“Long detailed review but headline: AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I placed an order 11/7/25 for a sink, extraction hood and tap for my new kitchen which was due for completion 18/8/25. The original sink I wanted was out of stock so chose an alternative and delivery was showing 23/7/25. That date came and went and I logged into my account new delivery date showing 2/8/25 without any communication of the delay. I phoned for some information, was told the delay was out of their control but due to me on the 2nd Aug and the other items could not be dispatched separately.
The order was delayed again and again when I finally decided to cancel the sink and buy a more expensive one else where. Contacted Buyitdirect to cancel the sink and refund my money. My kitchen worktops couldn’t be measured without the sink. Hense me changing my mind to a sink that “was in stock”. Was told then the sink was in stock but I had already purchased elsewhere so proceeded with the cancellation. I was then informed on the 6/8/2024 that the extraction fan was held at a different warehouse and would take a few days to gather my order, this is now a full month after me ordering and paying over €600 for these items. It then took until the 12/8/25 for the order to be dispatched and the 19/8/25 for delivery.
Order arrived yesterday and the tap I ordered has been sent in the wrong colour. After 40 mins on the phone I now have to wait for them to collect the incorrect tap, receive it back, inspect it and only then will they send me the item I ordered on the 11/7/25. I have never experienced such incompetence with an online retailer in my life. I will never use them again.”
“I bought the Ninja Artisan pizza oven along with “stand and cover”. Price was very good, and for a UK company delivering to Ireland, the delivery was excellent. Unfortunately, the “cover” they provided was for a completely different model and was half the size of my oven. When I complained, they first offered an insulting £5 refund/voucher, then after further argument on my part they said my “ refund of €20.79 has been processed”. The cost price of the item is twice that if purchased outside of the bundle, and several other vendors offered the bundle. I have been deceived into purchasing two thirds of a product and left out of pocket as a result.”
“Ordered an armchair and it never arrived. Contacted their Customer Support. Was firstly told that I should give them 5 days to investigate with the delivery company. 5 days later, I reach back out - they tell me wait another 48 hours as the delivery company did not reply. They’re now unresponsive, I have no armchair and they will not issue me a refund. This is not a small parcel, and not something I could have easily missed! Terrible support - I am out €600! Do not order from this company - serious scam and will be bringing this further. Paid almost €100 for delivery, honestly cannot believe this company”
“Stay well away from this company they are absolutely shocking. I ordered a hot tub 2 weeks ago which was due for delivery mid July. The order progress hadn't changed online so I got in touch on the phone. I got through to an off shore call centre that was absolutely useless. She told me the hot tub isn't in stock and they havnt a clue when it will be. If I hadn't of rang to enquire they were not going to contact me. If I check the website right now it's still saying in stock delivery in 4 weeks. They are a shocking company to deal with. Do not waste your money.”
“We purchased the single Jaycee bunk beds and a wardrobe. Our order was nearly €1000 so I thought it cheeky that they charged €100 for delivery.
The delivery took approx 5 weeks
The bunk beds were not labelled, not aligned and we had to drill our own holes to make things fit , instructions said 1hr for 2 people, it took us 3 days !! Sturdy once we put them together !
I don’t think I’d order from them again, it’s hard to trust the quality. For full transparency !! I did complain and received a satisfactory resolution.”

“I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The item I received arrived with a fault, and I was informed that it would take 10 business days to arrange a return pickup. After waiting 12 business days, I was told that no return had even been registered and that I would need to wait another 10 business days for the pickup to be scheduled. Now, after 6 of those 10 days passed, I was told that a pickup was "attempted," but they went to the wrong address. It's been over a month since the original issue, and I still have no pickup date in sight. To make matters worse, the helpline has been completely unhelpful throughout the entire process. I'm beyond frustrated and would not recommend this service to anyone.”

“I needed a small spare part for my BBQ, but after being dismissed by Appliances Direct, I wasn't able to purchase it. As a result, my two-year-old BBQ is now useless and will have to be scrapped.
When I escalated the issue, I was warned that taking the matter to a small claims court could take up to two years. I found this a strange and discouraging way to start a conversation.
All in all, this has been a disappointing purchase. I will be buying from John Lewis next time.”
“Terrible service. Bought and paid for a table with a delivery fee of 80 euro, it was delayed well past the estimated delivery date. When I contacted Buyitdirect they claimed that I had received the table and sent me 'evidence' which was a photograph of a box which was taken in somebody else's house and was not the correct item (it was a chest of drawers rather than a kitchen table). After a series of emails they agreed to send a replacement table and it delivered late several weeks later out of the blue. A few days later delivery company then attempted to deliver another kitchen table which I declined. Buyitdirect then repeatedly sent me emails and calls saying I had recieved 2 tables and that I had to pay for the second one or return it. When I obviously declined to pay for the second table that I had never received buyitdirect threatened to bring me to court to recover the cost of the table plus legal fees! Absolutely unbelievably bad way to treat a customer. Avoid this company like the plague. I will be shopping locally in the future”
“Worst service ever! We bought a dehumiditifier and it came broken. We requested a replacement and they did not have any other unit. Then, we requested a refund and they did not refund the whole amount of the transaction, they kept the delivery fee. What a joke to be honest.”

Bought a refurbished dishwasher which never worked at all. Took 4 weeks, multiple emails, phone calls and eventually got a refund, then to get the broken machine collected....
