I requested a single report and was billed for 5! Why would they do that to people I do not know. Now not only do I have try to deal with this company (which I have no faith that they will fix it), I have to deal with Amazon, who makes it nearly impossible to deal with this as well!!! RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF.... BUYER BEWARE!

Car fax states my car was damaged and was reported by a confidential source. I’ve never had an accident in the car but now I’m being docked on my trade in because of bs reporting of damage. I try to dispute it but get nothing but a bs email stating there was damage reported!!!! Don’t trust car fax!!!!

I was in an accident, I was not at fault. Carfax will make whatever “report” they come up with to make your car look as bad as they possibly can with no intentions on stating parts were changed only that the car is basically worthless. Thanks Carfax!

I will be contacting my attorney so if anybody wants to send me their info to carfax.complaint@gmail.com so we can file a law suite please do so with all info. i have owned my Porsche 911 since 2016. Carfax is reporting a "frame damage". NO ACCIDENTS. i spoke with my insurance who has no knowledge of any damage, i spoke with police in California who has no info on any damage finally i went to Porsche in Newport Beach California to inspect my vehicle. Service and sale manager looked at my car, top and bottom on a lift in service department and they noted NO DAMAGE. Carfax is ignoring my emails since February of 2019. To trade in my vehicle i would be losing roughly $30,000 and i will be seeking damages worth of $30,000. - already filed a complaint in BBB. if anybody has any open case, suggestions or suite against carfax please let me know!!! This has to END!

Last report on my car was 2013. I've had my car serviced at several shops since then and there is absolutely nothing on it. I own a 2007 Ford mustang. My car has been to Gates Chevy for oil changes, to the Ford shop for a recall, Sam's club for new tires, tire rotation and lifetime alignments, veldmans auto service center for new tires, ddw automotive in osceola, Indiana for rebuilt transmission, d & c tire for some front end work in niles michigan..not to mention I had body work done at a shop on western ave in south bend. I'm shocked I've had work done at these businesses on my car and there's no report of it.

Beware!!!! This place is a total scam. I bought a 2011 Range Rover 'as is' at the end of April and the next day the check engine lights came on and I supposedly needed to add coolant. The coolant needed to be added because the stuff was leaking into the engine. Have had this car in several shops over the first 60 days of owning it, repairing fuel injectors and a coolant tank only to find out the head gasket now needs to be replaced. They would do absolutely nothing to help with this. The DID try and get an extended warranty company to get involved a month after we had it and the problem was now so obvious...and that is insurance fraud by the way. The broker walked away from them on that. We were willing to keep the car and work with them to repair it but they refused to acknowledge the issue which there is no doubt they knew about. Dishonest and unscrupulous and just so wrong. We work hard ourselves to do the right thing by folks and these people exist. They even told me at the end that they were closing so they didn't care about doing anything.

The information reported is wrong. Miles reported are incorrect. I have pending sale and the wrong information is being reported. They have no call center!!! You cant call them. Everything is online and they could care less that the information being reported is wrong. They will not make anyone a priority.

Honestly, I work for an auto dealership so I personally deal with carfax on an almost daily basis. Let me first explain how carfax gets their reports. Obviously, any servicing done by a known source gets reported IF they report to carfax. Not all, but most places do. If you have a big dealer, chances are they have 3rd party service like tint, bumper, paint and small repairs work at the dealer. So these things get reported in various ways. My experience is something small like a paint touch up on the front bumper has caused carfax to report "front end damage" on cars that never had "damage" like you'd expect from a fender bender. This is why carfax is a sham. It hurts everyone and does nothing good except recording miles (sometimes) and titling ownership. They will state their "very reputable third party connections " bring them incident reports even if a dealer has proof they had a paint touch up and they will report major damage on the carfax. If you despute good luck. They don't care. They want physical proof. Most dealers doing touch up paint for a scratch aren't going to photograph this because it isnt damage but carfax says otherwise. They also randomly add services to a vehicle up to 5 years ( that I have personally seen ) old. For example you pull a carfax today on your car and its clean but some how they pull a small bumper repair from 5 years ago and suddenly when you go to trade it your car it says accidents reported. Rear damage, major damage and it was the smallest tap to your bumper. Again, more headache then help. Honestly, you cannot buy a damaged vehicle from a licensed legit dealer without disclosing this information so carfax is obsolete. Lemon laws and other laws for the rightful sales of vehicles prevent you from buying a car that shouldn't be sold so carfax is a sham. It's fear mongering has caused more headaches then anything else I've dealt with in the automotive industry. 10/10 would never trust carfax.

These reports are used as the industry standard to verify a car's history and can real economic implications. And yet they don't care if their information is accurate nor will they tell you where information has come from. Seems like a huge scam to me.

Carfax refuses to verify their information. Four other VIn reports do not reflect what Carfax reports. Carfax is very unhelpful. They don't care if the reports are true or not

I have had to use this company now for over a year and my experience has been full of problems. As a customer i have bought a number of cars and have had many errors on the reports. i have personally seen reports saying that a car has a structural damage and after researching the matter and talking to the old owners and the shops found the carfax reports to be false. Other times i have seen a car list 6 owners when it actually had 3 but listed the selling dealerships as past owners as well. they also charge an astronomical amount to the dealerships to provide this to us and constantly have errors the dealer then up charges us because most people think they need a carfax report to make an informed decision. do your selves a favor have it checked by a mechanic and test drive before you buy if everything else checks out dont worry about what a company that knows nothing about what the car has actually been through.

I ordered one (1) Car Fax report for a specific car. I was charged for six (6) and the report did not tell me where the car was serviced - there are a million Honda dealers!!!! - I want to know the city so I know where the car comes from!! Absolutely useless report!! Their customer service was poor - I am disputing the extra charge of $60 charge through my credit card co. I did order one (1) so I will pay for one!! Kick the tires yourself - this company is terrible!!

I went to sell my 2012 Ford F-150 and CarFax showed the car had been reported a "Total Loss" by an insurance company. The trade-in value of my truck went from $26,000 to $13,000 with the erronious entry. I submitted multiple correction inquires (many Case#) but never heard from anyone. Even the dealer submitted for a correction. I had proof nothing happend during the time frame but CarFax did nothing to correct the misrepresentation. It took 2 months for CarFax to admit an entry was made in error. CarFax has issues with accurate representation of the history of a car. You have no direct contact with users and hide behind the web vail. Mistakes happen.....but when CarFax data is taken as gospel....that's too much power over the consumer. An initial retraction brought the value up to $20k but still cost me $6k!!! CarFax admitted a report had been entered in error but would not totally fix the report. It still showed "Damage Reported". And this was for a comprehensive "glass" claim! CarFax is not reliable!! Phil Buffington pbgart@gmail.com

I bought a car off of ebay, and the owner told me the oil was changed every 3 to 5,000 miles and it was a one owner clean carfax. Wel the oil was never changed, and the oil was baked on to the inside of the engine, $10,000.00 investment later and I had to trade the car in.

report had nothing recent on report. It was months behind on information. I did get excellent customer service for a refund on my purchase because I ordered a six car fax when I meant to order a single Carfax.

Carfax doesn't play nice! They say they have proof of facts that are not true but refuse to provide sources quoting confidentiality. If the sources are coming from mechanic shops, etc., how is that confidential? We are the only owner and know the history but Carfax ignores this stating "proof" of otherwise yet won't provide it? What kind of game are they playing? I used to trust & value Carfax, now I know the company cannot be trusted! They can just BS their way through stuff & not care who it hurts. I now tell everyone I know DON'T TRUST CARFAX: THEY LIE!
