“I had not used Calumet before and popped in for a look at potential DSLR upgrades from my rather dated EOS 400D. I found the staff to be particularly helpful and we spent some time discussing my options. I was given some excellent research material and went home to clarify my own thinking as to the best way to proceed. On returning to the shop I spoke with Alex again to help narrow down my choice. With his help and considerable guidance I selected the camera best suited to my needs. It was the one down the range from my initial choice but it ticked all the right boxes and was £1000 cheaper! What I saved there allowed my to buy a top lens and I left the shop in a happy frame. I have since been back again and purchased two further items to update my kit. It is important for customers to feel that they are being given excellent advice and guided to the product that suits them best, rather than sold a camera with features they are unlikely to use, usually at considerably more expense. Overall my experience with Calumet was a memorable one and I really did appreciate the expert guidance I received. I'll be back.”

“Confused starting times. No response from Calumet when emailed to confirm times. Had to visit Edinburgh office to confirm. Some people arrived an hour early and had, therefore to leave an hour earlier. Poor lighting. Had to ask to have the room lights put on [consensus of the course attendees] as couldn't see my camera to make adjustments as requested by course tutor. Requested a hand out or copy of presentation as aid memoir. Not received as yet. At least those attendees who had memory sticks got the hand out. I did not pay for this course as it was a gift. I therefore don't know the cost to my benefactor. However, had I paid I would not be happy. I found the delivery disjointed, and because of the lighting issues I couldn't always take advantage of the presented information. I came away getting the impression this was an opportunity to flog Calumet products with a " % off for today only" promotion. Based on my experience I shall not be recommending your products to others. Lost opportunity Calumet!”

“Product was great but ordered on Wednesday evening and paid for next day delivery before 12 expecting this to arrive on Friday. At 1pm with no delivery I called customer services to be told it had been put on back order without me being notified.”

“On the whole I was very pleased with the service. My order arrived on time and very efficiently. Even though there was a broken bulb wih the equipment when it arrived, it was replaced with the minimum of fuss within 48 hours. But I would say that at the original point of sale I noticed what I think I would call low morale. It wasn't a happy, 'can do' transaction. I seemed to know more about the sale conditions than your member of staff - principally from what I heard on your recorded message while I was on hold..! If it was my office I would be looking at inspiring my team and cheering everyone up a bit. Thank you for my new studio lights though - they're great. Best Annabel”

“Euston Branch, London: I used to come here way back in the day when it was Pelling and Cross, then KJP. Calumet is building on those traditions to offer solid advice and quality equipment at competitive prices. In an industry increasingly dominated by poor quality goods online, it's relieving to find a camera shop that is not only savvy with everything new in photography, but still has time to offer traditional camera shop virtues: Good service, sound advice, quality products.”
