Price and customer service. Very tacky on their refund policy, not sensitive to case by case scenario. I was involved with a hit and run and the information granted from the carfax of the other vehicle was no help. After emailing customer service that I don’t need the carfax because of the lack of information, explaining that I’m not looking to purchase the vehicle just wanted help investigating my case since the police refuse to investigate further, they decided to refuse my refund because I had different expectations that didn’t meet their guidelines. I understand I wasted $40. It was my bad. Also, there wasn’t accurate information in the carfax that warrants such a high price, and they state that they are not fully accurate in the small print. Will not recommend this site to anyone.

I really wish carfax would allow a Bog ZERO rating for white plains Honda. This dealer is the worst. They don't keep promises, they don't honor commitments. Never believe on their Internet price as there Final price even after their commitment on phone call. There sales representative Reyne/Ashley will give false promises on call. I went all the way from Long Island 90 miles and they backoff from there commitments. Don’t believe on their promises made on calls. Stay Away From Ivan Rados and David- Big Liars .!

Your numbers are wrong, check consumeraffairs for a true rating of what carfax is really worth. I was charged for a full 6 car check when I only wanted one. You absolutely can't reach them... I ended up contesting through the bank... It's a scam at the biggest scale...

3 cars on carfax showed being for sale and all 3 were actually SOLD. Traveled 2.5 hours after making an appointment to see 1 of the 3 and in that time frame all 3 cars had SOLD?

My new 2020 Ford with 1200 miles needs an oil change & a tire rotation.....? You estimated my milage at 88miles & this is recommended? Looks like Carfax & Ford are partnering to waste more of people's money.

What a joke it is. The salesman proudly showed my daughter a clean Carfax but the car had been wrecked down the whole side a fixed with a very sloppy repair. It was at West Chevrolet in Alcoa. We told them to kiss our ass!

My Vehicle was reported in an accident and it was not in an accident. I started the process to have this removed. I have all the document paperwork from the police. And it's been 3 weeks and no one has gotten back to me. I have a email response with a case number but no manager has been assigned or contact at me yet. I am trying to purchase a new vehicle and trade in my old vehicle but I cannot because this is on my Car Fax Report.

BEWARE. Don't expect to talk to human or get any response from their "contact us" form you fill out online. I've submitted several requests for assistance both online and via voicemail. I've not heard anything back from them EVER. They of course processed my payment with in seconds. When I tried to sign up/in after submitting my payment info, I could not access a report. It kept telling me my email was associated to another account. I've never used carfax before. Tried the "forgot my password" which then prompted me to enter my email so they could send me my password, did so several times and never received an email. If I was able to obtain information about a car it may have been helpful but I'll never know. Bottom line is they'll take your payment and leave you hanging if something goes wrong. After several emails and voicemails requesting a refund, I finally had to file a dispute claim with my credit card to get my money back. To this day I still haven't heard from them.

I accidentally paid $99 for 6 reports when I only needed one. I have requested a refund several times via their online only format with absolutely no response. I will never use Carfax again. This is a rip off and they have zero customer service. Buyer beware!!!

I work at a used car dealership and people always want to see the Carfax. We are a Carfax Advantage Dealer, meaning that we pay a fee to receive leads, discounted report pulls and some advertising merchandise. A few months ago, I found a discrepancy on the mileage of a diesel flatbed truck that we have for sale. I called Carfax and they required proof that the miles were input wrong. I sent them the Colorado emissions report and they said it wasn't good enough. I called the repair shop, listed on the report, that had worked on the truck prior to us buying it. They admitted that they fat-fingered the mileage and would take care of it. I pulled a new report yesterday and the discrepancy is still there. I called the repair shop and they said they they had spoken with Carfax months ago to fix the problem. I called Carfax again, spoke with Ana, and explained everything. She told me there wasn't anything they could do unless I provided proof that the other shop messed up. It's like going around and around in a circle. She wouldn't even pick up the phone and call the other shop, taking me out of the middle, to get it handled. She also wouldn't provide me with contact information for her supervisor to get this resolved, saying that she was the end of the line. Carfax collects money from both ends, dealerships and consumers, and won't do anything to help when there's a problem. I will be looking at changing to AutoCheck, or just printing the NMVTIS report to show no known title issues.

On May 13, 2020 I ran a Carfax report on a vehicle that I was going to purchase from a private party. To begin the story my credit card was overcharged, there was supposed to be $39.99 for the report, but my credit cart was charged $99.99. That is just the beginning. After running the report I went to view and inspect the vehicle. The visual inspection indicated that the vehicle still have the original paint job from the factory, yet the Carfax report shows that the vehicle has been damaged in different areas, there is no indication of any replaced parts. Then when it comes to miliage on the report it shows almost three times the mileage that the actual odometer reading in the vehicle. I showed the report to the vehicle's owner and he was concerned because the vehicle never has been in accident and the mileage is correct in the vehicle. I have requested a refund for the overcharge to my credit card, but this people have not answered to my e-mail which is the only communication they offer. Bewfare of matters like this with this merchant, before you get into a mess you will regret later. Good Luck

jebakerphd . 9:34 PM (0 minutes ago) to support No Stars. I spent $54 for current owner information of a wrecked vehicle.. There was not even a notice of salvage title -- never mind the new owner. I demand that you refund immediately.
