AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!!! I cannot believe how unprofessional this company have been throughout. I have since February of this year been trying to access 25% of my pension fund. I have literally jumped through hoops, spent hours and hours on the phone trying to speak to someone. Asked to resend numerous documentation, which has been acknowledged as received only to be asked to resend by another member of staff from this shambolic company. Today 30th September I am once again being asked again for same documentation I’ve sent at least three times, each time I’ve had originals sent back and accompanying letter saying everything has been received in order to process my claim, I’ve still not received a payment although it was promised by a ‘senior supervisor’ to be in my account by start of this week. I literally do not know what to do… Shame on you!!!

I have a pension that has just matured that was in the with profits scheme that was due a 12% bonus on completion around £5000. On maturity I find all of my funds were moved out of with profits by aviva shortly before maturity, hence robbing me of £ 5000. Aviva can do this without telling you under the diguise of life styling where they protect you by moving it and lose you £ 5000. Aviva are scammers on a grand scale beware and move your funds, life styling is worse than PPI and the FSA will get them eventually. TERRIBLE COMPANY FOR EVERYTHING WHETHER INSURANCE OR PENSIONS.

This company is truly awful. AVOID AVOID AVOID if you would like to keep your sanity. Extremely poor customer service. I thought this was a brand you could trust, but i sure got that wrong. In 2022, if a company is still providing such diabolical customer service like this, they actually deserve to go bust. How on earth AVIVA get away with this i will never know. Disgusting!

DO NOT INSURE YOUR VEHICLE OR ANYTHING ELSE WITH AVIVA, if you do and have to make a claim your health and well being will head south after the first 2/3 calls. Two weeks after my accident AVIVA are still unable to provide me with a courtesy car/hire car. I did make a suggestion, to get me mobile, that i would put a vehicle that i have SORNED back on the road. AVIVA agreed to pay for the MOT and road tax and add it to my insurance...yes there is a BUT!! Two hours later they called back to inform me that one of their own advisors had misled me (not for the first time i might add) and they would not be paying for the MOT etc - CLOWNS!! I have been constantly lied to, spoken down to, brushed off every time i call. This company is the most incompetent i have ever encountered and will NEVER use them or any of their offshoots ever, ever, again. To any potential customers - GO ELSEWHERE for your insurance needs as this lot will treat you with utter contempt - you have been warned.

Appalling customer Service from Aviva online on average four days to respond to emails as you cannot speak to anyone. No one puts a name to the any response. My policy lapsed and had to go elsewhere for car insurance as they responded to an enquiry days after end of insurance. Avoid.

Put in claim for car damage - still 0 ( zero) help 2 days later. Not a happy bunny. We are both 70 plus and therefore 0 transport.

Do not place your Buildings Insurance with Aviva - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. ZERO STARS DESERVED. In October 2019 my neighbours flooded my property leaving my bathroom with significant damage and unusable. The handling of my claim from Day 1 by Aviva has been appalling. Firstly they lost my claim and did nothing; in the meantime the ceiling collapsed causing more damage. The Loss Adjustor assigned, and the surveyor they employed, mis-surveyed the property then proceeded to keep me in an unsafe property until I ended up moving myself out due to severe asthma attacks caused by the damp and dust. The treatment by the Loss Adjustor has been disgusting, gaslighting springs to mind, not to mention all of the mistakes they have made and games they have played due to their penny pinching and prime focus to achieve their bonuses. The building company assigned uses cheap materials and labour that can only be described as jack of all trades and cowboys. 15 months on I still do not have a bathroom and it is unsafe. The work that has been done is defective and needs ripping out and starting again and 50% of the works are not complete despite both of Aviva's subcontractors claiming it is. Then there is the damage caused to other rooms in my property by the subcontractors; carpets not covered up and now ruined, items broken, scruffs and dints out of my walls requiring redecoration. There is over £5,000 worth of damage and that's before you calculate the costs of putting the bathroom back to the way it was pre-flood. I have sent Aviva pages and pages of complaints and numerous photos but they still don't believe me and just send me back to their incompetent subcontractors. My complaints are pretty much ignored by Aviva, no apologies, nothing addressed, questions ignored, nothing done to put anything right. E-mails are ignored, call are ignored, voicemails not returned, investigations and responses to formal complaints in my opinion do not meet the guidelines set out by the Financial Ombudsman and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). I sent a separate complaint re the latter and someone from Aviva called and said they agreed with me; then the CEO's office got involved and then suddenly my complaint is once again not acknowledged and nothing is done. There seems to be a tactic of dragging out responses to complaints, it is now 5 months since my original formal written complaint which took Aviva 2 months to provide a formal response to, and then pointing people to the Financial Ombudsman in the hope people will go there and stop contacting Aviva. Great tactic Aviva as you know the wait time is around 4 months and people can't live a normal life in a property without a bathroom. I am now over 12 months living in a property without a safe and fully working bathroom. Nothing has been done in over 9 months. Aviva my contract is with you, you are responsible for the subcontractors so stop hiding behind this and either sort out the issues with alternative subcontractors or pay me a settlement so I can bring my own contractors in to do the work. Do not subject me to another 15 months of hell which has damaged both my mental and physical health. Having read multiple reviews for Aviva I am horrified by how Aviva treat their customers and the impact this is having on people - stress, depression, heart attacks, financial hardship. It is utter hell dealing with this company. I have sent a letter directly to the CEO of Aviva UK and await a response. I will provide updates through this channel on progress, or lack of.

We are 68 years old and had to cancel a planned holiday due to my husband contracting a serious illness a week before departure. We supplied medical details and confirmation from our gp but Aviva rejected our claim. Seems to me that they are more than happy to take your high premiums off you but don't want to pay anything out on legitimate claims. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

Had a complex scenario on Home Insurance. Gave them the details upfront and answered additional questions. They provided a quote that seemed ok and said all I needed to do was phone up, quote the reference and give a start date to activate. I thought I was being pro-active organizing this a month in advance. Don't trust them! When we exchanged contracts I phoned up only to have them say the person that gave me the quote should never have done it as it was against corporate policy to issue such coverage for new clients - existing customers would be covered. Aviva Insurance obviously have some form of internal politics/ one-up-manship going on. I shared that I'm an existing Aviva Pension fund client ... but Aviva Insurance obviously couldn't care less about customers from other divisions. We were buying a home, but having an extension added before moving in. While work was done, we'd be living in an apartment less than a mile away/ visiting the site regularly. I get that this scenario adds risk and that some employees might make mistakes - but if their policy states they can accept the risk for existing customers - I expect that to include any Aviva brand/ division. My whole purpose of contacting Aviva was to consolidate business under one roof to make administration easier and lock in multi product discounts. As it stands, they left me in the lurch and refused to honor their original quote. Their loss - we are relocating from USA, so I'll be buying a new car and looking for car insurance too. They won't get that now ... and I'll be moving my Pension elsewhere. If you don't have a "straight forward insurance" need, or you expect a first class customer experience across all divisions - stay away!

Absolutely disgusting company, telling Trustpilot to remove the negative reviews part of commission collaboration. I placed carbon wing mirrors on my M135i they didn’t repair my car. Due to this factor, I’m quite perplexed on how is this a modification it’s not effective in anyway, likewise a tune. Avoid Aviva & Aviva zero , General accident, Quote me happy. Similar colleagues behind the scenes. When it comes to claims protect companies assets no interest for their clients. Taken them to court as a solicitor I’ve managed to succeed in favour with the judge.

TERRIBLE handling of a motor claim. Sept 2022 car reversed into me, damaged to their car, none to mine. Reported & advised they will handle everything for and get in touch as often it ends a 50:50 claim without witnesses. Reassured that they will contact for more detailed info and progression of claim. If I didn’t hear from them it was likely the other party didn’t make a claim or I’m not ‘at fault’. They would fight my case. ….fast forward April 2024. ZERO calls, emails, letters re above. Random email stating that my NCD is affected and claim was ‘fault’ and this will affect my upcoming renewal. Long call later, seems they closed the case late Dec 2023. 2 letters on system Nov 2023 offering me an opportunity to dispute blame that we not actually sent (their system shows this too!) There was no representation on my part at all, just costs discussed between third party. Livid is an understatement. I’ve been a loyal customer for many years, but this demonstrates how poorly you are treated. Raised as a complaint, but have little faith in their ability and integrity. Stay well away.

DIABOLICAL EXPERIENCE, 6 MONTHS NO REPLY I received a letter to say I had an assurance policy i could cash in. I had forgotten about this Friends Provident policy. At the time I was dealing with my mum’s estate and I mislaid the letter. On 3/10/23 I decided to make an enquiry, wanting to trace this letter so I filled in the online form. i received a reply asking for more information, which I supplied. The email I received assured me that someone would be in touch shortly - silence, I was ignored, no reply. I followed up on 11/11/23 asking for an update - ignored, no reply. I telephoned on 27/11/23, the assistant was very polite and said she would put my information through again and that it would be picked up in 5 weeks and I would hear back in a few days - ignored, no reply. 29/12/23 I filled in a complaints form and it said Aviva would reply in 8 weeks - not a hope in hell - 10 weeks - ignored - no reply. This makes it a total 6 months of being ignored. I feel that I have been discriminated against and the whole diabolical experience has made me ill, it has caused me stress and mental anguish. To put it into context at the same time I cashed in a pension and it took less than 4 weeks from beginning to end - not with Aviva obviously! And I am in the process of selling and buying a property that is taking half the amount of time. This has to be the worst company I have ever had to deal with - and they do not care. they are totally lacking in any empathy

My pension was wrong due to no indexation being applied when taken over from Norwich union in 20029. Two years later, endless calls, emails, additional payments, complaint to the ombudsman and it is still wrong. At the end of every one of the 15 or so calls I have made I have been told "Someone will call you back within 48 hours, this situation will be expedited within ten working days." ( this has not happened once) Even a letter (two months ago) to the CEO Amanda Blanc hasnt resolved the issue despite the reply I received claiming "this will be dealt with as a matter of urgency." They are a bunch of incompetent clowns- avoid at all costs.

I'd give 0 stars but it's not possible. Simply the worst customer service and phone system I've ever done battle with. It consistently fails to hear your answers, even if it's just Yes or No options. And then if it lets you type a number to select an answer, it doesn't 'hear' that either. Pathetic.

Do not insure with this company. i work in the insurance industry. They are very difficult to get hold of. They wrote to me saying that my pension had decreased dramatically even though it was a "final salary" from the 1980s when i complained they admitted the error and sent me £300 compensation. I have no faith in them. I've pulled all of my other insurances away from them. Truly shocking customer service, should not be allowed to have a licence to trade. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I am appalled at the way car insurance companies in the UK are allowed to get away with the super inflated prices that they are now charging. I am a pensioner, never made a claim in over 40 years, only drive up to 2000 miles per year, but have found that a cost of £208 for last years policy, has now risen to upwards, to and over, £500 It is disgusting that you are not regulated more severely, but then again, the UK government are the most corrupt people in the country, so what can we expect. All of you are just a big bunch of greedy bastards !!!!

I put in a claim for my expensive, touch screen laptop, that I dropped, resulting in a fault on the screen. Aviva didn't want to payout as it was paid on my business account, but after I persisted they agreed that this had no bearing whatsoever. They offered to buy a new one, but as I didn't want to be without a laptop for weeks, I told them I would be happy having a repair. I was asked to obtain an inspection and a quote, which I did, and was finally informed that I needed to send the laptop to them for another inspection. Despite having saved them £1200 and the claim dropping to under £200 with my excess, they were still wrangling this paltry claim. As this took over a month to get this far, I told them that I would pay for it to be fixed independently and despite being a vary long term customer, the policy will be cancelled on renewal. It seems pretty idiotic to me, but obviously customer care is just not their thing, when ripping their own customers off.
