I was looking at a 1999 GMC truck that had only 68,718 miles on it's odometer. That was really low mileage for a vehicle of that age. So I was concerned if it was true! The owner said, the person who he bought it from really wanted a bigger truck so he bought vehicle. So, I check around with people in the car business trying to get a idea of how to check it out. They all said it looked OK. But, something still bothered me. To many years and to few miles. So I decided to invest in Car Fax. A relative small amount of money for my peace of mind and this is what I found out with the Car Fax. The vehicle was bought(10/1998) new near my home town by a female who keep it for a little over 5 years(12,000 miles) and sold it to owner #2 who lived in the next county and he drove the vehicle for 8 years(56,000 miles). Selling it to owner #3 only keep the truck 1 month and sold it to owner #4 the person that I was dealing with. I was glad to find out that the vehicle stayed in my region of the country. All this information I receive from my Car fax. After a certain number of years the mileage is not required information on the vehicle title.

I have had plenty of experience grading and then negotiating for vehicles to purchase. Since CARFAX has been around I have used them on a regular basis. My experience with CARFAX has always ended with checking for unseen problems which has been a real relief for me because you can get caught up in deal making and forget doing the proper research. This is the reason I will always use CARFAX in the future to identify problems I would have never been able to see when negotiating. I give CARFAX a five star score rating and thank them for their help to avoid making a bad car deal and ending up having to fix a flawed vehicle which I would have lost money on.

I was looking for a specific car that had not been produced since 2004, (chevy Tracker) . Having bought one site unseen, I didn"t want to do that again (ebay), since these cars are not plentiful i bought the yearly pass to car fax. Being mostly concerned with mileage, condition, service records, accidents ,etc. Car fax was the answer.Living in Florida you must concern yourself with salt corrosion and severe rust. Many cars were eliminated because your car fax told me where the car had been delivered to new and where it had been till the present date.I found the car I was looking for, with no accidents, complete service records and never been on the coastline. I will continue to use car fax, with any future purchases.

I have used CarFax for years when I purchased high end cars for personal use. It's always a must regardless of how nice a car is. Cars unfortunately are emotional buys as we all know so well. In today's market it's imperative that one option is buying used ( usually high mileage) vehicles for kids or third transportation. We had just returned from Hawaii and awaiting shipping our two vehicles which takes 30-45 days. Buying a third vehicle, a truck, was a great option. Used trucks are run hard and usually have many miles. Although it was an extensive search it paid off finding this Nissan Titan with 138,000 miles. There were other vehicles cheaper yet they had no service records or the didn't have a clean "CarFax". This truck had extensive schedule maintenance reports at dealership and was kept up and clean across the board. This information proved to be a great asset in my purchase because at 168,000 in 13 months later this truck has been a gem. I just went to sell it and because of the "CarFax" I was able to get top dollar at high end of the value range which proved to be more than I paid. I owe that all to CarFax because that's what showed the value of my vehicle to the buyer. Two months later and the buyer called to tell me what a great truck it's been and it was nice to purchase from an honest seller. I said I appreciate the kind words but it was all documented so that was the easy part! Thank you for your valued service.

We hunted for weeks for a bright yellow Xterra to replace the one we just lost to some black ice. Ultimately we found one that had very high miles -- more than 180k. Normally we would have steered clear, but the Carfax showed amazingly detailed information for all 180k miles of this 2005 model. It included nearly every oil change from dealers (as well as maintenance done by a local "quick lube" chain store). Not only did it show oil changes, but things like exterior light checks, fluid flushes and a bunch of other things. It was a lot more detail than I was expecting, and that Carfax detail gave us the extra push to go ahead and buy this high mileage car with the confidence that it was genuinely cared for.

I never purchased a used car sight unseen until recently. I had been searching for the perfect 2011 Mustang GT for quite a while using online car shopping sites and I always focused on the cars available within a 50 to 75 mile radius of my home. The CARFAX reports offered by the selling dealers was always the first thing I reviewed. Since I had no luck finding the car I wanted locally, I expanded my search and found my Mustang at a dealer hundreds of miles away. They did not offer a free CARFAX report so I purchased one. The clean CARFAX was one of the key items on my used car purchase checklist and without it, I would never have completed the long distance purchase process and had the Mustang shipped to my home.

CARFAX helped greatly in assuring seller was on track. Bought car from Craigslist. Seller had described all the conditions correctly. When I examined the car, all evidence was present. Car was in good condition and operated satisfactorily. I couldn't talk him into filling the gas tank though. Good transaction both parties. Will use CARFAX again when needed.

Most people use CarFax to investigate a car they would like to purchase. Well, my story is that I successfully used CarFax to SELL a car! As I organized a folder with my car?s service records, oil changes, receipts for new tires and everything else I thought a prospective buyer would like to have, I suddenly thought, why not order a Car Fax for MY car? After all, I was helping myself by saving the time the buyer would need to check it all out themselves. Guess what? I put my car up for sale and posted copies of the CarFax along with it, and it was sold within 24 hours. Well worth it!

I was looking for a Honda Odesey Van. I am glad I had a car fax because a man was tring to sell me a van and claimed the Van had 97,000 miles. When I checked car fax I found out it 250,000 miles. then I checked and other one which I am happy with. It good to know the history of the car that you are buying.

2 years ago I was looking for a 2000 LS 400 Lexus sedan and I live in Kansas so they are not that plentiful here so I searched on the national level. After reviewing the carfax on each car I was not satisfied with the types of repairs done on most of them until I came accross a cream puff in Nashville, TN. After reviewing the carfax on that car and seeing that it had been well maintained I made the decision to purchase it based on the pictures and your carfax and I got in my Toyota Corolla Trade-In and drove down and pruchased the LS400. I still have it today and is one of the best cars I have ever owned.

Carfax is very amazing. The let you run all the license plates for free with.a full price trial. I ran the truck I bought and also ran the truck I sold, then went on treasure hunt of cars for my son. There are some really nice looking cars that are salvage or have been wrecked. Without carfax I would have never known it.

As we all know, buying a car from an individual you do not know is a little scary. After asking the person a lot of questions and taking notes I got a Carfax report which verified everything they said.Peace of mind is the one luxury we need when buying a used vehicle.

I didn't purchase a vehicle because I did have the carfax report which showed the vehicle had been in an accident. I'm still looking and will use carfax report on the next vehicle I'm interested in purchasing.

Thanks for helping me avoid a questionable purchase recently. I visited a used car dealer and test drove a 2008 Chevy HHR that looked great. I asked for the CARFAX and the sales rep gave me your competitor's report instead. That report just mentioned an accident and the rep brushed it off as nothing significant. I went home and purchased the CARFAX on the car and found where the damage was, where it happened and more. That led me to think more than twice about the dealership and the car. I kept looking and found a dealer that gave free CARFAX reports for each car on its website. I purchased a Hyundai-certified car and now I'm a happy driver. I have used your reports for many years and would never purchase a used car without a CARFAX.

We were looking for a used vehicle for our 16 year old, she was buying the vehicle herself with money she had saved. Nothing fancy but a reliable car that would get to and from school. She looked at all the "Sporty" looking vehicles that appeared great on the outside. I told her we should use carfax just to make sure. The first car that she was ready to put money down on from a dealer we used carfax and found out that it was a total loss and was in 6 major accidents. These are details the dealer did not disclose and just by looking at the vehicle, you would have never known...not a scratch on it! A total loss vehicle can have major frame damage that you can not see just by looking at it. Thanks carfax for saving us on that one! We also looked at a vehicle and the odometer did not match up with carfax listing and again, carfax saved us! 100,000 extra miles on this car that had been rolled back. We did end up running a carfax report on a used Honda that came up as a 2 owner vehicle that was maintained beautifully! I did not realize that carfax even listed oil changes and maintenance records. We ended up with a great deal of a car and felt secure using carfax to check the records. Carfax is a must and worth every penny!! Thank you Carfax!!

I was looking in Florida for a used truck and found just what I thought I wanted in local listings - I contacted the owner who told me he had the car from new, it had never been in an accident and that he had a clear title - after viewing the vehicle I did a check on CarFax and found that he was the THIRD owner and that there was a lien on the vehicle - too many doubts and I avoided the truck - if he was telling lies what else was wrong about the truck. I ended up going through a dealership where everything I was told about the truck matched up with the CarFax report. Buying CarFax was money well spent and I am sure saves me from a potential Lemon - thank you

My fianc? bought a car from a dealership in town. We were told it was brand new-a dealer demo. After all paperwork has been signed, a title came in the mail a week later instead of a MSO. We went straight up to the dealer and they never would run a CARFAX for us. After telling us they'd get us a new car, which is what we thought was purchased originally, we went home and ran a CARFAX on both vehicles. After being dooped the first time, we wanted to make sure the second car was new. The second car had never been registered according to CARFAX. Now we will always run a CARFAX when buying a vehicle, even if it is supposed to be new!
