“Hi folks. It took a while but we finally got it done. Lol This has been an excellent experience for me, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is thinking about getting their boat operators certificate. Things have changed so much since I used to rent motor boats out at Sauble Beach when I was a kid. Back then, there wasn't any need for a boat license, or a fishing license either. This course has shown me that there is so much to know toward being a safe boater, and that is exactly what I want to be. It has really opened my eyes to what is, and should be required to be a responsible boat operator. If it wasn't for my 10 year old grandson Landon saying that we would not be professional fishermen until we were out on the water ... this might have never happened. I am now looking forward to enjoying some time with him out on the 'deep blue' next week while on holidays. I am proud of myself for completing this course, and would sincerely like to thank you all for this experience, and for all of your assistance throughout. Fish On ... Tight Lines ... and all of that other fishing jargon. Thank you.”

“it was straightforward for most of the lessons, but some of the quiz questions related to material provided in lessons not covered. It was very, very dry.”

“It provided the information needed to get the Exam completed I didn't like the timer - I read faster then the person reading the text and the videos looped over and over again if you watched them I would have preferred to read the text and click on Next when I finished”

“The course gave great info in video and written form, so it's great for different types of learners. The quizzes had appropriate questions to prepare us for the exam. I did not like the timer per section because some videos would have enough time to play twice before you were aloud to move forward. I don't mind that there was a timer but more appropriate lengths would have been better. I passed the test on the first try and BoatSmart helped me achieve that.”

“The course was very thorough. I understand that they have to cover all the bases, however if you boat on an individual inland lake, it is perplexing to understand all of the buoys and navigation, when your lake has no buoys at all. It would be nice if when you have finished a lesson in a course module, if it would let you go on to the next lesson, without having to wait for a timer to count down.”

“I like that there is an option to watch but also to read at my own pace - in the time allowed I could thoroughly read and review the video to make sure i understood. I did notice that there were several spelling errors which did detract from the meaning of the information. I think it would be very helpful to correct this.”

“Modules are uniquely designed to allow for a video lesson and or read the lesson. Time is assigned to each section within the module to be certain adequate time is taken to learn about the subject matter. You must pass each module in succession to advance to the next module. I found there was enough repetition through the modules to pick up the really critical boating knowledge . The section on buoys and signage would be a good section to copy for a second review. The modules prepare you well for the certification test.”

“I was happy that the YouTube video helps with actually seeing the situations and scenario are working together to give a better aspect of what may happen. The one thing I didn't like was waiting for the timer to count down before able to switch to the next lesson. I am a quick reader. But over all it was very awesome to finally have a boaters”
