It wasn't clear that you are required to spend 3 hours online in order to do the final exam. I read the whole booklet and completed the tests and practice exam, only to have to redo the entire course online to write the final test. I think you should indicate in large print that the 3 hours online is mandatory and the workbook is simply for additional study and reference.

It was good for the theory side of things, but Not so much in the actually driving of a boat.

Fast and easy, got my official card in about a week, just before going on a houseboat trip. Only thing I would suggest is that we would be able to see our incorrect answers after taking the exam. I got 94 percent but it would still be good to know what you had wrong, if you don't know you were wrong, you might keep making the same incorrect decision when boating.

its a good course but getting kicked back to the beginning of the module and having it timed again gets to be too much

The Boatsmart Online course only works for one individual at a time. There is no option for people with different passwords to take the test after watching the videos. This is not disclosed up front. When BOATsmart sells "family/friend" passes, it does not disclose that those family/friends cannot watch the instructional videos together, but must do so separately. This is a waste of time. Please disclose this up front, otherwise you will have frustrated customers who paid money for a group discount, who sit down to take the course together, and then find out the program doesn't work that way. It is only user friendly for one user at a time.

Hi Jeremy - thanks for the feedback. The instructions detail the next steps in the process for family members, but we'll try and do a better job of highlighting that for customers such as yourself. Each person is required to complete their own modules and pass their own quizzes before accessing their own exam - to prove their own competency and receive their own PCOC.

The source was informative and interesting, but I didn't like having to go back and retaking the lesson again after I failed to get a passing grade. I should have be told the answers I got wrong as well.

Always good to know this stuff but have never fished on a ocean and a lot of questions are about that...So good...Knowledge is always good...

I wish you could re do your quizzes if you fail instead of watching all the videos all over

Wished it was broken down in sections (e.g. pleasure craft, large vessel, etc...) I will never likely captain a ship so I found some of the sections unnecessary for my purpose.

My son and I bought and read the Boat Smart book thinking that we could write the exam online, but then found out that we had to go through all of the modules prior to writing the exam. We would suggest that you tell the folks who sell the books to remind people about this. Otherwise the course content was excellent and the online modules are very well done. Great job!

Very thorough and informative. The only problem was some of the videos would replay several times before the set time expired and you could continue to the next slide.

It was very good except I didn't like having to re-do some of the whole units, maybe just make it an option to re-do the whole thing.

Found that the quizzes asked questions before they were covered sometimes. Having to get 80% or redo the module when you haven't covered the material yet doesn't make much sense. Course was very informative, but did not cover everything for final test.

It was very educational, but also very time consuming.

It is a lengthy process, and would be nice if you could forward to next area after reading the material instead of having to wait for video to finish. That being said, I understand why you cannot. Overall well done

Despite being long to complete, a great deal of information was covered. Having to complete each slide and then each module is definitely the best was to ensure each licensed individual has been presented and instructed on ALL of the information they need to safely boat.
