“I am grateful to be able to initiate working on my mental health from the convenience from home. However, I’m not sure it is worth $95 a month. I have had one video call (~10 minutes) and one text from my doctor checking in. I feel like it is an adequate amount of doc time, because I don’t need more. I just don’t know if it is worth $95 a month for a text message.”
“It's lovely to be able to get my medicine without having to physically visit a doctor every 3 months. I've been on the same meds for years, I know they work, and Brightside's questionnaires and graphs help me know when and if I need to seek out more intensive therapies. Teleconferences with my doctor are especially valuable during this pandemic.”
“Brightside has been pretty easy to use and my doctor is great. Super responsive and a good listener. I’m not a huge fan of scales rating systems, so the check ins can be hard for me, especially because the pandemic has really messed with my sense of time (how long was 2 weeks ago anyway?). Also, it took way too long for my first round of meds to ship. It was supposed to be 3-4 days, but it was at least 10 before it even left the facility. Now that I’ve got them things are great, but that was a rough start.”
“Brightside has been an incredible help to me, especially during the pandemic. Its weekly check-ins force me to evaluate myself and my progress far more often than when I was interacting with a psychiatrist once a month and struggled to remember what my experiences were.
My only suggestion is to have one more metric in its weekly evaluations, like 'occasionally' between the options of 'several days' and 'not at all.' There are times when I have felt a certain way (e.g., incredibly anxious, having trouble sleeping) but only for a brief time, and I want to communicate the significance of that feeling. However, because it has only happened once or twice, I don't feel that describing the issue as lasting several days is appropriate.”
“Brightside has been extremely helpful and is very user friendly. I love the weekly check-ins and self therapy options. Brightside holds me accountable for my mental health while being my biggest supporter along the way!”
“The medication side is great and has been helping a lot.
The therapy side has been unhelpful. I thought I would get to video chat with my therapist, but so far it has only been text only.
I would like to downgrade my plan to medication only.”
“I already had therapy, but was hitting so many lows in my depression she suggested I find help reviewing my medication. I put it off until self isolation, then it was a lot harder to find anyone in my area. I tried brightside after seeing an ad and it has changed my life. My doctor has been there every step, ready to talk or suggest changes. Already my symptoms have gone from 12 to 6. I recommend it to all my friends.”
“Brightside helped me get over the hump of *thinking* about trying medication to help my depression, to actually trying it. It's made a big difference over the past three months, and I wish I had started it 20 years ago!”
“Quick, efficient access to professional relatable doctor who is extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful with easy follow ups and lessons. Easy to see small improvements.”
“Brightside makes mental health services very accessible. I love the tools used to keep track of progress and how easy it is to connect and check-in with provider.”
“There are improvements to be made with your questions - too black and white, not enough options so you feel dishonest with any answer. Also, to very distinctly identify if question is anxiety or depression. I have received questionnaires that were why too general and I did not know how to answer. That, i think, could end up being one of the biggest detriments re: competition”
