“Terrible company that i woulnd't reccomend anyone using. This company should be sued and shutdown for shady business practices. No one in my county will use carfax. Autocheck is much better and much more professional..”

“Frustrated - ordered on line - never got the email with the report. Went back to the interface and noticed that it charged me for the 5 report package - which I didn't need. Wrote customer service to get the charge waived and have not rec'd any type of reply or response.”

“CarFax markets itself as the "credit report" for cars. I found out the hard way! I bought a car with a good CarFax report then 2 years later when I tried to sell it, there were 2 damage reports from PRIOR to me purchasing the car. I contacted CarFax and they were no help, just saying they couldn't disclose who added that info to the CarFax report and would not remove it.”

“I had purchased a CarFax before I bought my car. It was clean. 12 months later I discovered that an accident had occurred with the previous owner over 2 years earlier but had not been recorded on the CarFax! Had I known this I would have been able to negotiate a much better price (if I bought the car at all). As it is, it is now devalued for when I sell it myself. The long delay in getting and/or posting that accident info has convinced me not to trust CarFax in the future. I had no recourse with the dealer.”

“The car I purchased less than a year ago according to CARfax was good and had no known issues. As I write this in the 10th month of ownership it sits in an ASE certified shop waiting for a quote to replace the engine. Because of CARfax I put faith in this purchase and now will be out more money than the car cost in the first place. Very unfortunate especially in this current climate.”
