Carfax Buyback Is A Joke

“My 16-yr-old Audi finally died as I pulled into the garage a short while back and so my car search shifted into high gear. I spent a lot of time online searching various sites and being picky about what I spent my time going to test drive. My wife found a Lexus ES 330 that she thought I'd like and so we drove across town to meet the seller for a test drive. I was extremely happy with the test drive and the car was very clean. So I bought a 5-pack of CarFax VIN lookups using my smartphone and checked the car's VIN. To my surprise the CARFAX revealed that the car had been in no less than 2 front-end collisions. That would explain why it pulled a little to the right. Wow, was I grateful for that info. I promptly abandoned that lead. About a week later, though, I found another Lexus that I liked online, but it had a bit higher mileage than I was considering. So I ran the CarFAX. This time, the report came back indicating zero accidents, but even more helpful was that fact that the CARFAX report showed that the car had been taken to the dealership every 5,000 miles for service. The test drive went well & I bought the car with the confidence of knowing the service history of this 'higher-mileage' vehicle. I would never buy a car again without first running the CARFAX.”

“This is the first used car I have bought in about ten years. Read a lot if free reports provided by dealer. Found a couple Cadillacs that did not have free Carfax, so I bought the five report special. Used all but one to narrow the search. Found two with wreck history. Ended up with used Mercury Grand Marquis at local Ford dealer. I wish I had known about Carfax when I bought our 98 Buick Lesabre. Thanks.”

“I had been shopping for a 2004 Corvette Z06 for several months. I had specific criteria for the car I wanted and as a result the candidates were spread across the country. I live in Southern California and when I finally found the car I wanted it was in Seattle. If it had not been for a comprehensive (and clean) CARFAX that contained the vehicles entire history since new I would not have considered jumping on a plane for Seattle to buy the car. It turned out to be perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Because of CARFAX I felt confident I could hop in, turn the key, and make the 1200 mile trip home.”

“I needed to buy a used car without worry. There are so many choices out there and it's difficult to know anything about the history of a car, whether purchasing from a private party or a dealer. I had narrowed down my choice to a Subaru Outback. Now, the big questions were finding one that didn't have too many owners, was serviced regularly, and if it the car was an older model, that certain major maintenance service had been completed. I could only do that with CarFax. Not only could I find that information easily, but by entering license plate numbers of potential purchases, I could run unlimited number of CarFax reports. In addition, CarFax guaranteed the report so that my purchase was worry-free. I ended up buying a 2005 Subaru Outback from a dealer. The car was in very good shape. I am confident about my purchase thanks in large part to the service that CarFax provides. I highly recommend CarFax to any potential used car buyers out there.”

“I love car fax! I almost bought a used 2002 Ford Taurus but after I ran the Carfax I found out the car had been totaled and had five title changes. The guy selling the car lied about the accident it was in. He said the previous owner had run into a tree but as it turned out it was involved in a massive vehicle collision. Thanks Carfax, you saved me from making a huge mistake! You can't always believe people when it comes to buying used cars.”

“Second time using carfax : Back in 2005 i bought 2001 Mustang Convertible. Had it for several years with no problems. I could say because of Carfax i had made the right choice, never had any problems with the car. This year bought a 2005 dodge magnum, and the car is running great. I had already decided the magnum was the car i wanted, went to see several magnums, and found out with carfaxs new app, the history and details of all cars i went to see on the spot. It gave me peace of mind, and im happy with my purchase.”

“When buying a car, I often travel 400 plus miles searching for the best car at a fair price. Using Carfax is an indispensable tool I use in helping weed out those autos that look like a great deal but in fact have hidden problems. Last month, Carfax saved me at least two long drives. The next time I buy a used car? I would feel lost without Carfax.”

“We recently went looking for an older BMW M3. We found a number of them on the internet. Many being sold by private sellers but a few offered by dealers. Some offered a Car Fax report but most didn't. We narrowed our search to four cars. I then bought a five pack of Car Fax reports. We found that some cars were in accidents (two were major) another car had seven previous owners and sold at auction three times. The one we finally picked to go look at had a clean report and was one owner We chose this car finally. Car Fax made our search much easier and saved us a lot of money in needless travel expense. Thank you Car Fax”

“I was reluctant at first to buy the monthly subscription, however after comparing the car fax report to others it was an easy choice. Running unlimited vehicle reports from online just by the plate was quick and saved me time. Instead of calling each listing, I just grabbed the plates from a picture and got everything from miles to damages and service. Well worth the money.”

“When my car was totaled out after an accident, we had to locate a replacement vehicle quickly. After using Car FAX to sort out the junk, we were able to pick out a safe reliable Ford Explorer (our 4th!) for my wife, and I. of course, took her old Explorer and gave her the new one. “I had searched for a Borrego for the past year. These cars have been discontinued and I needed to ensure that vehicle considered for purchase had been service and there were no hidden incidents. The CARFAX that I ran gave me a complete history of this vehicle which I was able to confirm was completed and covered all aspects of any type of discovery that I would have otherwise not been able to determine. “I was struggling with making a decision on purchasing a used Chevy 1500 extended cab do to mileage and year. I purchased CARFAX and ran the VIN. After review results I decided on making the purchase. CARFAX is a great tool to use when shopping for a new or used vehicle and I would suggest that everyone use it before every purchase especially if its a used vehicle. “I had two cars seating in my garage, one a VW new bug that belonged to my daughter that left to college and the other one a second car for weekends a mercedes benz 380 SL 1984, after trying to sale them with the for sale sign, with nobody interested on them, I tried autotrade, and got a month of free carfax, well expended money because I sold both cars and got a couple of newer ones one a porsche cayanne for the family and a jeep that I was missing since I got married 20 or so years ago, I am very happy with both negociations, and car fax helped a lot in the proccess of knowing how good the cars are.”

“I'm a divorced mother of 2 who can't afford car payments. So when my beater car finally fell apart, I turned to a car-savvy friend to help me find a cheap used car. He immediately suggested I buy a Carfax subscription, so on his recommendation I did. Wow, was I ever glad I did! I was able to weed out lots of cars that looked good on the outside, but once run through Carfax, proved to be a bad choice for a woman living alone. After a weekend of searching, I found two cars that met my budget, had clean histories, and were in good mechanical shape. Couldn't have done that without Carfax! Now I have peace of mind, and the kids absolutely love the ride.”

“Carfax saved the year! I was going to purchase a used vehicle I found online that seemed to be a great deal. After getting the VIN number from the seller, it came to my attention that his story on the vehicle did not render itself to be entirely honest. Come to find out, the vehicle had been in a head on collision. He was not the second owner like he stated. The vehicle was not even in his name! He was in fact flipping the vehicle for a profit without a license to avoid paying taxes. Thank you carfax for helping me avoid a costly mistake!”

“I was looking to buy my teenage daughter a small compact vehicle and wanted it to be reliable and dependable. I found a vehicle on a auto website and of course had to do a Carfax report first. My husband and I met with the owner(private sale) and had our Carfax report with us just to see if he was honest and would tell about a fender bender in 2007 ,the guy was honest enough to mention this,long story short we purchased the car after test driving it etc. Now my daughter is ready to drive it to college after graduation.
