“I was looking to buy a Mazda Mpv. The van looked in great condition. But I asked the dealer for the car fax and the only thing he could say to me was that the title is clean. So I got the car fax myself and found out that the mini van was salvaged 2 times!!! After that I knew for sure I didn't want it! Thanks to the car fax I saved myself thousands!”

“I had been looking for a used car for about two months. I decided to use CARFAX when I narrowed down my choices, and I am really glad that I did. A seller advertised his car as being a certain year with a clean title. I ran a CARFAX on the VIN, and the title ended up being "salvage" and the car was a different year than advertised. I found out that the airbags had deployed and everything. We had test driven the car and it looked nice, but we did not want to have to deal with a salvage title, and we did not know exactly what had happened to the car that the seller wasn't telling us. We ended up finding a car that fit us perfectly and had a clean title and CARFAX with no accidents. CARFAX helped me to make a better-informed decision about each car I was seriously considering, and in the end we made the perfect choice for us. Thank you!”

“I'm the worst car shopper; I can ALWAYS find a reason not to buy the car! We finally found a 2007 Elantra that, on careful inspection, I couldn't find a good reason to walk away from; when CARFAX couldn't either, my daughter had a new ride!”

“My son and I drove an hour to see a Ford Escape he had found online that was a 2007 with supposedly 77,000 miles in it. We test drove the car and my son was ready to buy the car but I thought the car looked pretty rough for a car with those miles. After talking with my son we decided to run a car fax report and asked the owner if we could take a picture of the vin # so should could run a Carfax report. He said "sure,I guess so." So we went back to our car and using the ipad, signed up for the unlimited carfax account and ran it. It turned out that the car had mileage of at least 177,000 miles. There were several mileage readings that were well above what the odometer reading showed. The seller shortly knocked on the window to inquire what we found. We showed him the report and he claimed that was news to him. I have no idea if he really knew the mileage but I do know that Carfax saved my son from a costly mistake. Mike in Illinois”

“I really like the new feature of showing what other similar cars available for sale in the bottom and you can setup the email alert for new listings when you run the VIN. I found my 2002 Mercedes S430 by accident this way.”

“looking for a first car for my daughter CARFAX was awesome. not only did it stop me from buying a car with a clean title that was in not one but two crashes. CARFAX also shows the service records on cars with phone numbers. the vehicle i ended up purchasing showed the water pump was replaced. with the dealer and phone #. so it was simple to give them a call with vin # and they looked up the car. it showed the vehicle was in for regular oil change and they spotted a leek and changed the water pump. it put my mined at ease to know the car was not overheated.CARFAX ROCKS. i would not buy a used car without it...”

“Without Carfax I'm not sure I could of purchased a used vehicle and felt confident that my purchase was an informed one. My time is valuable and I wanted to make sure I had good information about a vehicle before contacting the seller. Using Craigslist, I saw many vehicles that, from their pictures, looked like a contender. After generating the Carfax report, red flags that eliminated a vehicle from our search appeared. The red flags were due to odometer discrepancies, undisclosed salvaged titles, originated out of state, structural damage, and cars that still had liens against them, I generated about 35 Carfax reports before finding the right car to pursue and buy. I highly recommend everyone to use Carfax as a resource to help their vehicle search. You'll feel better making an informed purchase. I know I did.”

“I found a truck on Ebay that the seller claimed was a returned stolen truck. When I checked CARFAX, I found out the truck had been totaled out in a crash. When I told the seller what I foun d out on CARFAX, he never communicated with me about the truck again, and took it off the Ebay market.”

“We found a nice Toyota Camry in a parking lot sale but the fellow was "selling it for someone else" so he had limited information on the car. My 16 year old daughter suggested that use CARFAX to check it out. She jumped on her smart phone, opened an account, entered the VIN number and we had the cars history in less then 5 minutes! With that information we discovered a "few" issues and were able to negotiate a $1000.00 savings! Thank you CARFAX!”

“I'm glad I got a carfox for a BMW I was looking at. Even though it looked nigh perfect and 100% functioning, the car fox said otherwise and probably saved me a good number of trips to the mechanic because of it. The best ~$40 I spent :)”

“I am in the market for a used pickup truck. Researching online, I found a dealer site that listed a Ford f250 King Ranch for sale, 2006, for an unbelievable price at least $10k less than fair market value. Mileage was listed at around 70kmi. I signed up for car fax and ran the VIN. Much to my surprise, the carfax detailed history report alerted a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle had actual mileage of over 500,000 miles!!!!! Needless to say, I did not buy that vehicle. Thanks, carfax!!!”
