People will always have something to complain about however I feel like the girl I had spoken with the other night over the phone done the company justice. She had excellent customer service skills and spent a lot of time to do the right thing for me. It wasn't an easy task as I don't have the easiest group of friends when it comes too decision making but she had all the patience in the world. Well done Jodie devlin, 5stars.

Poor customer service at local and national level and a clear lack of training and expertise at local level. Having used Barrhead Travel in the past, I booked a holiday with them at the beginning of January with a travel date 3 weeks later. I therefore paid in full at the point of booking. As I had not been to the hotel I booked before, I googled it an hour after paying in full. The price had gone down by £50 each in that hour. I called Barrhead but they said it was nothing to do with them and I should raise it with Jet2. I did that and was told I should raise it with my travel agent. While being passed from pillar to post with no one taking responsibility the cost reduced by another £200 each within another 2 hours i.e. my holiday came down by £500 in total in the space of 3 hours! I called Customer Service at Barrhead and was promised the Manager at my local branch (Hanover Street, Edinburgh) would contact Jet2 on my behalf. I never got a call back and resorted to calling the Head of Customer Service at Barrhead. I got the right noises but nothing more other than Jet2 use a live pricing system which means there are winners and losers. I was a loser in this instance! When I collected my tickets I asked in-store about booking seats. I was told they didn't have access to the Jet2 booking system. When I later checked in on-line, the Jet2 system clearly stated that I should contact Barrhead to book seats. By that time it was too late and all seats had been allocated. I did visit another Barrhead shop who confirmed I had been given wrong information. There clearly was a training gap with the sales advisor I dealt with in Hanover Street. As other reviewers have stated, you can have a mixed experience with Barrhead. Things can go well but if they don't, they are not interested in taking any steps to address the situation.

The other day my wife and I popped in to ask about currency, we met a lovely woman called Carole, in thw glasgow store, who not only gave us fantastic advice on what to do when we were on holiday but also went above and beyond to find us the best rate on currency. She is a credit to your company and was a pleasure to do business with. We will definitely be back in the future; due to this experience. Thank you.

Customer service 0 When I returned I lodged a complaint told customer service manager would get in touch. Received email to confirm Several weeks went by nothing. Contacted again told the same nothing Several phone calls and emails later nothing. They just take your money and don't want to know if anything goes wrong

Booked a cruise and asked for a quote for a single cabin. The quote was competitive to Thomas Cook and Thomson's so I just booked it. Weeks later I found out I had a twin cabin and was charged for under occupancy of this twin cabin. I phoned them to enquire about this and was told that at the time of booking no single cabins were available. I was never told this! I explained that a twin cabin was unsuitable as I was involved in a nasty incident in a twin cabin on my last cruise which led me to being off work for 6 months and receiving counselling. They refused to make amends. I couldn't afford to lose almost £400 deposit especially as this wasn't my fault. They refused to budge and did absolutely nothing to help me. I'm dreading this darn cruise and can't stop crying. I will never ever use them again and will do everything in my power to dissuade other people from using them. It was obvious that once they got my money and their commission I was to get to hell! Shameful customer service!

We were not advised of a change of outbound flight carrier causing great stress confusion and delay at glasgow airport. We were at the airport 3 hrs before take off and we made it to the gate with little time to spare. They booked us into colymbus kn apartments playa de las americas teneeife. Apartment was fulthy with cockroaches. The kettle was broke. The bathroom flooded when shower was used. No sanitary bin in bathroom. Towels were threadbare. Tv was metered at 5 eoluros per hr for 5 uk channels.

The team in the Newton Mearns branch were very helpful when I was inquiring and booking a family cruise. Gordon McLaughlin went out of his way to explain every step of the booking, and the back up service was excellent.

We had a fantastic week in Nerha in May this year, thanks to Kirsty Hood, who was dedicated to finding the type of hol we were looking for. Well done Kirsty for going the extra mile to ensure that your customers are satisfied and happy with their choice of holiday. we loved it and look forward to booking with you for next year.

After saving money by for several months my family and I thought we would book a holiday of our dreams at Ayr's Barrhead Travel. When I arrived in the store the staff ignored that i was there being left standing waiting on assistance for 15 minutes. When they finally found time to help me the travel agent staff were rude, dismissive and lacking in customer service. I then decided after 10 minutes in there shop that i was not happy to be booking through this operator and walked out the store telling the staff exactly why they were not getting my custom. When booking a holiday customers should be given excellent customer service as word of mouth can destroy companies.

We booked through the barhead travel shop Paid for every thing getting the tickets was a night mare They arrived with post mark when we were st the airport We had already neen to thd shop and had reluctantly printed some iff then at the airport we got charged £40 for seats shocked was an understatement It wasnt right barhead should have sorted this all out therd was never a mention of another £40 What if we hadnt had that money It was a terrible experince i wont book with thdm ever again

Called to make holiday enquiry and didn't realise their phone line is premium rate. 13 minutes cost me £7:50. Look for the alternative number.

I recently visited Barrhead Travel at Newton Mears with a friend to book a holiday of a lifetime in Singapore, Australia and Dubai next year. My first impression on entering the office was the layout was very open with lots of space and all the staff greeted us with a good morning and a smile. Our holiday booking was dealt with by Lucy Craig who was very friendly and very professional. She took a lot of time to ensure we got the flights and accommodation we wanted. We will be going back to visit Lucy again very soon to book excursions for our holiday. Lucy is doing research into this for us before we go back. When we were booking our holiday there was a steady stream of customers coming into the office and everyone was greeted with a good morning and a smile. I was so impressed with my experience of Barrhead Travel at Newton Mearns that I have recommended them to family and friends. Resulting from my recommendation my daughter and her family have booked a holiday in Florida for next year. Lucy dealt with her holiday as well and made sure they got the holiday they wanted with a little extra as well. Keep up the good work Lucy and colleagues. If I could rate them higher than very good I would.

I booked a very expensive family holiday to Florida through Barrhead travel and the experience has gone from bad to worse. I had to make 6 phone calls to chase a confirmation of my booking 'apparently their email was down for a week!' They never return my phone calls. I was promised a breakfast package option when I arrive at the hotel after to speaking to the hotel they don't offer a breakfast package and to top all the pain so far the hotel (is the US) have informed me that my booked has been cancelled by the travel agent Barrhead! I've made 3 calls today and the agent told me it had been sorted, I have no confidence in Barrhead so I've just called the hotel to check and my reservation is still cancelled on their books. I've been trying to call Barrhead since 8.30 and no one answers the phone it just rings dead. I would not recommend them.

Food poisoning on half board holiday with Barrhead travel. Not covered for it. Campylobacter list stone. Horrendous. Barrhead not interested

Excellent service when we booked, various options discussed and when we selected our venue the booking was quickly processed. We were also able to book seats for outward/inward flights which saved time when checking in.
