down in less than 3 years both within a week. I put that down to the cheaper manufacturers we used. The replacement fridge freezer arrived and my wife had accidentally bought an integrated instead of freestanding. Even after my mother explained the problem, the delivery driver shrugged and did nothing to help, and as a result, we are now stuck with a fridge freezer with no handles to open the doors, that looks terrible. The replacement washing machine arrived and I had paid for disconnection of the old one and removal of it and connection of the new one. Now I've had a call from my wife saying they couldn't disconnect the old one or remove it, or connect the new one. They gave some useless excuse about some little plastic piece missing from one of the connectors and not wanting to damage the plumbing of the house. I know all the pieces needed are there as I plumbed in the original when they again failed to do it. It took 5 minutes. It could be done with a couple basic tools. I just think their delivery drivers are bone lazy with no skills and horrible customer service mentality. They would clearly do anything to avoid any extra work. Pretty website but sub-standard goods and consistently shoddy customer service. Never again.

I placed an order on the 10th may 2016. I ordered Indesit I5VSHK_BK electric cooker. The oven didn’t work properly so I decided the return the product. To my surprise I was told that once the product has been opened and used ao.com will refund only 50% of the price. Although you can read from Ao.com website part of the Return Policy Make an exchange If the product isn't what you expected, maybe it's a bit too big or small for your home, we'll happily arrange an exchange for you. Ao.com employees explained to me that they will make the exchange, but I still will lose 50% of the value of the product I want to exchange. To make a summary, as soon as a product from ao.com enters your home you can not return it or exchange it unless you want to loss half of the price

I placed an order on the 11th may 2016, ft a belling F550EDOPC_6C electric cooker, I also booked in for connection. My original delivery date was for the 3rd June. I received a phone call from yourselves on the 12th May telling me if i cancelled installation and got my own electrician I could have it delivered on Saturday 14th May. I was more than happy to go ahead with this, as I would receive my items earlier. So I arranged for an electrician, I have had my old cooker removed, fully expecting my new cooker on Saturday. Now imagine my outrage, when I check my emails to see I have received one from you today at 5.30pm saying my cooker is OUT OF STOCK! No phone calls, no text messages, an email. Less then 24 hours before I am supposed to receive my new cooker. I am disgusted by this level of service. I did not arrange an earlier delivery, you called me! What kind of company calls a customer, tells them they can have their order earlier, gets them to rearrange an electrician and then emails to say out of stock! Would you be happy with this service? But not only am I disgusted with this, but I am appalled by your customer service team that I spoke to over the phone. When I read the email, I decided to call, to see if this was some kind of mistake, because let's face it, it's ridiculous. I was told over the phone, that my delivery would now be for Wednesday 18th may. Now bearing in mind I have discarded my old cooker, ready for my new one, so this would mean 5 days with no way of cooking for my 2 small children or my husband and myself. 5 DAYS! What is their solution " we will transfer £30 to your bank, so you can purchase takeaway for your family for the next 5 days" are you kidding me?? First of all takeaway for my children for 5 days is absolutely diabolical, what kind of parent do you think I am? I would never give my children takeaways for 5 days. And seriously, in what world could you ever buy 5 days worth of takeaways for £30! I would probably need nearer to £30 per day! Can you buy your family a takeaway every night for almost a week on £30? Not only that, I was then offered alternative cookers, and this is how your customer service team tried to sell them to me, " you can have a cheaper cooker that we have in stock delivered tomorrow if you like, but I wouldn't recommend it, as it's not very good" REALLY?? Or "we have another one that is also available, but you would have to pay £200 more" is that how you get more money out of people? Do you not have to have common sense to man the phones at ao?? Then to top it off I had a fridge freezer meant to be delivered today between 7-12. I've been awake since 6.30 to have a Facebook message no phone call to say someone has cancelled it for today. So now have no food, fridge freezer or cooker and 2 young kids. Unbelievable stay away from them

Recieved a dishwasher that was broken. Unfortunately AO policy is that it's not their problem and you have to claim under the manufacturers warranty. Totally not interested in an exchange or your money back. Buyer beware they are good when things work but awful when there is a problem

I had 3 broken "stoves" cookers delivered over a period of 2 weeks Customer service! At a cost of £180.00 in electrician fees to connect said cookers £34.00 in phone calls and take -aways When i asked for refund it was denied repeatedly by John They sent two Stoves engineers to fix the cookers even tho i had stated i would not accept a fixed cooker The problem we customers have is there is no complaints department as management and staff are close working colleagues working of a script which i pointed out to a manager when he used it twice in our conversation. Ao were not customer friendly and took no responsibilty for the companies failings Personally i would not recommend nor use this company again those sugar sweet words are nothing without action

I bought the Candy Grandò evo washing machine. It developed a fault within 20 months. A quick google told us it's a known fault the machine is notorious for yet AO have given us a abrupt it's out of warranty, it's our responsibility to pay for an engineer! Some of the worst, snottiest customer service we have ever experienced. Next time we'll stick with a reputable retailer, AO.com are to be avoided, they do business in a shoddy way devoid of ethics and any form of decent customer service.
