“Bought a D5Mkiii. Staff knew I was a pro photographer and surprised they didn't give more advice ref. what operating system would be needed to read the raw files etc.etc. not too impressed.”

“Very pleased with prompt delivery of the Epson V750 Pro Scanner. Well packaged. Had to phone the Manchester Branch for a bit of Technical advise, which was provided promptly, clearly and in a friendly manner i.e. didn't make me feel like a prat, and which helped greatly.”

“I like to use Calumet as you are a professional suppler. From an educational point where management's decision is normally lead by price alone; generally they go for the cheapest option which is not necessarily the best. Coming from a professional background I do not mind spending slightly more for the products when you have good customer support and back up. Knowing there is a structure in place to deliver products or services within a couple of hours if necessary is reassuring and the fact that orders can be made over the phone with out time wasting paperwork.”

“This was my first visit to Calumet, Manchester. The assistant was excellent, showing me the range of products I was interested in buying, explaining the differences, making it easier for me to decide. I came out with exactly what I wanted, plus literature on a couple of items I thought I might need in the future. Highly recommended.”

“Regarding your show room in Belfast, the way you sell your studio accessories suck. Sorry to be so blunt, you can't really sell in boxes. It dosen't matter with me, I know what I am looking for most of the time. I have to open sealed box after box to see the goods/products, most of the time, I end up buying! Because I have known the staff for years and years I feel comfortable doing this. I can't see the occasional customer doing this. Hope this helps.”

“Service was helpful, informative and courteous from first contact to collection of purchase. A true example of "traditional personal" service. Each and every member of staff I spoke with was pragmatic and well informed about all photographic matters discussed. A real pleasure to buy from Calumet and, yes, I will buy again AND do recommend to my friends and acquaintances. My experience was with the Edinburgh ( Leith ) Branch.”

“I have been a Calumet customer since the 60s although the names slightly changed in that period of time! Quality photographic equipment dont come cheap so I always choose to shop at Calumet the staff are always helpfull and will always give when asked their opinion on the photo equipment that I am about to buy, although now very much a senior retired person I still dont hesitate to go to Calumet when I am ready for my next purchase!”

“Took camera in for repair in December (camera had to be sent to Canon); after a whole month had heard nothing, so phoned. It turned out that it was "in the book" awaiting my authorisation to go ahead; no explanation why nobody had contacted me. I gave the go-ahead and within 24 hours was phoned to say it was ready, implying that it must have been fixed already before I was asked for authorisation. Drove there a couple of days later to collect it and found that the place was tight shut in the middle of the day, despite the opening hours on the door showing this was within the normal trading hours. As it is an 18 mile round trip to go there I was not impressed at all. However as I was turning to leave I saw someone in the back of the shop an he came and opened up with some feeble excuse about only having two staff - you might think they could stagger their lunch breaks to keep the place open. While there also enquired about studio backdrop material, but he was unhelpful - so when I do find out what I need by other means I shall order from elsewhere on the internet.”
