“Thank you so much for your car fax service! It kept me from making a purchase that would have been a costly mistake, and also was a great tool that helped me buy a car I was happy with and had confidence in. I was interested in a 2003 PT Cruiser that was for sale by owner. The owner told me that it had only 79,000 miles, That's what the odometer read and he even showed me a printed off copy of a car fax. Because I intended to purchase it, I felt I should run my own car fax to confirm his printed car fax copy, boy, am I glad I did!! The car's last recorded mileage in the state of New York (I live in Colorado) four years earlier, was 136,000!! Also, the PT Cruiser had not been licensed since the mileage had been recorded four years earlier. You saved me from being scammed and I am very grateful! “It is my second time using Car Fax. Both times I would have made a huge mistake purchasing a car that was previously had major accidents...but according to the sellers were free of any defects. One of the vehicles was actually a VGA car. I think that the service is worth every penny! I was able to finally purchase a great car for my youngest daughter without worrying, at least about the vehicle... now her driving is another story!!...LOL... Thank you Car Fax!! Tom Jonas”

“I was interested in a 2011 accord with low miles and the owner stated it was a clean title no accidents . The car looked great and the title was clean however when I checked carfax they warned me that it could be a washed title becuase in another state the car was given a salvage title. ....that was close...thanks to carfax, I was not going to be ripped off”

“Buying a used vehicle can be a mess especially when you buy privately. I was looking for a particular car and every time I found one the first thing I did was ran the carfax. It saved me from buying a total loss vehicle and helped me get the exact vehicle I was looking for.”

“Very helpful and worth every penny. I was looking to buy a used car that had been salvaged according to the owner because he had hit a deer. Turns out he was right but it has also been totaled 2 times before that and rebuilt a grand total of 3 times. The Carfax told me the story that no one else could and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a used car.”

“I went and looked at a what I thought was a super clean 2006 toyota tundra, the owner said that it had not been in any accidents , I came home and checked the carfax and found that the vehicle had been a total loss and airbag deployment, carfax saved me from making a $15,000 mistake!”

“I was very interested in a 2010 Jeep Rubicon that had been involved in a roll over in California and was shipped to and rebuilt in Florida. Needless to say I'm no longer interested. What would I have done without CARFAX?”

“I purchased a car at an auto auction from a dealer and was presented a clean title. But, when I went to license the car I was told it had been in an accident and at one point had a salvage title. I ran the Carfax report which I would have thought the dealer should have done and found out that it was wrecked with only 7000 miles on it. I purchased it with 97000 on and got a salvaged title printed with my name on it. Wasn't happy!!”

“I was trying to make a decision between 2 used cars. Both were identical make and age. To make the choice easier I looked up both VIN numbers with CARFAX. Thanks to CARFAX I found out instantly that one had been in a front end collision. Thank you CARFAX for helping me.”

“I encountered what I thought was a great purchase. This vehicle had low mileage for the year it was manufactured. I was close to signing the pink slip as a friend suggested we do a car fax, then with the CARFAX realized this vehicle's odometer was set to over 100K under the original mileage. CARFAX saved me from purchasing a defective vehicle. Never again will I make a private purchase without a CARFAX. Thank you!”

“CARFAX has helped me with vehicle purchases for years! I have been duped into thinking a car was great only to find out from CARFGAX it wasn't true. I ALWAYS use CARFAX when researching a vehicle purchase and I even have my work doing the same for our fleet. Thank you CARFAX for providing excellent, accurate, real time information.
