“was being asked questions on material that had not yet been covered Course contains too much "fluff" (useless information) that does not pertain to the safe and knowledgeable boating. This course could easily be condensed and formatted to be more effective. I would NOT recommend this course to anyone”

“The course material, flow and managed time per slide is well designed. The dashboard is intuitive and clean with zero clutter. The status update emails and positive messaging included in the provided updates adds to the excitement of what lies add ones the PCOC is obtained. I was very pleased with all aspects of the course.”

“Spelling errors, timing of video and next page didn't always match up, duplication of information in some modules made this a little distracting at times. Overall the information was of interest and having the option of the video and reading the information was of assistance.”

“The content in the latter 3 modules was very good; the first 4 modules were quite basic. The quiz format was very helpful as was the option to play a video or just read the text. The forced time minimums to read the text were ridiculously long for people with normal reading abilities - there's no need to put restrictive timing into the program. It took a VERY long time to get through the 7 modules and for many people the information was very well-known. There should be the ability to self-tutor the relevant modules only. My major objection is that my son and I did the course together and only one exam could be written at the end. He knows all of the content and is being forced to go back through the 7 modules again (hours of time) in order to write the exam online. This is ridiculous.”

“Annoyed. Purchased a $16 study manual, and when I went to write the test, I discovered it would take a minimum of 3 (closer to 6) hours to complete- forced to study the same material that I already read”

“I have to say I am pretty impressed. The course was great. Information was well presented. I ran out of time last summer and I didn't Finnish. The progress was saved and I was able to complete this summer. Highly recommend BOATsmart!!!!”

“I'm very happy that I was required to take this course. I would not have taken it on my own but now having had the opportunity to learn the importance of water rules, I am very happy and thankful that this is set up to help people who want to get out onto the water.”

“I was very frustrated that you don't get to know which answers you got wrong on the quizzes. Other similar courses for the boating exam did not do this. It makes it very hard to study.”
