Customer service is non-existent, as it impossible to speak to a human! Having been with them for many years for Home, Motor and Travel insurance, I received a renewal quote for my Home insurance, which saw a huge increase from the previous year despite never having a claim and no change to coverage. I emailed them to say that I wanted to speak to somebody but all I got was an email back saying that they had quoted me their best price (email looked like it was automated). Got an alternative quote from a very well known insurer, offering better cover at half the price. Goodbye Aviva!

Do not insure with this company. i work in the insurance industry. They are very difficult to get hold of. They wrote to me saying that my pension had decreased dramatically even though it was a "final salary" from the 1980s when i complained they admitted the error and sent me £300 compensation. I have no faith in them. I've pulled all of my other insurances away from them. Truly shocking customer service, should not be allowed to have a licence to trade. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Currently in a situation where I decided to cash in an old life assurance policy, was quoted 5-10 working days, and now on day 56 there is STILL no information or payment. They have received all requested documentation (no dispute there), and I have called multiple times, used WhatsApp chat multiple times (until that service stopped working), have written to the CEO's office, but NOTHING AT ALL comes from Aviva - no update, no information, no date to be paid, just total silence. They have my email and phone numbers, but all I have been given each time I have contacted them is excuses and delaying tactics. The customer service staff are polite and helpful but even they can't access any useful information from the 'technical team' who seem spectacularly unable to do their job. Absolutely hopeless customer care and service - avoid at all costs.

Shocking lack of customer care with no proper communication channels. Wanted to know why a home policy increased by 30%. The automated responses both by phone and 'chat' are clearly designed to distance customers and make meaningful dialogue (which they want to avoid) impossible.. Automated Intransigence.

I am appalled at the way car insurance companies in the UK are allowed to get away with the super inflated prices that they are now charging. I am a pensioner, never made a claim in over 40 years, only drive up to 2000 miles per year, but have found that a cost of £208 for last years policy, has now risen to upwards, to and over, £500 It is disgusting that you are not regulated more severely, but then again, the UK government are the most corrupt people in the country, so what can we expect. All of you are just a big bunch of greedy bastards !!!!

This company does not help clients with their problems. They just try to save their employees whether ethically or unethically. If there employees does not behave properly with customer they don't take any actions. Their employees misbehave with me with doing complaint they didn't take any actions. So I request you not to trust this company.

I put in a claim for my expensive, touch screen laptop, that I dropped, resulting in a fault on the screen. Aviva didn't want to payout as it was paid on my business account, but after I persisted they agreed that this had no bearing whatsoever. They offered to buy a new one, but as I didn't want to be without a laptop for weeks, I told them I would be happy having a repair. I was asked to obtain an inspection and a quote, which I did, and was finally informed that I needed to send the laptop to them for another inspection. Despite having saved them £1200 and the claim dropping to under £200 with my excess, they were still wrangling this paltry claim. As this took over a month to get this far, I told them that I would pay for it to be fixed independently and despite being a vary long term customer, the policy will be cancelled on renewal. It seems pretty idiotic to me, but obviously customer care is just not their thing, when ripping their own customers off.

Contacted by Aviva trying to review my decreasing life insurance policy saying due to changes it might not pay out. I'm still paying monthly premiums. I don't believe this so asked them to write to me.

I had an absolutely dreadful experience with Aviva Zero Insurance. They are, without a doubt, the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. My entire ordeal with them was a nightmare from start to finish. First and foremost, trying to get in touch with Aviva Zero is an exercise in futility. They never pick up their phones, and emails go unanswered. It's as if they have zero interest in communicating with their customers. To make matters worse, I had a brand new car that was damaged by another driver, and according to their engineer, it was deemed a write-off. However, when I sought a second opinion from another engineer, I was told that only the front bumper and intercooler needed to be changed. Aviva Zero Insurance, however, refused to budge from their initial assessment, leaving me with only half of what I should have received for the damage to my vehicle. It's clear that this company is more interested in sticking to their own opinions rather than providing fair and reasonable service to their customers. They seem utterly indifferent to the needs and concerns of their policyholders. I would strongly advise anyone considering Aviva Zero Insurance to think twice. If you ever need to make a claim, be prepared for a frustrating and disheartening experience. This company does not care about its customers, and I wouldn't wish their terrible service on anyone. Look elsewhere for insurance coverage—you'll be better off with a company that values its customers and provides honest and responsive service.

Absolutely disgraceful. My parents put monies in a trust 16 years ago. I as a trustee am trying to cash the trust and distribute to the beneficeries. The original bond holder .... my mum.....now 88 is extremely distressed. Provided all documentation. I'd s etc . Aviva just prolonging the process. I'm on my 3rd set of paperwork to them now . I will be withdrawing all remaining monies ASAP. Avoid

You only find out how good your insurance is when you need to claim .Daughter has been involved in non fault Accident where upon her vehicle was finally written off . Aviva took over Then passed the search for a new replacement vehicle to RVG, who despite being given numerous details of dealers who had cars in stock , failed to source the correct model even though they were warned of low stocks . Guess what ? Still no replacement car Aviva want to pay out via another company ! What a surprise eh …. Be warned . (Ongoing)

I have had a very lengthy and unhappy time trying to cash-in an Aviva insurance policy that I have been paying for nearly 25 years (the policy was originally Friends Provident, but taken over by Aviva). Around 2020 a letter was sent to me by Aviva which was, for some reason, returned to Aviva with an "address unknown" notice. I was totally unaware that this had happened. Without any further notification to me, either by phone or e-mail, Aviva then put me on some list, that had me down as a potential scammer. About 3 years later I submitted a Cash-in form and was told I needed to supply additional documentation, including driving licence, passport, bank statements, utility bills, etc. to show my address. This I did, but I was then told they needed to be certified by a solicitor or someone similar. This I did, where possible (they do not certify printout of bills, statements, etc. as there is no original for comparison). Aviva were giving me various excuses why they could not pay from, asking for evidence of change of address (I did not change my address) or "This was caused by a system issue " or asking for documentation that had already been sent. Many weeks and many phone calls followed before finally submitting a official complaint and eventually getting my money about 2 weeks later. During the whole process, they never once explained to me that a letter had been returned to them. All the call-handlers could understand my problem, (proving my ID and address) but the service I got from the so-called security team was absolutely abysmal, bordering on criminal. I will never ever go near Aviva again.

Do not use this company for home insurance. Just tried to make a small claim and the reply was that I’m not covered. So what have I been paying my home insurance for all these years. I have only claimed a couple of time a in 21 years and I’m so incredibly annoyed that they won’t honour their insurance coverage. A new insurance company for me beckons. Never use this company.

Waiting on a payout for a (successful) critical illness claim I submitted in June. It's nearly October. Aviva won't communicate anything in writing. It takes hours on hold to speak to anyone on the phone. They are very efficient at selling their policies and taking your payments. Aviva does everything in its power to avoid paying what they owe.
