“The requirements for the perfect car were rear wheel drive, manual, and decent engine. I found this package in an Infiniti g35 coup. I was ready after a long search to pull the trigger because it looked immaculate inside and out. A last minute check of carfax revealed it had been declared a total loss and had a salvage title. I inquired as to the discovery and never heard back. Saved me a fortune!”

“I listed my car for sale, it went unsold for 1 month , but as soon as I bought and downloaded the carfax report not only did I sell the Tahoe, got more than book value for it, that does not happen if I dont get the report from carfax.”

“I WAS LOOKING FOR A CAR , THAT WAS AFFORDABLE, MY SON WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. AND WANT OFF THE FWY. DUE TO OTHER CAR DRIVER ..SO I NEED TO CHECK ALL OPPORTUNITY. TO LOOK . I HEARD OF CARFAX... “My old 1999 car died on the highway and I needed a replacement fast. Hopefully the same model if I could find one. I searched on Craigslist and saw several but nothing worth following, On the third day a gem popped up, but it really seemed to good to be true. A 2001, exactly the same model and only 19500 miles with a price of $2000. The VIN was listed so I signed up for CARFAX and ran the number. It checked perfectly so I dashed over to the location and bought the car after a quick drive around the block. The little old lady selling the car was glad to get rid of it and I've been smiling ever since. It is a gem and friends and family are asking if I can do the same for them. Maybe, but only if CARFAX says it's OK.”

“I had a choice of two cars on Craigslist, both 97 Corollas. One was recently posted, the other was already on Craiglist for a month. The cheaper one (ironically) showed a record of maintenance for the entire life of the car on the Carfax report. The other one (more expensive but in better condition body-wise and lower mileage) showed no maintenance at all. None. I went with the cheaper one despite the body appearance and higher miles. The other car is still for sale after over six weeks on Craigslist. Even more expensive Corollas are selling but not that one. It must have some other issues. Thanks Carfax for the decision assist.”

“Was looking to buy a car for the first time in 13 years! Was in the market for a used car but didn't know who to trust. Well I knew I could trust CarFax. After all I wasn't buying the car from them and they are well respected and independent. I narrowed my search and eliminated several cars using CarFax Almost bought a car from someone who showed me a CarFax competitor fact sheet. When I checked it against the CarFax information I realized he was not being truthful. I finally bought my 2006 Toyota Avalon from a company who advertised CarFax and I am completely satisfied!!”

“I had leased 3 cars and had averaged 15k miles a car so after 9 years and 45k miles I realized a good used car was the smartest way to go. After using carfax on 3 jeep compass' I decided on an 2011 because the records were very well kept and had no issues. I probably saved myself over $7,000 by buying used and using carfax since I don't put any miles on my car.”

“I was looking to purchase a newer car off Kijiji and found 2 that i was very interested in. The price on both was about 2000.00 less than what dealers wanted for the same vehicle on the lots so i figured just to be safe i would run a carfax on both. One turned up as a total write off rebuild but was not listed as such and i contacted Kijiji and they had the add pulled and the seller relisted it as a write off rebuild when he relisted it so i saved someone else from getting a dud. The second one came up A-ok and i purchased it and have put 60,000 kms on it with only doing minor maintenance. Good thing i used carfax and I have advised every one that asked me about purchasing a used vehicle to do the same and have had many thank you's because of that advice.”

“Obviously you will check CARFAX for every automobile that you look at, but CARFAX has other awesome features. One of these has a list of cars that have already been ran through CARFAX's check lists and this is how I purchased my car, without regret. I would clearly recommend it to anybody, it's definitely the best guide or gauge for car buyers.”

“First, Carfax is not reliable at all. A lot of issues won't be reflected on it. Second, Carfax is way overpriced. I purchased a so-called unlimited package, and it only included 5 reports with VIN and it expired in a month! It was so ironic that how can something unlimited expire?”

“I've purchased 3 used cars over the last 5 years and CARFAX proved to be a critical component to my search. On three separate occasions, I found the vehicles that looked great, drive great. However, after running the CARFAX reports, vehicle histories showed failed smog emission test, an accident, and a repo / too many owners. CARFAX even utilized the vehicle history to estimate how much the vehicle is worth relative to similar vehicles. I would never purchase another used vehicle without a CARFAX report!”

“I love having my Carfax! Prior to having it, I bought two vehicles from trusted people that had underlying issues. It wasn't until I had to pay out lots that I finally got Carfax and decided started shopping again. I went through about five cars, finding ones I really liked only to have them show a bad history. Finally bought a Toyota and had no problems since. This is probably one of the best services I've ever purchased!”
