“I checked carfax on a used Civic and didn't see anything too alarming. Bought the car, took it to the shop... turns out it had a completely different engine in the car! 2004 engine in a 2002 body.”

“I was all set to buy a 2010 Honda Accord, the miles on the odometer seemed low, too low to be honest. Long story short, the miles on the car were not correct and using car fax I was able to get the correct amount of miles the car had as last serviced. Thanks Car Fax, saved me from a lemon!”

“I was purchasing a modded 02 ws6 trans am was concerned about what has been done to the moter and if it was drag raced. Bought carfax and called the dealers the car was taken too and found the owner who modded the car and found out everything that has been done to the car and found out it had nos ran threw it. Purchased the car only because the owner prior to the owner I bought it from had lots of knowledge on what the car has been through best car I've owned!”

“I attempted to purchase two different vehicles. However, when I checked the VIN on the first one I found the mileage to be off by over 75,000 miles! The second vehicle I was told was a two owner car that had no major damage in the past. When I checked the VIN it showed up with 10 owners and a salvage title. CARFAX saved me from making a BIG mistake....TWICE. Thanks CARFAX. In the end the car I did by checked out with a clean report.”

“I was rearended in my favorite car on a Friday. It was totaled out on Monday and the rental was mine on Tuesday. I ordered two 5 report deals from carfax. I thought two of the cars I saw on carfax were great. I got there and thanks to carfax mileage info, I was able to question the dealer as to why there was 40k difference on EACH vehicles mileage from just a few months ago. Needless to say, I didn't buy those. One vehicle had a clean carfax, high mileage but thanks to the report, I could tell that it was dealer maintained and in great working order. I test drove the truck, and that's the one I bought. I even used one of my other remaining reports for a friend. He found out that the guy "selling" the car was not only NOT the owner, but there was a major wreck that he didn't disclose. Thank you carfax!”

“I was abroad when I paid for a CARFAX report on a vehicle I bought and was not able to view it until sometime later when I returned to the computer world only to find that it had already been deleted by them. I should have donated these funds to charity. It would have been better spent.”

“I have not found a vehicle yet, but thanks to CARFAX I have not bought the wrong vehicle. I have checked several cars and found they had been involved in accidents(one had been totaled) and another at a dealership who gave me the VIN and when I pulled CARFAX it showed an accident(salesman had said they had CARFAX and no accidents). When I asked the salesman for additional details he said no accidents and I must have used wrong VIN. Needless to say, I did not buy vehicle. I am still looking and hope to find a vehicle soon.”

“I purchased my vehicle from the PPA auction. While at the auction but before it started I was able to get on my phone and check out the vehicle history by vin. I loved the detailed information found about the upkeep and the prior ownership. I bid on the vehicle and won!!! The miles were on point and the vehicle runs great (with minor need such as an oil change was needed) and is up to my standard. I received a great deal with the confirmation from CARFAX about its history.”
