“Ive given it 5 stars but its not that it made me happy. I have boated (small fishing boats 5-100hp) since the 1960's. I always thought the new boat licence was a tax grab and refused to get one. I didn't learn anything new, although it has taken me many years to learn all of these things. I gave it the 5 stars because I feel that it is a good start to know these basic laws and regulations before you start boating. It is long and tedious....plus our internet server went down twice during the final exam which was extremely frustrating, but in the end it is worth it.”

“It was a very thorough course, HOWEVER how does one learn when the Module test gives you a mark, but does not tell you which questions you got wrong & include the incorrect answer. This truly does not make sense to me.”

“It's about time boat smart made it so you actually have to go through modules personally , too many people out there that had the test taken for them and have no idea what the rules of boating are.”

“It was easy to use; however, the modules should be playable as a whole instead of in 32 or 40 etc. pieces. That was the only frustrating part. I would have preferred to upload a whole module and watch it.”

“I think it is a well-designed user friendly approach. It required my attention - and actually ensured I understood and absorbed the information. While it was lengthy to complete the modules, and complete and pass the sample tests, I felt I was very prepared for the final test and felt confident completing the course. I know feel much more prepared and confident to go out on the water. Worth the time.”

“Very thorough gives you a better knowledge of boating rules. Even though people told me it would take 5-6 hrs I was not prepared for the length. I was comparing it to friends who years ago did it in front of stores like Canadian Tire. THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT get such an informative course of study and the LAWS that apply for not following the rules.”
