Opening deals are alright. The beer isn't very good value for money beyond that though. 35 quid for 10 small cans... More annoyingly though is they have a stupid system where they make it hard for you to cancel membership To cancel, people have to log in, give a reason as to why they want to cancel, then do that again on the next page, then have to confirm they don't want to cancel again, only to eventually be taken to a final page with yet another 'reconsider' prompt where you have to then scroll down the page to the bottom, past yet more offers, to just have a message at the bottom saying 'call us to cancel' - but only during standard working hours I then had to call up wait for 10 minutes and when I got on the phone someone accidentally hung up on me so I had to call up and wait another 10 minutes to get through. They were still trying to get me stay and offering discounts etc even though I made it very clear I wanted to quit. So much faff and making it so hard to cancel A BEER SUBSCRIPTION. Why did it take me 30 minutes? I mistakenly thought I had originally cancelled online as I went through to the website and did the whole clicking through the different pages, saying yes I want to cancel 4 times... Before realizing I just had to call. When I called up to cancel my subscription I did also ask if this could be refund me for my latest payment as it hasn't been shipped yet, but they said no Wouldn't recommend

Good luck navigating their process. Technically disclosed, practically hidden. Sign-up is effortless; escape is deliberately awkward. If a company relies on trickery to keep you subscribed, that tells you everything you need to know. Avoid unless you want a monthly contract and headaches to get out. Untrustworthy, frustrating, and cynical.

Awful. Easily signed up ONLINE for initial offer where you just paid for postage. I even paid for a couple of months. Went to cancel subscription via my online account, there's about 3 stages to go through where they convince you to stay, you get to the end and then it says you haven't to CALL to cancel. I'm currently on hold for the last 5 minutes after already being hung up on once by a phone operator called "Thor". Absolute disgrace that it is so hard to cancel. Completely unethical, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was against UK consumer law. I was actually going to keep my online account with them and perhaps re-subscribe at one point. However, I don't do business with companies that employ such sharp practice.

void this company! They automatically sign you up for a subscription without clearly telling you. Once you realise, it’s almost impossible to cancel or get a refund. I was given what I thought was a free voucher from a business, but it turned out to enroll me in a £27-per-month subscription. When I tried to cancel, the process was frustrating and full of pushy sales tactics trying to convince me to stay.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. Honestly, how does an online company not let you cancel a subscription online? Oh wait, I know – because they’re far too busy trying to shove more sales down your throat. From the moment you land on their site to the endless recorded messages, it’s a masterclass in upselling. Then, after wasting 10 minutes on hold, you finally get through to an agent who – surprise, surprise – STILL tries to flog you more stuff, even after you’ve said you want to cancel. And when you dare to offer feedback? They hang up. Brilliant. Absolutely stellar customer service – if your goal is to make customers furious. I’ll never use this company again, and that ‘reward’ I’ve earned? Wow, what an incentive – I’ll frame it as a reminder of how not to run a business.

I absolutely despise companies that make it difficult to cancel. This is morally bankrupt behaviour. The only way to cancel is on the phone, after waiting on hold for a ridiculous amount of time.

After pausing my subscription for a month, I expected at the very least an email reminder before being charged again. But no, the subscription quietly reactivated, and I was billed without warning. When I reached out on the day the payment was taken to cancel, I was met with a long-winded, patronising response pointing me to the small print of their Terms & Conditions (much like they do in their replies to the 1 star reviews here on Trustpilot) as if that excuses poor communication. To make things worse, Beer52 requires a phone call to cancel your subscription, a deliberately inconvenient and outdated process clearly designed to discourage cancellations. This is not standard practice in 2025 and feels intentionally shady. The tone of the reply I received was defensive and dismissive. No ownership, no apology for the poor customer experience, just a lot of screenshots and red tape.

My underage son was able to create an account and order alcohol from Beer52 without proper age verification, and the courier left the box outside our home without confirming the recipient’s age. I raised this with the company, and while they acknowledged it, they refused to cover return costs or take full responsibility. I have reported this incident to Trading Standards. Disappointing handling of a serious issue.

Avoid. Wine52's courier company Yodel left a parcel on my doorstep while I was at work. When I returned home there was no parcel there presumably because it had been stolen. I reported this to Wine 52 and requested a refund because I did not receive the parcel because it was left in an unsecure location and they refused saying that the parcel was marked as delivered. They even had a photograph of the parcel left on my doorstep but still refused to refund me.

Conned into thinking I was getting a free case due to loyalty to another company. (Postage only) Then found I had been charged £27 and had another case on the way. Can't cancel as it's already been processed. I would urge anyone thinking of doing the same not to bother.

Be careful about the prices as they will suddenly shoot up to £39 from £33! Some of the staff are foreign and don't speak very good English which made my complaint harder to process! I've unsubscribed now as I'm concerned that the foreign lady didn't understand me and although I've now been reimbursed, I'm not convinced that this company won't suddenly hike the prices up again! They have your bank details and just take the amount straight out for another ongoing order! I'm not really happy with this now! I had to chase several times to get my money back!

Very poor cancellation process, and you would think given that they're selling an addictive product they should have a morale obligation to make this easy. Once you finally get through you're faced with numerous questions as to why, with various obstacles and tactics to keep you subscribed.

You can only cancel your subscription by phone, and when you do, you have no proof of cancellation. They do not allow you to cancel via email. As a result, they withdrew money from my bank account and marked it as a pending transaction, but they didn’t send any items. I disputed the transaction with my bank and called the company to request a refund. However, they canceled my points, reactivated my account, and sent the wine to me after a week. These people are fraudulent and unreliable; I recommend avoiding this company
