“Far too detailed for the basic boater. It prevents some from even attempting it, especially those with a dingy and a little electric motor that also have to have a boater's license. A suggestion would be to have "the basic know how" for every boater (eg port/starboard/green light/red light/ red buoy on right/ green buoy on left) collected together in one module. All your other modules could expand on the "skeleton basics". That way a person could concentrate completely on what applies individually to their own immediate particular circumstances and then expand to know what is expected for those with bigger boats, etc. Also the time mandated thing doesn't always coincide with the timing of the voice. The vocal is finished but the timer isn't and vise versa. Some screens would not display either. Thank you though : )”

“I appreciated being able to do a self study approach. I found the time based approach of the modules frustrating, and the loading time, made each section sometimes take up to twice as long. So it took longer than I would have liked to spend. It would be nice for the quizzes to see your results as a learning tool”

“I was happy when I finished it. Allow yourself a minimum of 4 loooooong hours to get through what should be an hour long course. 90% of what you're forced to study will NOT be on the government exam and is basic common sense.”

“Everything EXCEPT the module's. I DO NOT think there should be a count down that is required to wait for until you can advance to the next lesson. Is it punishment for people that can read fast? Very silly in my opinion”

“I liked the convenience of being able to do it on my own time, with 3 kids I can't sit at home for more than half an hour without the kids needing something. I was able to spread it out and got it done in about 4 hours. Lots of information but it prepared me for the exam and it was perfect”

“Price is reasonable, content is well organized and designed for adult learners. Note some of your youtube video links are broken in the later sections - I think about 5 were not referencing active content. I just played the audio and read the text but some might be confused or upset. I think the buoys content could be better - it can be confusing and technical sounding at times, especially the cardinal system. In other areas of content scenarios are used to firm understanding, in this area it is should be used more. It seems the later content ran out of budget, with broken links, not as clear design, and - get this - the voiceover editing gets bad as well. There are parts where the actor is clearing his throat at the end of the script. Why not just edit this better, it would be a cheap and cheerful improvement. Otherwise, the material was good. One thing that would help more than % complete meter is time to complete in hours/minutes so that users can plan their time. Even if approximates, it would be helpful to know that 'Module 6 takes on average 45 minutes'. thanks”
