“We hunted for weeks for a bright yellow Xterra to replace the one we just lost to some black ice. Ultimately we found one that had very high miles -- more than 180k. Normally we would have steered clear, but the Carfax showed amazingly detailed information for all 180k miles of this 2005 model. It included nearly every oil change from dealers (as well as maintenance done by a local "quick lube" chain store). Not only did it show oil changes, but things like exterior light checks, fluid flushes and a bunch of other things. It was a lot more detail than I was expecting, and that Carfax detail gave us the extra push to go ahead and buy this high mileage car with the confidence that it was genuinely cared for.”

“I have recently decided to move to Roatan, Honduras. A beautiful island in the West Caribbean. When I arrived on the island I started looking to buy a second hand SUV or pick up car. I did not have my expectations very high because importing a car in Honduras in addition to the high freight costs also entails paying 46% import duties. Therefore, I believed that my budget of $10,000 would severely limit the choice of cars. To my amazement there were a number of 2005 and up cars available. All within my budget. I went to see quite a few of these cars and all looked in a very good condition for their age. I was about to put a deposit on a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5. That same day, just before going to the dealer, I decided to run the VIN of the car through CarFax. Although, I was in Honduras I thought that it was worth it giving it a shot. To my surprise CARFAX report indicated that the car was in a severe accident and a US JUNK Title had been issued. Obviously, it was bought by the Honduran dealer, repaired and it was sold as a "normal" used car. Obviously I walked away from this "deal". In the same way I checked quite a number of cars and all had the same kind of "flaw". A US JUNK Title!!! Finally, I found a car that was for sale by an expat going back to the US. He imported the car from the USA when he first arrived in Honduras. So CARFAX saved me from buying a real "lemon" even if a was a couple of thousands miles outside the US. Thank you CARFAX.”

“I never purchased a used car sight unseen until recently. I had been searching for the perfect 2011 Mustang GT for quite a while using online car shopping sites and I always focused on the cars available within a 50 to 75 mile radius of my home. The CARFAX reports offered by the selling dealers was always the first thing I reviewed. Since I had no luck finding the car I wanted locally, I expanded my search and found my Mustang at a dealer hundreds of miles away. They did not offer a free CARFAX report so I purchased one. The clean CARFAX was one of the key items on my used car purchase checklist and without it, I would never have completed the long distance purchase process and had the Mustang shipped to my home.”

“CARFAX helped greatly in assuring seller was on track. Bought car from Craigslist. Seller had described all the conditions correctly. When I examined the car, all evidence was present. Car was in good condition and operated satisfactorily. I couldn't talk him into filling the gas tank though. Good transaction both parties. Will use CARFAX again when needed.”

“"I had gone to a few car dealers on a "strip" in Hartford, CT and stopped into a Volvo showroom. Screaming at me in the middle of the floor was a bright red 2013 XC60 R-design. I had not planned on buying a Volvo, but its looks and the 'too-good-to-be-true' price and story behind this pre-owned were gonna require me to call on Da Fox. I summoned up my browser on my smartphone and saw a clean bill of health on the car, so I made my offer, and drove off with the car the next day! Thanks, CarFax!".”

“Peace of Mind?.In a nut shell this is what I received by using Carfax. I had done all of my research in looking for a safe and quality vehicle for my 16 year old daughter. She had her hopes set on a Chevy Avalanche, not your normal vehicle for a 16 year old girl, unless of course she tows a horse trailer. Through on-line websites I narrowed down the years and the models to avoid but there was still the nagging question as to the quality and history of the individual vehicle we found. I was amazed at the thoroughness of the Carfax report and happily read through years of service reports that were clearly listed in detail. I contacted one of the service center?s listed on the Carfax report and asked for clarification on a service that was listed as recently completed. The service center technician helpfully explained the extent of the service and as he remembered the vehicle, commented on its condition and quality and assured me that I was making a good purchase. Thank you for your product.”

“I was looking to buy a truck, just for the occasional use. Not a daily driver. Carfax led me to find this awesome 99 Ford Ranger from the Ohio/Michigan border. I went down to the used car lot, and the car was in awesome shape. Fortunately, I bought a vehicle with 4 wheel drive to make it home in the blizzard I went down there in. Thanks Carfax!”

“Most people use CarFax to investigate a car they would like to purchase. Well, my story is that I successfully used CarFax to SELL a car! As I organized a folder with my car?s service records, oil changes, receipts for new tires and everything else I thought a prospective buyer would like to have, I suddenly thought, why not order a Car Fax for MY car? After all, I was helping myself by saving the time the buyer would need to check it all out themselves. Guess what? I put my car up for sale and posted copies of the CarFax along with it, and it was sold within 24 hours. Well worth it!”

“I was looking for a Honda Odesey Van. I am glad I had a car fax because a man was tring to sell me a van and claimed the Van had 97,000 miles. When I checked car fax I found out it 250,000 miles. then I checked and other one which I am happy with. It good to know the history of the car that you are buying.”

“2 years ago I was looking for a 2000 LS 400 Lexus sedan and I live in Kansas so they are not that plentiful here so I searched on the national level. After reviewing the carfax on each car I was not satisfied with the types of repairs done on most of them until I came accross a cream puff in Nashville, TN. After reviewing the carfax on that car and seeing that it had been well maintained I made the decision to purchase it based on the pictures and your carfax and I got in my Toyota Corolla Trade-In and drove down and pruchased the LS400. I still have it today and is one of the best cars I have ever owned.”

“I was searching for an suv or large cargo vehicle since my family recently acquired a big dog. We love to travel and we now needed more space than my current Suzuki Sx-4. With the help of the carfax 5 pkg. I was able to find the perfect cargo vehicle with decent gas milage, my 2010 Dodge Journey! “Went searching for a small convertible given that I live where winters are short. I was replacing an older convertible that had passed 300k miles. Was looking for over two months. I wanted a low mileage vehicle. But as convertibles are typically built low to the ground, the risk of getting a flooded car tend to be a bit higher. So I signed up for Car Fax. After looking and taking several test drives I knew what I was looking for. I did weed out a few examples that had prior accident histories. I also weeded out a few that had exceptionally high asking prices, especially given the history (some were corporate or rental vehicles). Ended up finding one with such low mileage I couldn?t believe it. But Car Fax confirmed the low mileage numbers. And it had lived its entire life in an area that wasn?t known for flooding. But the asking price was a bit outside my range. After using KBB and the Car Fax pricing adjustment, I showed it to the seller and he accepted my offer. So I ended up with a 7 year old, one owner convertible with less than 7,000 miles. Now we?re enjoying it on sunny days. Loving the new (to me) Solstice in the sun.”

“I was searching the world ?far and wide? for a gently used, full sized pick-up. Like so many other consumers, I quickly became frustrated and demoralized with the tedious process known as car shopping. As one would expect, I found plenty of inventory on hand. My problem was, in a word, predictable. Every time I found a vehicle that seemingly had potential I soon discovered that the truck?s history was either missing, incomplete, or compromised. Although I discovered the CarFax package deal a ?little late in the game,? it turned out to be a tremendous blessing from a consumer?s point of view. I personally purchased the five pack so that I could complete my much needed due diligence. My simple assessment is succinct: I?ll never purchase a vehicle again without using the CarFax package. The reports generated are ?user friendly,? comprehensive, detail oriented, and highly informative. I was able to eliminate potential purchases quickly and with strong rationale. Ultimately, I found the perfect truck with the direct help of CarFax. The report allowed me to purchase on one owner, low mileage, clean titled, Ford F150. And, I?d be remiss to omit, the report also displayed a dated maintenance report (history) of the vehicle. This gave me added security as I was able to see what meticulous care the previous owner had extended to my ?soon to be? purchase. In a day and age where false advertising, bait and switch tactics, and hidden facts seem to be the norm over the exception, I strongly endorse this process. Signing up is discreet, confidential, affordable, quick, and incredibly simplistic. Once purchased, you can immediately put your advanced ?search tool? to work and make your car buying process much more serene and headache free.”

“I was looking at a truck that seamed to be the exact thing I wanted. I recieved the CarFax and noticed a few dealer notes that said " vehicle service" so I called the dealer and asked. They informed me that the last service was that the owner brought the truck in and was informed that the vehicle needed a head gasket. This is a $3600.00 job to be done right. The owner refused the work and took the truck, changed the oil and tried to sell it to me. Thank You so much CarFax.”

“I was recently in the market to purchase a used vehicle.. CARFAX made my experience stress free and drama free when looking into each vehicles' history; VERY Affordable and great history report deals! I purchased my used Car in confidence , and was able to use the extra history reports for my brother, who was in the market to purchase a motorcycle .. I even was able to get a CARFAX buy back guarantee for him! Safe and accurate , I wouldn't recommend purchasing a used vehicle without running a history report using CARFAX.. I never will.”

“I was about the buy 2004 Nissan quest through craigslist.org with low mileage. The price was to good to be true rhen I deciden to buy 5 carfax report package But after checking car history thru carfax report I learned that the mileage was tempered and the seller confessed that he changed the engine and put the engine mileage on the ad. Carfax report prevent me buying lemon car. Thanks Carfax”

“Being an USA site I find it serves Canada quite well too. I was looking to buy a 2 place sports car from a dealer. The price was attractive. I ran a carfax and found the KMs lower then previously reported from the registration. It was a red flag. A google and u-tube search showed me it is one of the easier cars to set the odo back on. I passed on the car and likly saved on repairs. Thanks Car-Fax”

“I was about to purchase a 1996 Lexus with 102K miles on it. Something told me to run a carfax before I was going to purchase it. I ran the carfax and discovered that it actually had 243K miles instead. The speedometer had been replaced and really saved me from this disaster! Thanks carfax!!!”
