Because I am in charge of our Corporate vehicle fleet and frequently purchase cars, I use Carfax to determine whether or not the cars that I locate for our employees will provide a safe, reliable and comfortable ride. Using Carfax is an extra layer of security for all of our fleet purchases..

I was going to purchase a Audi A5 from a Private Party. I was going to travel 10 hours to go to look at and purchase the car. I bought CARFAX prior to my trip and it stated the car had 75K miles when the current owner bought the car 1 year ago. The seller was claiming the car currently had 73K miles. When confronted with this information the seller had no response and has not contacted me since. Super Glad I got CARFAX.

I found a 10 year old vehicle which I knew I would love as I had one like it previously. The Carfax confirmed that it had been treated as royalty by the previous owner and allowed me to purchase an extended 100,000 mile warranty even though I had no actual maintenance records. Thanks, Carfax! I love my car again! DWH

Was looking for a good, used truck from a manufacturer with a good reputation. I had ruled out Chevy, Ford and Dodge having owned one or another at some point in my life and, quite frankly, I was done dealing with the poor workmanship and quality control. So I decided to go Nissan or Toyota. Don't be misled, though! I did look at Chevy, Ford and Dodge because I wanted a good deal! I also wanted a truck with a healthy history! I used CARFAX and it was very instrumental in my decision making! It supplied me with pertinent information about the vehicles I looked at including if there were any recalls or accidents that might compromise the character of the vehicle. It's been two months, now, and I'm very happy with my Toyota Tundra. Thanks for your assistance, CARFAX!

Well i brought my car a an auction wasn't surw if it was a stolen Or hot car or its history. Cleared the car. the fact that sale man was arrested had nothing to do with the car. Thanks car fax.

I am a foreigner. When I began to buy a car, I had no idea whether this car had got accident before. My friend recommended me Carfax to check car history. I was so excited when I used Carfax, with it, I was so confident to choose a good car, and I did. With the help of Carfax, I finally purchased a 2009 Mercury Milan without any accident and that car really runs great! Thanks, Carfax!

I just bought a low-mileage, older car from my sister-in-law's mother. Doing business with family is always tricky. I wanted to check out the car without being too overt about it, to keep family peace. Spending the money to get the CARFAX report on the vehicle yielded two benefits: 1) It put my mind at ease by showing a very conscientious maintenance record. 2) It showed the value of the asking price vs. the street price for like make/model cars. The car turned out to be quite a bargain, as was the CARFAX report.

Carfax is useless, i know they can't know everything but there are hundreds of thousands or cars sold every week at auctions that have been in very severe accidents w/ clean titles but yet when you car fax the vin a lot of the vehicles show no wear or tear. This is a problem for the costumer who is trying to protect themselves and very innocently buy a expensive, i should say, report that those not show the important events and details of a lot of the cars that have been totaled. I am working to gather a group of people to take a class action law suit and stand up to this unjust company charging costumers too much for unimportant information as well as open complaints with the Better Business Bureau to get to the bottom of this.

I would not suggest buying a used car without this service. There was a used car on a dealership lot that had extremely low miles and the price seemed to good to be true. The Carfax displayed the engine small block being replaced at only 7000 miles with other problems being repaired as well. Thanks CarFax for saving me from a lemon.

I looked at three vehicles and ran the carfax and found out the mileage had been rolled back.

I was in the market for a used car sold by a private owner. Car Fax made it easier to make a decision to purchase knowing the history. We probably would have not made the purchase without Car Fax.

I used Carfax to help buying my first three used cars and that was very helpful. Then on the fourth car, Acura MDX, I bought another auto report (don't want to mention their name here). It shows a no-accident history, so I went to checkout the car and bought the MDX. Later it turns out that Carfax showed the MDX was claimed total loss due to vandinisim, but that auto report I bought showed nothing about the total loss. What a surprise! Now I only use carfax for its accurate and inclusive information.

My husband found a beautiful 2009 Chevy 2500 HD , 4door, 110,786 miles power everything, box cover, 4x4, Auto, Diesel pickup truck at auction and wanted to bid. The truck was awesome and even had new tires! We started it and it purred but auction rules would not let us test drive. We bought the unlimited car fax and ran the VIN number to find the truck had 5 owners, a total insurance loss from a wreck in another state (a state that did not issue salvage titles). Someone else bought the truck and a big headache for 22,350. Thank you Car Fax for saving us from a disastrous mistake. Debbie Jones

I bought a 2005 Chrysler Town and country touring van. I registered as the new owner and within days I received a post card telling me about the recall. Subsequently I received a letter regarding a different recall. for both things I took the van in for service on two different ocasions and both times the problems were fixed to my full satisfaction free of charge the head lightssand on the same day. one was for a light sensor wherethe headlights would go off one at atime and not turn on again. Fixed!. the other one was or the ac line, Fixed!. the only downfall was they did not refill with gas, but that was it. overall, very satisfied. Happy with my van!

Carfax helped us NOT buy a lemon. We had made plans to drive 3 hours to get my dream car and at the last minute I coughed up the money for a Carfax. What I found was that the car had been in several accidents, had more owners than we were told, and actually had 80,000 miles more than the owner claimed and odometer showed. Obviously, something wasn?t quite right, so we dodged a bullet, thanks to Carfax.

My father passed away a few months ago, and all my mother had to buy a used automobile was a small amount of insurance money and the cash she got for his old truck. Total, about $10,000. She had never purchased a car before. Dad was the car guy in the family. So when she asked me to help find and determine a good buy, I knew I?d be looking at a lot of cars, so I immediately purchased the unlimited CARFAX package. I wouldn?t even consider a dealer?s vehicle, if they didn?t provide a CARFAX for free. By my experience, most of them use CARFAX or other similar services, so if they don?t offer it willingly, I walk away. We found an amazing deal on a late model Camry with low miles from a private owner ? almost too good to be true. But I checked CARFAX and found a long, up-to-date history of excellent maintenance on the vehicle and Mom couldn?t be happier. She?s never had such a nice ride and I am secure in knowing that my Mother is safe and comfortable in a reliable vehicle.

People want to see proof that the car they?re buying was cared for properly. In fact, after we gave one customer a Carfax Report that showed the vehicle was well-maintained with regular oil changes, it literally sealed the deal for him. That well-maintained badge gives people more confidence that they?re making the right buying decision. Al Fast UCM
